This meditation, inspired by Adyashanti, is a reflection on the Buddhist saying, "This very body is the Buddha." Your body, your being, is an expression of life becoming conscious of itself through you. This meditation can be used in the morning, at bedtime, or on the spot in the course of your day. Based on the teachings of Adyashanti, it can be used alone or as a companion to his "Direct Way" teachings. I hope you enjoy. Music and audio by Eric Fischer.

Hello friends,

Today's mini practice is on a Buddhist phrase that goes,

This very body is the Buddha.

This means that the nature of form,

Including your body,

Is the body of reality.

Adyashanti tells us the face of God is the sky above and the ground underfoot,

As well as the vast reaches of time and space.

It's your own body,

Breath,

The beating of your heart.

Awakened awareness reveals awareness not as something to possess but rather the vast conscious spaciousness that we are.

The experience of this brings great fearlessness,

Freedom,

Lightness,

Clarity of mind.

As awareness offers itself to the spiritual heart,

To our sacred heart,

An intimate connection with all of life is revealed.

The countless forms of life on the planet are your own blood,

Your bones and marrow,

An immense fountain of love.

From the awakened view of this very body,

Your human body and your cosmic body,

Which is the cosmos itself,

Is the body of the Buddha,

The body of essential being.

So the invitation here is to allow the world inside of you.

Just allow it.

There's nothing to fear.

It has been there all along.

You,

My friend,

Are how the world intimately experiences itself.

So rest your awareness in the silence of the heart.

Listen with all of your senses wide open so that your whole body becomes the eyes and the ears of the infinite.

Imagine that your whole body is how infinite being life itself sees and hears,

Tastes,

Touches and feels itself as form.

It comes to know itself through you.

Resting as the silent openness of the heart,

Feel that you are the consciousness of life itself.

Feel that you are life becoming conscious of itself.

Life sees itself through your eyes.

Life hears itself through your ears.

Life feels itself through your senses.

And through the very awareness that you are,

Life becomes conscious of itself.

And what joy in becoming conscious of itself through you.

Let yourself abide in the generosity of being.

This very body,

Your body,

That is the Buddha.

Be well,

My friend.

Beautiful words and sounds pointing towards light and truth 💖 I will keep returning to this practice as I notice my mind grasping to understand and work it all out but it can not! I need to just let the words wash over me, soak and permeate my soul 💫😊
