In a time, now, quite possibly more than ever we need people who are able to imagine better futures, we need people who are capable and practiced in creative thinking. Whether you consider yourself to be an artist or not, this meditation will help you to connect to the creative and healing well deep within you. Hello.

Thank you for taking the time today.

I think that we now and always need people who are well-versed and well-practiced in the art of creativity.

People who are able to imagine beautiful futures where unconditional love and justice,

Liberation,

Healing,

And wholeness are at the core.

People who have developed their creative thinking skills and can think outside the box.

People who are able to see a world other than what is fed to them.

So it's in this spirit that I offer this practice today called The Well of Possibility and we're going to take a journey to find our own well,

Replenish our creativity,

And find what is waiting for us there.

Let's settle in.

Find a comfortable seated or lying down position.

Get your water.

Have your water nearby.

Perhaps a journal if you want to write anything down after this practice.

Settling in.

Taking a deep breath.

And gently letting that go.

Feel into the left side of your body.

And breathe out.

Breathe in and feel into the right side of your body.

And gently let that breath go.

Settling in the middle.

Taking a deep cleansing breath in the middle.

With your eyes closed.

Bring to your heart-mind or your mind's eye a calm forest path.

And in your mind's eye begin walking on this forest path.

It may be a place you've been before.

In waking life,

In your dreams,

In your spirit.

Begin to notice the trees around you.

What kinds of trees they are.

How are they swaying with the wind?

Notice any sounds or smells that might be in your forest.

Create this forest in your rich imagination,

Step by step.

And as you're walking you can hear a stream running nearby.

And you're walking on this path parallel to the stream of fresh,

Clean water.

And as you're walking on this path you come to a clearing.

And in this clearing you can notice any animal friends.

Birds,

Plants,

Trees or other beings here.

Just notice,

Noticing the weather,

Any details you can about this place.

This place is safe.

This place is yours.

This place is sacred.

And in this clearing there is a well,

An old stone well.

And you walk up to this well and notice that there is a bucket on the side of the well inviting you to lower it into the depths.

So in your mind's eye imagine yourself hooking up that bucket to a long rope and begin to lower the bucket down into the deep and dark well.

This is your well of possibility.

And we're going to count down from five.

With the breath,

Imagining that bucket getting lower and lower,

Going down a level each time you breathe out.

So we'll start breathing in with five.

Breathing out five.

Lowering the bucket.

Breathing in.

Breathing out four.

Three.

Two.

And when you reach one,

You hear the bucket lower into a pool of water.

You can imagine that bucket filling with fresh,

Cold,

Clean water.

Feel the bucket getting heavy in your hands.

And we'll count up from one to five as we raise the bucket,

Bringing that flow,

That creativity,

That ease,

That healing,

Whatever it is that was waiting for you deep within your well,

Your holy well.

Up,

Up,

Up.

With the breath,

Breathing in one.

Breathing out one.

Letting that bucket come up.

Breathing in two.

Breathing out,

Raising that bucket a little more.

Three.

Pulling on that rope,

Raising the bucket.

Now you can see the bucket and you can see the water.

You bring the bucket close to you.

And you can feel a sense of aliveness in this water.

You notice that there is a dipping cup on the side of the well.

Dip into the bucket with the cup.

Raise the cup to your lips.

And as you drink in the air,

Imagine that you are drinking in the water.

Feeling the water,

Feeling the air come into you.

Breathing through your mouth.

Breathing again through your open mouth.

Feel the coolness.

Letting inspiration,

Letting healing.

Letting intuition,

Flow,

Creativity come into you as you drink deeply,

Breathing deeply.

Letting these waters and this breath spread out to every part of your body,

From the tips of your fingers to the roots of your toes.

Nourishing and cleansing.

Breathing in,

Drinking deeply.

And breathing out.

Now that you've nourished yourself with this water,

We'll sit in silence for a few minutes so you can tune in to what this water is asking you to imagine.

The next time you hear my voice,

We'll come back together.

But for now,

Just sit in silence,

Taking any more deep breaths,

Deep drinks that you need.

Listening.

Begin to bring your awareness back to your breathing.

And it's time to leave this place.

But you can come back at any time.

This is your sacred place,

Your well.

Anytime you need inspiration or encouragement,

You can drink deeply from this well,

Deep within you.

Bring your awareness to the forest scene and in whatever way makes sense to you,

Offer thanks.

And walk yourself back along the forest path,

Hearing again the running water.

Stream and walk yourself back into your physical body.

Bringing awareness and gentle movement into your limbs.

Together,

We'll take a deep breath in.

And let that go.

One more time,

Breathing in deep.

And let that go.

Washing away,

Cleansing.

One more time,

Because three is a magic number,

Breathing in.

And let that go.

And when you're ready,

You can gently flutter your eyes open,

Taking some long blinks.

Coming back into this physical space.

I would highly suggest reaching for some water,

Hydrating,

Recalling this practice,

Imagining that water coming into you and replenishing your spirit and your body.

As you move around,

Stretching,

Drinking water,

Getting used to being back.

I'll leave you with a song.

Thank you for your practice.

Sitting in stillness,

Taking my time of possibility,

It was the way.
