Feeling safe in the body is the foundation of all healing—emotional, spiritual, and physical. When we feel secure in our physical being, our nervous system shifts from a state of defence to one of balance, allowing us to access our inner resources. Safety in the body creates the groundwork for emotional healing by enabling us to process and release stored trauma. It also supports spiritual growth by fostering a sense of connection and presence. Physically, a sense of safety promotes relaxation, essential for the body’s natural healing mechanisms to function optimally. Without this sense of safety, deeper healing becomes difficult, as the body and mind remain in survival mode. Thus, cultivating bodily safety is the first and most crucial step toward true transformation.

Hello everybody and welcome.

Today we are going to talk about the strong connection between feeling safe and emotional,

Physical and spiritual healing.

If your body does not feel safe,

You won't be able to heal,

Prosper and connect with your environment.

Many people do not realize that they have spent years in a survival state.

Years of heavy stress,

Traumatic events,

Traumatic childhood,

Difficult experiences keep our body in a state of alert and tension.

The message is you are not safe as you are.

The body always feels alert,

Under pressure,

Restless and at some point it becomes addicted to this state.

We enter a loop of behavior that repeats every time we feel a crisis,

A danger.

And we start to use coping mechanisms,

Addictions or substances to manage this pressure that we feel,

This feeling of not being safe,

Not being enough,

Not having enough.

The secret is to bring the body back to safety.

Safety,

It's a visceral feeling,

It's a visceral sensation.

When a body feels safe,

The bowels are relaxed,

The breath is slow and deep and we feel safe both in the world and in our immediate circle.

But everyday life in this modern society threatens this feeling of safety.

Some of us never felt safe since childhood.

With narcissistic parents,

With abuse,

Physical,

Verbal,

And in adulthood the message that we receive often from our society is that we are never safe as we are.

There is always pressure to do more,

To be more,

To work more,

To please more.

So the message that our body receives is that we are never safe and our alarm state,

Our hypervigilance never really stops.

We are also bombarded by danger that are not physical,

They're not real.

They are perceived,

But they're not really real,

Like taxes,

Bills,

Deadlines,

Fear on a global scale like wars and terrorism and sickness and diseases.

A body that is constantly feeling unsafe is a body that struggles.

The bowels become tense,

We breathe really shallow,

We can't sleep,

We have anxiety,

Panic attack,

We can't digest.

And if we stay in this state for a long time,

It's really easy to develop physical diseases,

Mental diseases,

And the energy doesn't flow.

We cannot prosper and expand because we are busy trying to survive.

Our body becomes more familiar with unsafety than safety,

So we almost become more addicted to chaos and drama and stress because our bodies start to release adrenalines and endorphins and we feel that more familiar than a state of safety.

In the animal world,

I will make the example of the gazelle.

When the gazelle is in nature,

She feels safe.

She breeds,

She plays,

She eats,

She watches the sunset,

She can smell the wind and the grass,

And she can play with the other animals of the pack.

But when a danger arrives,

Like a predator,

The gazelle enters a state of tension.

The body has detected a danger,

And so the body is ready to flight or fight or fawn,

And the body starts to release adrenalines,

Endorphins,

According to what is the best for the situation.

But let's say that the danger is gone.

Let's say that the predator is now away.

The gazelle will spend five to ten minutes trying to bring herself back to safety.

So the gazelle will shake the body.

It will shake it,

Shake it,

Shake it,

Trying to communicate to every cell of the body that the danger is gone and we can calm down and we can close this survival response.

Now we are back to safety.

For humans,

This mechanism has been kind of forgotten.

We are constantly bombarded by those perceived danger that our body is constantly feeling in danger.

We forgot how to close this natural response.

And so many people end up living every day a life in which they don't feel safe.

Their bowels are tense,

They cannot digest,

They don't breathe deeply,

They breathe really shallow,

They have anxiety,

Depression,

Panic attacks,

And every day look like a battle.

Safety is not something that we can achieve through the mind.

Safety is something that needs to be restored in the body.

We need to understand what are the things or the situations that push us in alarm state and finding techniques that will help us to bring our body back to safety.

We need to create a life that supports safety,

A life that supports the well-being of the body.

When we do that,

The healing becomes much easier.

In a fear state,

Our body creates visceral contraction,

Heart acceleration,

Gastric issues,

Heart diseases,

Panic attacks,

Anxiety,

Depression,

And shutdown or burnout.

So,

Due to those knowledge,

We can start to point down all the things that create this unsafety in our body.

We can point them down and teach our body how to feel safe no matter what.

Because this society,

It's created upon fear.

This society,

It's almost created on purpose for a person not to ever feel safe and enough as he is.

So,

Once we become aware of this,

We can learn how to bring our body back to safety,

How to feel safe in the world,

In our immediate circle.

And when we finally feel safe,

Everything changes.

Because when we feel safe,

The environment responds differently to us and we respond differently to our environment.

So,

In order to heal,

No matter if it's healing from a physical disease or a mental disease or an emotional issue,

We need to start by bringing back safety into our body.

I hope that this was interesting and see you next time.

Namaste.
