I'm your host,

Sonia Iris Lozada.

Stay tuned.

Welcome to Season 1,

Episode 1.

Today we discuss hope and how it affects our perceptions.

Here we are in 2021.

In 2019,

I saw 2020 as a beautiful year.

I didn't foresee it as being such a challenge.

I researched numbers and their meanings,

And this is what I found,

Which I found pretty interesting.

The number zero,

Meaning the God energy,

The higher self,

Or universal consciousness and knowledge,

Whichever concept is acceptable to you.

The number zero has no beginning and no end.

It is infinite.

The number two,

Meaning family and relationships,

Polarity.

The number two can be good or bad,

Joyful or sorrow,

Love or hate,

Rich or poor.

But our experiences and perceptions saw bad,

Sorrow,

Hate and poor due to so many deaths,

Unemployment and political differences.

I send blessings to all of you who lost someone.

I looked at 2020 so optimistically because I saw knowledge,

Family and friends.

I did not perceive it as the opposite.

Even though we might look back at this differently in the future,

We experienced the darker side of those numbers.

And that's what we were living through in 2020.

We had to learn lessons,

Self-reflection and clean up our homes.

We were made to think what is really important in our lives.

2020 was one big lesson in a year of universal service.

We witnessed people helping others in ways we hadn't seen in decades.

People stood up for each other.

Some of us lost family,

Which is heartbreaking because we know we're going to lose our family eventually.

Everybody dies.

But to lose them where you can't be by their side is devastating.

2021 in numerology means universal service and communication.

The APA dictionary of psychology defines hope as the expectation that one will have positive experiences or that a potentially threatening or negative situation will not materialize or will ultimately result in favorable state of affairs.

Hope has been categorized in the psychological literature in various ways,

Including as a character strength and emotion,

A component of motivation that is critical to goal attainment,

A mechanism that facilitates coping with loss,

Illness and other significant stresses or an integrated combination of these features.

It's a new beginning.

Let's start this year right.

What gives you hope?

A change in belief systems?

A change in self?

Or writing New Year's resolutions,

Which honestly most of us just don't keep?

Years ago,

I stopped writing them because I felt I was sabotaging myself.

I don't like telling myself what to do,

So I knew I wasn't going to do it.

I've decided to do intentions as I find them mindful and kinder to self.

What are your intentions?

My intentions are to continue doing this podcast on a weekly basis.

Take care of my body,

Mind and soul.

Try something new,

Even if it's just a recipe.

Hope can be a powerful force.

Maybe there's no actual magic in it,

But when you know what you hope for most and hold it like the light within you,

You can make things happen almost like magic.

Laini Taylor,

You may not always have a comfortable life and you will not always be able to solve all the world's problems at once,

But don't ever underestimate the importance you can have because history has shown us that courage can be contagious and hope can take a life of its own.

Michelle Obama.

These statements are so encouraging.

I know firsthand my childhood wasn't the most comfortable.

My parents were the working poor,

But it was a wonderful time and I knew that they loved us.

I played outside with other children,

Ate soft swirled ice cream from an ice cream truck.

It was fun.

I watched a hippie stand for something.

I saw that again with the Black Lives Matter movement.

There's a change happening,

Unity and disparity at the same time.

Hope being a matter of perception.

Some hoping the status quo doesn't change,

Others protesting for change.

What history has taught us is life changes,

The world changes,

Ideas change and perceptions change.

Can you imagine if you still believe the earth was flat?

We would have never traveled.

Jules Verne wrote about submarines and airplanes when it was considered sci-fi.

Now we don't even pay attention to it.

It's just part of life.

The very least you can do in your life is figure out what you hope for and the most you can do is live inside that hope,

Not admire it from a distance,

But live right in it under its roof.

Barbara King-Solver.

The poem for this week is from Inspire Me Perception entitled The Season.

Crackling fireplace sings,

Curiosity peaks outside,

Autumn leaves hills of amber foliage,

Chlorophyll vanishes into the childhood joys and jumps to the sounds of crushing maple leaves.

Listening to music,

Family reminisces,

Not relating,

I smile at my friend.

Brother and sister join me,

Hopes,

Dreams and truths.

Strange how we review life,

Expecting more,

Regretting less.

Winter possesses fall colors morphing into cleansing snow.

Homebound readings of knowledge,

House parties,

Holidays and family.

Fireplace logs disintegrate,

Phoenix flames anew.

Wood window frames the still urban terrain.

May your year be full of hope,

Prosperity and the great health to enjoy it all.

Many blessings.
