Your greatest fear is a lie. This session exposes how fear is merely an innocent misunderstanding of reality, fueled by the content of your mind. See the difference between the reality of the present moment (where there is nothing to fear) and the imagination of the mind. This insight is the most important thing you can devote yourself to if you want to dissolve emotional disturbance and allow love to flow consistently.

And this is the beautiful thing about fear is that what we fear,

Which is also that which stops us,

Which is also that which creates the tension in our bodies,

Which is also that which withholds love and doesn't flow freely,

That fear is an innocent misunderstanding of reality.

Effectively saying you don't need to be afraid.

Also saying there's nothing real to be afraid of.

And I love that deep dive to see that in reality,

In what is real and true,

There is actually nothing to be afraid of.

We could also say within the sacred there's nothing to be afraid of.

And you know,

My gosh I've done whole talks on this before about the nature of fear,

But if you can make that leap with me,

Isn't that wild?

Isn't that absolutely wild?

And maybe just imagine the possibility if you don't see it,

That in reality,

In what is real and true in this life,

There's actually nothing to be afraid of.

In fact,

Everything that you do fear isn't to fear anything in life,

But it's to fear the content of your mind,

Which is being confused as reality.

Just like a child who sits on his bed terrified that there's a monster in the closet,

They might be shaking with fear,

But the monster lives in their mind as they project it into the closet.

Another great analogy of this is,

Maybe it's the case for you,

Maybe it's not,

But imagine it is,

That you're afraid of the dark.

And we can very easily just say,

Yeah I'm afraid of the dark,

That's real.

The dark is scary.

But it only takes a moment to realize that it's not the dark you're afraid of.

You're afraid of your imagination when the lights are out.

You're afraid of what's in the mind.

Because as soon as you switch the light on,

The same thing is there,

Whether the light is on or off.

So no,

You're not afraid of the dark,

Right?

You're not afraid of the reality of the dark.

You're afraid of what goes on in the mind.

And again,

This circles back to the original invitation of discerning the difference between life and the mind.

As you go through your life,

Whether you're taking things personally,

Whether you're stressed and anxious,

Whether you're jealous or heartbroken,

Whatever it might be that's related to an internal emotional disturbance,

Can you see that it's not in response to the reality of the present moment,

But in response to the mind,

Which is then believed to be reality.

It's wild.

And I don't understand how you can actually see that,

And then it doesn't become the most important thing in your life to effectively devote yourself to this discovery,

To be in relationship with the truth of life where there is nothing to be afraid of.

Because your whole problematic experience of being a human being is all fueled and energized by fear.

And what a completely different reality it is to live this human life and be in life where there is nothing to fear,

Which only means love can flow consistently.

How does that not become the most important thing?

Which is also to say,

Real life is what is sacred,

And it's constantly inviting you to come home,

To be in communion with the sacred.

And effectively,

And in a manner of speaking,

The only reason we're not is because we think there's something that we want more than the truth of life.

Which is to say,

We think we want something in the world,

Which is to also say,

We think we want something in the mind.
