Today,

I would love to talk to you about getting through indecision and being able to find your answers in meditation.

So welcome back to the Meditation School podcast.

You made it.

Yay.

Good job.

I know this is one of the most common issues and most common questions I get.

I'm David.

I'm trying to make a decision in life about a relationship or career thing,

Creative thing,

Spiritual thing.

Should I move?

Should I stay?

Should I go?

And I just hit this wall of indecision.

I hit this deep feeling of almost like psychic fuzziness.

Are you suffering from psychic fuzziness?

Take this meditation pill now.

I just made that joke so I could press that button.

I get it.

We all experience it.

So how do we get through indecision?

And actually,

How do we use indecision for our benefit?

So usually when a student comes to me and says,

I have all of this,

All of this doubt,

All this indecisiveness,

How do I get around it to the answer that I want?

And they come to me and I'll look at them and maybe they're on like step two out of step 10.

And they're saying to me,

David,

I'm on step nine out of step 10 and I need you to get me over that last hump.

And I need to give them a reality check that,

Hey,

Maybe you're not.

Maybe this indecision is a really important thing for you to look at.

And as I say that,

There's a truck backing up outside my house.

Beep beep.

Indecision coming your way.

Hi,

I got a truckload of doubt for you.

Can I drop it off here?

Did you order an Amazon package full of indecision?

Enough,

David,

Stop.

Oh,

See,

Someone thought that was funny.

When we step into having a better relationship with indecision,

That's when we actually start to get our answers.

And so what I mean by that is,

Say you're trying to make a decision about something you can't seem to figure it out.

Close your eyes to meditate.

You open up that mind's eye.

And the way you do that is you just allow yourself to whatever allow yourself to see whatever images come up in your mind,

Whatever energies come up,

Whatever thoughts come up and you just look at them.

And you want to start to look at indecision.

What would indecision look like if you could see it on the screen of your mind?

Would it be just like a fuzzy gray?

Would it be an image of one of your parents?

Would it be just squiggly lines?

Would it be just blackness?

I see nothing.

It's emptiness.

Even in that black emptiness,

There's something.

So what does indecision look like for you,

First and foremost?

And then can you start to peel back some of that indecision,

Peel back some of the layers?

What is it actually made of?

Doubt,

Invalidation,

Fear,

Frustration,

Anger,

Anxiety.

Indecision is made of energy,

Just like everything in life is made of energy.

So what is your indecision made of?

And there may be a whole bunch of layers to this one.

You might have to sit with it for a while,

But I want you to have confidence in doing this because you can now say,

I have confidence that I'm sure that I'm unsure.

That is step one.

I'm sure that I'm unsure.

I'm decisive that there's indecision here.

And step two is I'm going to face it.

I'm going to face this energy.

And step three,

You start peeling back the layers.

So if I was to ask you,

If we were sitting one on one together right now,

I was to ask you,

What is right underneath that indecision?

What energy?

If you were to look at it for a moment and inspect it,

What would you see?

What would you find?

Just as an example,

For my own life,

I remember a number of times making decisions around my meditation school business and creating content.

And I'd be like,

What should I do next?

Oh,

Look at that indecision.

I'm not sure.

And I would peel back a layer and there would maybe be some invalidation.

Maybe people won't like this or fear.

What if they hate it?

Or worse,

What if they don't pay attention?

Please pay attention.

So what are the layers for you?

Start peeling them back.

Your answer.

And here's the most important part.

Your answer is inside the indecision.

It's not around it.

It's not somewhere else.

It's not like you take the indecision,

Throw it in the trash,

And you just think positive thoughts to get past it.

Life is abundance.

Everything is happiness.

Everything works out and manifests whatever I want.

So positive.

Can someone write me a check because I'm so special?

Make sure you add more zeros.

Right?

No,

We're not doing that.

That's the shallow end of the spiritual path.

I'm going to think positively into getting what I want.

Here we look at what's actually in front of us and deal with reality.

So we peel back those layers of indecision.

And we recognize our answers are inside it.

Your decision is inside the indecision.

That's the best part.

It's not far away.

It was hard to find because it was so close.

And if you're like,

David,

All I found was a ball of anxiety.

Yeah,

That's it.

Keep going.

What's inside of that fear?

Great.

And what's inside of that?

I don't think I'm good enough.

Amazing.

You did it.

So obnoxious.

But for real,

That's how you do it.

The decision is there.

The answer is there.

And if you make a decision out of fear,

If you make a move in life out of anxiety,

If you make it out of trying to avoid pain,

You're going to get more of what you're trying to avoid.

It's a law of nature,

Like the law of gravity.

If you make a decision out of what you're trying to avoid,

You'll make more of it.

So homework,

Sit down and meditation,

Look at this energy of indecision for yourself,

Peel back the layers and recognize your answer is at the core and I might take 10 minutes of meditation,

Or it might take 10 years.

Or anything in between.

And that's what we do in meditation school.

That's what I teach.

We sit down,

We look at these energies,

We learn how to peel them back and really start to awaken to a deeper sense of who we are.

And not just by pretending everything is totally cool.

I don't know why I turned into almost like a valley girl.

Everything's so fine.

Alright,

You probably hate me by now but it was really great sitting with you today and I hope that some of the indecision peeled away just as we were here connecting.

I hope you sit meditate,

Keep working it.

Every answer you're looking for is here.

You just have to be patient and look deeply.

I wish you the best.

I will see you next time.

Love yourself and everyone around you and be well.
