And let's begin our session by coming back to ourselves.
The fastest and easiest way is with the breath.
So I invite you to take some nice,
Deep breaths.
Go at your own pace,
Whatever is most comfortable for you.
Allow your breathing to help you feel more grounded in your body,
More present.
And really use it to quiet your mind.
Sometimes it can feel like there's so much chatter,
So much noise going on in the mind.
And as you quiet those voices,
Perhaps just take note of what they're saying or what they're wanting to say.
Maybe you're hearing something like,
You don't have time for this.
We have too many things to do.
Maybe it's,
I'm scared.
Don't make me do this.
If I go quiet,
You'll never hear me again.
I'll disappear.
Or perhaps it's,
Who do you think you are?
To meditate.
Be gentle with all of those voices.
Acknowledge them.
Yes,
I hear you.
And I'm going to keep breathing.
One of the things A Course in Miracles teaches is that the ego always speaks first and loudest.
So in order to hear the voice for God,
We have to quiet all the chatter,
Which is exactly what we're doing.
We're reconnecting to the consciousness that runs through all of our minds.
This loving space that when we do hear it,
Doesn't criticize or judge.
Sometimes it's loving.
Sometimes it's more matter of fact.
Sometimes we're being communicated to in ways that aren't even words.
Maybe it's a flower,
A dragonfly,
A cloud,
A line we read,
A snippet of a conversation.
From someone walking by.
And in order to be paying attention to this undercurrent that is always there,
We have to turn down the noise in our minds.
And the more we practice this,
That thread,
Which is always connected,
Gets stronger.
That thread that's connected to the God consciousness,
To infinite intelligence,
Gets fed.
And we're able to hear it more easily because it becomes more and more familiar.
In fact,
God's voice speaks to you all throughout the day.
Are you listening?
Sometimes in order to hear it,
We need to ask a question.
Now that you've quieted the noise in your mind,
What would you like to know?
How can I best hear you?
What would you have me do?
How can I experience more love in my life?
I need help healing a relationship.
Can you give me guidance?
What is preventing me from having the breakthrough that I need?
How can I feel more supported?
What can I do to feel less anxious?
We ask and then we get quiet to listen.
The kind,
Loving voice for God is always there.
And let's take a moment to say thank you for the ability to be together,
To do this practice together,
To be able to access that true guidance,
To relax into hearing that voice of love and to know how to do that.
It is always here for you.
And so it is.
