The root chakra,
Muladhara,
Is the chakra of stability,
Security,
And our basic needs.
The root chakra is comprised of whatever grounds you to stability in your life.
This includes your basic needs such as food,
Water,
Shelter,
Safety,
As well as your emotional needs of interconnection and being fearless.
When these needs are met,
We feel grounded and safe.
It is the most important chakra as this is the fundamental,
Mool chakra.
This chakra provides the links between our energetic system and the physical world and is our base for our life force energy.
It gives us the motivation to eat,
To sleep,
And procreate.
When it comes to our psychological and spiritual nature,
It helps us to develop our personal integrity,
Self-esteem,
And sense of belonging.
Let's take a moment now to just find a comfortable position.
You don't need to be in any particular posture.
You can be standing,
Sitting,
Or even lying down.
The most important thing is that you feel relaxed and alert.
Make sure that you have some openness in the front of your body.
You can roll your shoulders up and back.
Or if you're lying down,
Just allow your shoulders to really relax into the floor.
Release any rigidity or stiffness.
Plowing a softness into the face,
The jaw,
The shoulders,
And the belly.
This balanced posture of being both relaxed and alert,
Being both soft and open.
It's the beginning of our embodied awareness.
Just notice what's present right now.
Allow what's happening for you.
Maybe some thoughts or emotions are coming up.
Just let everything be here.
Now I'm going to invite you to take a deep breath in through your nose.
And as you exhale,
Make a sighing sound.
Release any tension in the body as you breathe in and out.
Do this a few times on your own.
As you breathe in,
Opening the front of the body.
And as you breathe out,
Really softening and relaxing.
Now I invite you to gently place the palms of your hands at your lower abdomen,
Below your belly,
Where your root chakra resides.
Take a moment here in silence to notice your bodily sensations.
Breathe in naturally through the nose,
Then breathe out naturally through the nose.
As you connect with yourself more and come into the moment,
Bring your attention fully to the warmth of your hands resting at your belly.
Notice how the area feels.
Does it feel tight or unstable?
Do you feel some level of fatigue or discomfort?
Just mindfully relax that area now and let go now.
I'd like to visualize your root chakra.
Imagine it as a vibrant red sphere at the base of your spine.
Observe its slow,
Steady,
Rhythmic,
Whirling motion.
Observing its crimson hue,
As well as the warmth that emanates from it.
Allow this warmth to spread across your pelvis.
As you connect with these sensations,
Allow yourself to let go of any feelings of insecurity,
Of fear,
And anxiety.
Feel yourself instead with feelings of security,
Courage,
And confidence.
Letting in these positive emotions.
Let yourself feel this.
Now I invite you to either repeat after me silently or out loud.
Taking a deep breath in and exhaling.
I am here and I am safe.
I am nourished and supported by Mother Earth.
I am safe,
Protected,
And guided in this world.
I release any doubts and fears.
With every breath,
I release the anxiety and fear within me.
The Earth supports me and meets my needs.
I am financially free.
I love my body and trust its wisdom.
I am at home in my own body.
I am immersed in abundance.
Stay here now for a few moments,
Focusing.
Is there anymore I must do?
Only a little.
Feeling rooted.
Feeling grounded.
Resting in this embodied awareness.
As we come to an end in this meditation,
Take a moment to express gratitude.
Gratitude towards yourself for taking time to cultivate this practice.
Know that today you have done very powerful work in cleansing,
Healing,
And activating your root chakra.
So slowly and gently you can begin to open your eyes.
Begin to move your hands,
Your feet.
Let yourself reconnect to your surroundings as we finish this meditation.
Namaste.
