How will you prioritize connection today?

To be seen.

To be heard.

To witness another.

To witness yourself truly seeing yourself.

I invite you to take three deep breaths.

With every breath,

Tell yourself,

Hello.

And as you're saying hello,

I also invite you to layer on a loving embrace.

Maybe a hug,

Squeezing your arms or your legs,

Or maybe just embracing your face.

We often walk through our days,

Weeks,

And even years without checking in with ourselves.

So I invite you to reintroduce yourself.

Hello,

Old friend.

Can we truly allow ourselves to be connected to others if we're not truly connected to ourselves first?

If you haven't already,

I invite you to close your eyes.

Continue to breathe deeply,

Filling your belly and all the nooks and crannies of yourself that haven't had this kind of nourishment in a while.

Fill yourself up with this loving breath.

Let its warm glow spread through you,

Head to fingertips and toes.

Now I invite you to imagine someone's face.

Maybe it's an old friend,

Someone you haven't seen or talked to in a while.

Maybe it's your partner,

Someone you may see every day but haven't truly seen them in a while.

Maybe it's your child.

When's the last time you truly connected with your child?

Maybe it's yourself.

Now imagine that you are sitting across from that person.

What do you see?

What details can you make out in their face or their body language or in the way that they're sitting or holding themselves?

What would you like to tell this person?

Is there something you've been holding back?

Is there something you wish you could say?

I invite you to say it,

Either out loud or just in this imaginary world we're visiting.

Now I invite you to turn the tables.

What would you actually like to hear from this person?

Imagine that they are saying this now.

Allow yourself to take it in.

Allow yourself to be seen by this person.

To be held by their words.

What does it feel like in your body to sit and be witnessed?

What does it feel like to be told the words you've been longing for?

Where do they land in your body?

Get curious about the feelings that may arise.

Now I'll pause for a few moments to allow you to bask in this glory of being witnessed.

Continue to imagine that these words are being offered to you like a comforting,

Gentle breeze.

Allow the breeze to blow through your hair,

Across your cheek.

Take it in.

When you're ready,

I invite you back into this space.

If you're laying down,

Make your way back up into a seated position.

Give yourself another little hello.

Welcome back.

And now I will ask you again.

How will you prioritize connection today?

Maybe just this activity was enough,

And that's wonderful.

Or maybe there's an action you're feeling called to take.

Call or text that friend.

Write the letter.

Look into your partner's or child's eyes.

See them.

Tell yourself hello in the mirror.

See you.

I wish you love and connection today.

And always,

My love.
