Welcome to this root chakra grounding meditation.
My name is Bruce and I'm so grateful to be sharing this time with you.
Let's begin by sitting upright.
Sit bones planted down into the earth or into a chair.
You could even be standing if you like.
Just so long as our spine is nice and tall and straight.
It's like there's a string attached to your tailbone all the way through your head and it's being pulled up.
So we're just gently allowing our spine or head to be elevated.
This is a very relaxing position to be in.
And we're just going to focus on our breathing to get started.
So when you breathe you fill up your belly,
You fill up your ribs,
And you fill up your chest.
And you squeeze your belly and the ribs fall and the shoulders fall.
This is our pattern.
In and out fully all the way.
Our mind is focused on the breathing and how it feels.
In fact this is our main anchor point.
If we do nothing at all during this meditation other than to focus on the breathing,
That would be a very good meditation.
Of course we'll add some other things here.
Some visualizations,
Some energetics.
The point is to be focused on the breathing.
A hundred percent in and a hundred percent out.
Belly,
Ribs,
Chest.
Squeeze all the way out.
Belly,
Ribs fall,
Shoulders fall.
So we set this pattern.
And if our mind wanders off and begins chattering,
You'll first notice that you're chattering away.
Without any judgment you just come back to the breathing.
Feeling how it feels to breathe all the way in and all the way out.
A couple more times.
We'll stay with this before I add anything else.
Now allow this to be your baseline.
Staying with this hundred percent in,
A hundred percent out.
Imagine that there's roots growing out from right underneath you.
These roots begin digging past the rocks and the dirt and the soil.
Minerals and bones and more rocks and more dirt.
Just these roots just keep digging down,
Down,
Down.
Like a tree,
You're combining your energy with Mother Earth,
Pachamama,
Mother Gaia.
Keep imagining the roots keep digging down and down and down until they're gone.
Reaches the very core,
The center of the earth.
Where these roots wrap around the center.
Keep breathing and noticing,
Imagining,
Feeling.
Now imagine a red ball at your tailbone.
Visualize it,
See it,
Feel it.
And on the inhale,
Imagine red energy moves up through the roots and makes this red ball at your tailbone brighter,
Bigger.
And on the exhale,
You can allow this red energy to dissipate,
To go back down into the earth,
To release what you no longer need,
What no longer serves you.
Inhale,
Energize.
Exhale,
Release.
Inhale,
Notice the red ball getting brighter as energy moves up these roots.
And notice the energy going back down the roots,
Back down to Pachamama for recycling.
Stay with it.
This is your chance to fill up,
To charge up.
Breathing all the way in.
And this is your chance to release what no longer serves.
Full breath out,
Belly,
Ribs,
Chest.
Focusing on what you're doing.
Breathing energy up,
Letting it go back down.
And add some energetics if you like,
Some mantras to tone the mind,
To tune your vibration.
Inhale,
Inside your mind,
Say om.
And on the exhale,
Inside your mind,
Say a lung,
L-U-N-G,
And it has nothing to do with your actual lungs,
Sanskrit.
Inhale,
Om.
Exhale,
Lung.
No vocalizing out loud.
Just tuning your mind to the vibration of om.
And the vibration of the bija mantra for the root chakra,
Lung.
Inhale,
Om,
Breathing up energy.
Exhale,
Lung,
Letting this energy go.
Feel free to stay with this practice as it is.
Or let's really turbocharge if you're in the mood to.
So we'll keep the inhale,
The om,
The charging up just as it is.
But on the exhale,
We'll squeeze your mula bandha,
That's your perineum.
And just imagine that this energy is condensing.
We've cleared out what we no longer need.
Om,
Lung,
In your mind.
So inhale energy up the roots.
It's red.
It makes the ball brighter,
Bigger.
In your mind,
Say lung,
Squeeze your perineum,
Your mula bandha,
And feel this energy contracting,
Condensing,
Getting stronger.
The main focus is still on the deep breathing.
And the seemingly very simple practice is all you need to ground yourself,
To recharge with earth energy.
If at any point in your day you feel stuck or stagnant or lost or tired,
Or in your head,
Unable to stop the chatter,
Just take a few minutes.
Set your breathing pattern,
Anchor in it.
And then tune in.
Allow for the energy to move and just observe it as you focus on your breathing.
And feel free to stay here for as long as you wish.
But for now,
I will close this down with one mantra om.
Feel free to join if you wish.
Breathe all the way in.
Om.
The light in me sees and honors the light in you.
Namaste.
