This is a short body scan mediation that slowly guides you through relaxing each part of your body to help you shift out of racing thoughts to calm your body and relax your mind. It will leave you feeling more grounded and mindful.

This meditation will guide you through a body scan and bring your attention to different areas of your body to encourage relaxation and calm.

In order to calm the mind from difficult thoughts and emotions,

We first aim to relax the body.

The more relaxed your body can be,

The less likely you are to feel stress,

Anxiety or overwhelm.

Before we start,

Get into a position that is comfortable for you and gently close your eyes.

Take three deep breaths to turn your attention towards the body.

One,

Two,

Three.

Turn your attention towards the top of your head.

Imagine there is a warm glowing light around your head.

As you breathe in,

Bring your attention towards your forehead,

Feeling the glowing warm light.

Now move your attention towards your left eyebrow,

The right eyebrow,

The space in between the eyebrows,

The left eye glowing softly,

The right eye,

The left cheek,

The right cheek,

The jawline relieving any tension in the jaw and face.

Now move your attention to your tongue,

Tasting inside the mouth,

The teeth,

The lips.

Move your attention towards the chin,

The throat,

The whole of the head glowing softly.

Now move your attention to the neck,

Relieving any tension you can feel as you breathe.

The left shoulder,

The right shoulder,

The top of the left arm,

The lower of the left arm,

The left hand.

Feel the five fingers and the space between your fingers,

The top of the right arm,

The lower of the right arm,

The right hand,

Feeling the five fingers and the space between your fingers.

Imagine the warm glowing light on each area of your body as you focus on it.

Now move your attention to the chest,

Rising and falling as you breathe.

The ribs,

The belly,

The whole of the front of your body,

The hips,

The lower back,

The middle back and the upper back.

The whole torso as one glowing gently.

Now move your attention to the left leg,

The left thigh,

The left knee,

The left calf and the left shin,

The left foot,

The left big toe,

The left second toe,

The left third toe,

The left fourth toe and the left pinky toe,

The right leg,

The right thigh,

The right knee,

The right calf and shin,

The right foot,

The right big toe,

The right second toe,

The right third toe,

The right fourth toe and the right pinky toe.

Both legs together glowing in the warm light.

Feel the lightness of the whole body as one,

Illuminated by the soft glowing light.

Bring your attention to the skin,

The muscles,

The tendons and nerves,

The organs,

The bones,

All combining to make you who you are.

Feel the whole body relaxed.

When you are ready,

Softly wriggle your toes and fingers and gently open your eyes.
