Welcome to session #29 of our thirty (30) session introduction to meditation course! Today’s session is designed for you to flex your mental meditation muscles on your own, with just a little bit of light guidance, showing you how much you’ve learned and how capable you are to do this on your own at home. Like removing the scaffolding from a building you’ve built.

So we're almost done.

And tonight is just really I just want to recognize all of you for being present so frequently,

Regularly,

And recognize that you've learned so much about meditation.

And we've done it together.

And I don't know if you realize just how much you now know about meditating.

And I mentioned this before,

One of my greatest wishes is that you learn enough in this group,

That then supports you during the week on your own whenever you need to feel a little grounding,

Or even if you want to attempt a regular daily meditation practice that you've learned enough here,

That you really are able to do that on your own.

So in honor of that,

Tonight is the theme of tonight is removing the scaffolding.

And if you think about building a house,

And you put the scaffolding up,

And it helps you climb up and down and put the siding on and all that stuff.

The the guidance that I do is really the scaffolding of your own personal practice.

And so tonight,

I'm going to do really just a tiny little bit of guidance.

The sessions will be each 10 minutes long,

And then you're going to get a chance to see for yourself how proficient you've become meditating and you're capable of doing this on your own.

So tonight is removing the scaffolding.

Coming now to sit,

Entering into your meditation.

Setting your intention to be here,

Present and alert.

Finding your meditation posture.

Beginning with three deep,

Calming breaths.

Softening and relaxing your body.

Checking in with your equanimity.

Aware of your breath.

Counting your breath from 1 to 10.

Mind wanders,

Notice,

Smile,

Begin again.

Counting fades,

And simply following your breath.

Silent.
