Think of someone you don’t easily have respect for and practice making a list of their good qualities. Revisit that list of their good qualities over and over. Noticed the difference it makes to the relationship. Do the same for yourself.

I'm Shanti and welcome to Soul to Soul.

My name is Rose and we're going to talk about the power to tolerate and respect.

It's rather a wonderful topic actually because it's all to do with understanding and once we know how energy works we can see the benefit in listening to things like this and practicing all these different methods.

And the thought I was having was that this morning early actually I got this thought.

First of all the thing to help us,

It helped me a lot to see life as a garden and to see that in a garden you have seeds that's just been planted and then you have seedlings and then you have small plants and then you have plants and bushes and trees etc.

And then you have flowers.

So if I could see that would I expect a wonder from seeds?

Seeds haven't grown yet,

Haven't come out of the earth yet and seedlings are like very small people or people I don't know even people all over the world I don't even know I don't expect anything from and plants.

They are something that are useful to me that I interact with and flowers are people that are really helpful to me or people that are really close to me that I see all their good qualities.

So if I look at life like that I'll see that I can't expect big results from everyone in the world or everyone around me or everyone I meet but if I could see myself as the master of my garden and if I have that understanding I might begin to see that when I can have the power of tolerance then however anybody acts or interacts with me that's the way they are and I cannot change anybody and when I know that I can feel quite relaxed but there's more to it because we're talking about how to tolerate and have self-respect.

Well when I'm able to tolerate something I don't lose my qualities I don't lose my peace or my relaxed nature or I don't fall out with someone I don't get angry with someone I don't feel they're hopeless I don't have bad wishes for them and if I don't have these feelings for another soul they feel better about me because if I'm having annoyance fed up I don't trust this person etc etc believe it or not that energy is transmitted to them and it by the law of energy comes back to me.

It's a very very absolute so if I'm intolerant and I'm thinking why is it not like this I go I don't like this or I can't know whether this is happening why is this happening then that's affecting someone and that effect comes back to me and also I haven't made a friend there and so just think about the self because the self I need to fill myself with my own self-respect and I don't ever want to let go of my self-respect I want to hold my self-respect as something really precious because this is the energy of life and this is going to give me strength to be healthy to be friendly to be prosperous to be wise to be peaceful to have some happiness in my life and it's very simple if I think that potentially everyone's correct in what they're doing because they don't know any different everybody does what they feel is to be right no one wakes up in the morning and thinks they'll be a bad guy or mr bad but we might perceive them to be that but they don't wake up to be that and so potentially we're all good guys we're all heroes so what is the key to self-respect that I'm a soul I'm a being of energy and peace love bliss purity and this gives me power and this is why we do meditation because if I meditate and reconnect with the real me which is or which includes all these beautiful qualities I won't want to lose that respect in myself I wouldn't want to get angry and fed up and grumpy and cross and and then give myself a cascade throughout my entire body system of aggressive energy which will have a big effect on my physical mental spiritual health it's very simple but if I'm disconnected from my real self I'll try to fill the emptiness with outside things like temporary fixes like my ego etc and possessions etc and be dependent on relationships yeah fine we've got relationships but make them good good relationships because nothing in the physical world is last forever nothing stable and long lasting and during or through this I can feel fear and sadness which will lead me to be anxious and maybe get angry this actually leads to anxiety and so the solution for this is a daily reconnection with my true self and that's through meditation I am a soul I'm not physical and I'm okay I'm always okay everyone else is always okay as well but they don't know that but it's up to me not to let them feel they're not okay and everything is as it should be also there is the divine also there is the divine the source who always sees me with total respect which means that one's never angry annoyed or fed up with me but sees oh well there they are that's the way they are it's easy to respect some people sometimes they may have to pay extra attention to develop respect for others so you know that if we don't go down that track it's very easy how can I really respect everyone because we all must know there's certain people who think this is not easy so who do you find it easy to respect what can I do to have a natural flow of regard for everyone how can I manage that it's okay with the people you like but the people you don't even know because they're way out there and you're not bothered what they do I need to develop knowing that they're all souls the challenges will continue and the storms will come definitely it'll be the agitation and you'll just feel like you're definitely championing at the bit to have a go at the in the old way but you'll say don't do it don't go there don't go there because you'll get it back I think it's when we know we're going to get it back it's a very very good way to hold on to the self and your special special respect for the self I'm going to get it back meditation keeps me growing and strong and I'm resilient on the journey so make a list of the positive qualities you see in others and yourself if we were to revisit this daily have a look every day and people with label people not with not as problems to us like oh gosh oh my goodness but label them with virtues this one and even if you have to pause and think about it because it's maybe not just going to come in a flash you might be able to say well they're actually quite kind they actually have a sense of humor or they're very helpful or very strong etc etc you put a different label on them rather than whatever the grumpy one was it does help so the next time you see them there's a good chance that the new label will come up actually they're quite kind and this softens us inside something happens and then you see them and the other remarkable thing is before they've seen someone else's kind that will touch them and and the other remarkable thing is before they've seen someone else's kind that will touch them and by the law of energy they will send the kindness back to me so i'll get a lot of extra kindness coming into me if i see someone is quite cheerful something cheerful will come into me and it's a very good thing to be a good person to be a good person to be a good person to be a good person to be a good person and if they pick up and they will pick up the fact of saying a sort of cheerful happy note to them by the law of energy will come back to me and i'll feel myself even more cheerful so this can i really think that this is to tolerate is rather an empowering process we used to think a way back in the olden days you might say that you had to suffer and crawl about to tolerate and put up with something and oh my goodness have to tolerate this no because we we didn't really know how energy worked and we didn't know the bonuses that were involved in changing our attitude from intolerant to tolerant so it is really rather remarkable and to have a look at ourselves and check good manners not too difficult to have good manners i think a lot of us even long ago we did our best to have good manners and say speak nicely to people it's easy enough to say thank you and good that was great well done thank you very much that was kind not difficult to be like that this is like a sort of softening because we do know we can make very very difficult situations all of us they have to come in front of us we can't no one can avoid but if i have respect regard and appreciation that will come back to me so just keep thinking make a list of these qualities and if i think of esteem confidence and admiration this will come back to me if i consider how people might feel and cherish and approve this will come back to me if i think of dignity don't take away someone's dignity or they'll be crushed so i'll try my best to value and treasure and again it comes back to me so my self-respect will go up wow the more that i'm respecting other people i'll have so much self-respect coming back to me so much feeling whoa i can't do hardly anything and i feel i'm overflowing with these incredible qualities where have they all come from they've come because i've given them out i can't just sit on my own and start thinking the nice things only for myself that just make my ego bigger bigger and bigger and bigger i am so great i'm so good i can help people i can fix people i can do this i can do that i'm very steady i'm very stable i have to put that out and get it back and without any effort only with kindness and a feeling of giving good feelings to others and not destroying their dignity and appreciating these powers come to me so hold on to yourself in high esteem honor your own worth honor your own worth that you're worthy so cherish yourself tolerate to tolerate is the strength to be resilient and resourceful so always see people with absolute respect and that respect will come back to you there has to be something there's something good in everyone and always remember there is the divine the source who will always see i the soul with total respect because that soul has nothing but these good vibrations within can't give anything else wouldn't be able to feel grumpy or disliking for us always sees the best knows that somehow in some way we'll get there so always has your back actually so i think that to cherish and approve and to remember this power to tolerate is the strength to be resilient and resourceful and it will fill you with your own deep feeling of worth of self-respect i cannot fill myself with worth without seeing the worth of others sometimes we think the others are obstacles on the path but they're obstacles to empower you and actually the tougher they are the more benefit will come to you if you're able to overcome that and send lovely feelings and then you can be a part of that to you if you're able to overcome that and send lovely feelings because they will be suffering they'll be depleted through the awkwardness of their nature om shanti love is the most beautiful energy in our nature it's it's our energy of interaction and when i create beautiful thoughts and feelings i'm actually creating the vibration inside me of love and this vibration of love can touch the hearts of others this vibration of love is full of self-respect and looking inside i can practice soothing the self the soul is light it's gentle it's kind it's encouraging and it's relaxed and when i think of love my nature can then be generous and so it enables me to share this energy of love with others and so focusing on the soul in the center of the forehead i am light and a very beautiful aspect of my natural self is love and i can feel i wish to share this love first with myself and then share this energy of love in my interaction with others because i am love i am the energy of love i am the energy of love om shanti you
