Welcome to day six of learning to breathe with Carrie Joy of Sagewood Wellness.

Thank you so so much for joining me today.

I look forward to leading you through our practice of the day which is breath of fire.

So breath of fire is a very energizing breath.

Things that we need to watch out for is blood pressure,

Heart disease,

Pregnancy,

Also panic or anxiety disorders where an exuberant amount of breath can cause this.

So these are things if they are present in your life I would not be practicing this breath practice or this pranayama.

So for breath of fire what we're going to do is we're going to take a really nice big inhale and I'm just exampling right now or showing.

So taking a nice big deep breath into the belly.

Then on our exhale we're going to exhale and inhale really fast so Okay so that is what it's going to sound like.

So whether or not you go faster or slower this is a completely personal choice.

One thing is you may feel lightheaded so we want to watch for this at the end of our practice.

So here we're going to start with a nice big inhale in into the belly and now we're doing our quick bursts so and exhale.

So they're really nice quick bursts of an inhale and an exhale.

This is a really really good practice in place of a stimulant.

So in place of coffee,

Tea,

Energy drinks,

Whatever.

This is a wonderful wonderful practice for that.

So we're going to do it again.

Now we're going to practice together until I bring us back into the room.

So inhaling in and start breath of fire.

Only go as long as you feel comfortable.

When you're more versely practiced in this pranayama you'll be able to lengthen the space between your inhale and your finishing exhale.

And if you can right now,

Wonderful.

There's no right or wrong way to do this.

So again going in inhaling taking a moment and we'll practice this once more as we inhale and breath of fire is really great for clearing our nadis or energetic areas of our bodies.

We're coming into just a normal breath cycle now.

Just an inhale and an exhale.

Checking in and observing how you feel.

Knowing that you may feel an increase of energy,

You may feel slightly light-headed or a high of some type that is just natural from the breathing.

A body high.

From here allowing ourselves to add movement into the fingers and the toes.

Feeling the temperature of the air on your skin.

Feeling the temperature of the air on your skin.

And opening up your eyes.

Knowing that you can come back to this practice at any time.

Thank you so much for joining me today.

I look forward to seeing you on day seven.

You
