In this talk in meditation we're going to explore the space element and how it lives within your inner psychological world as well as your outer world.

Then we'll do a meditation where we allow the energy to flow and heal within the chakra that the space element inhabits which is the crown chakra.

I'm coming specifically from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition which I know may differ slightly from other traditions.

I'm a sound therapist and the colors and chakras within that do differ slightly from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition but I don't want us to get caught in details.

What is actually much more important than the visualization is your connection to your body and the felt experience within you.

The nature of the space element is interesting because there actually needs to be space for the other elements to exist.

The space enables movement and form.

Space has the nature of allowing and enabling.

It's impartial.

Space is at ease with everything that needs to arise.

Space can be a place of clarity and reflection.

Nowadays space is an element that we really need in our culture.

We tend to fill our lives with so much stuff,

Really busy trying to accomplish and get somewhere.

It could be possibly one of the reasons why you may be drawn to meditation to find more space in your life.

When your space energy is in balance there's a sense of openness within.

You don't feel too tight or too loose.

If you have an excess of space energy you might feel spaced out or disconnected.

You could have a lack of present awareness or feel ungrounded or unclear of where to go or what to do.

You could feel like there's a lack of boundaries and form.

If you have too little space you can feel very tight and stressed and under pressure.

Small things can become inflamed and overwhelming and your life can feel very cluttered inside with a sense of contraction and solidity within.

So do you get a sense of how the space element lives within you?

Whether you resonate with it or not.

Maybe you feel like you have too much space or not enough space.

However it is within you it's perfectly fine just as it is.

Just notice what you feel,

Allow it to be and allow it to come alive and to come to you.

To heal within you.

The space element inhabits your crown chakra which can be felt right at the top of your head,

The crown of your head.

Its color is white.

In the meditation we'll go through the stages of deepening into ourselves.

Bringing in the color white will allow it to expand and clear,

Cleanse and heal and resonate at its ideal frequency.

While we're resting and allowing within the crown chakra,

Here instead of silent spaces I'll gently play my crown chakra crystal bowl.

This can really help you to rest and let go and allow space.

As you hear it let the resonance support you to allow a softening and an opening and a clearing of the crown chakra.

You don't need to worry about trying to remember everything.

Just relax and let go and I will guide you through each step.

Before we start,

Find yourself somewhere comfortable to sit.

On a meditation cushion or on a chair or if you need to you can lie down.

As long as you're comfortable and your body can relax.

It's good to sit with your back straight and tall with fresh air coming in your lungs.

But don't be too rigid,

Allow a sense of movement.

Let's start by bringing your awareness to your breath.

Awareness of your breath within your body.

You can become aware of the feelings and sensations of your lungs and ribs and abdomen rising and falling with each in-breath and each out-breath.

Take part of your awareness to the ground of your being.

To the feelings and sensations of the ground or the cushion pushing up from below you,

Supporting you.

The feelings and sensations of the weight of your legs or your pelvic floor and really allow your whole body to relax deeply into that sense of ground supporting you.

Holding you.

At any point if you get distracted,

Don't worry about it or there's no need to push it away.

Just allow the distraction to arise and then move through.

So just let it be and then gently bring your awareness back to your breath,

Back into feelings and sensations within your body and relax back down into your ground again.

As you relax into that sense of ground,

Bring your awareness up into the trunk of your body and notice any feelings and sensations within your trunk.

Whatever is there,

Give it space and allow it to be as it is.

Move how it needs to move as you relax and breathe.

Allow your awareness to expand now to the rest of your body,

Back down into your legs,

To your arms,

Your head until you become aware of feelings and sensations within your whole body as you relax.

If you feel yourself trying too hard or if you're distracted again,

You might notice some kind of holding or contraction within your body.

Allow that part of your body to let go and relax again.

Remember to hold your space with the sense of compassion and then gently again bring your awareness back to your breath,

Back into feelings and sensations within your body,

Relax back down into your ground and allow your awareness to expand to feelings and sensations within your whole body again.

As you rest in feelings and sensations within your whole body,

Allow your awareness to open to a sense of spaciousness within your body.

This can happen naturally by continuously relaxing,

Letting go and allowing space within,

Allowing your awareness to open to a sense of spaciousness.

As you rest within that space,

Bring your awareness now to your crown chakra.

Your crown chakra can be felt somewhere at the top of your head,

The crown of your head.

It doesn't need to be precise,

Just bring your awareness to that area and notice any feelings and sensations there.

You become aware of a small radiant drop,

A lessened white light within your crown chakra.

Allow that drop of light to radiate out,

Filling your body with feelings of allowing,

Letting go,

Spaciousness.

Now allow that light to gently,

Softly evaporate,

Leaving you in your body filled with feelings of spaciousness,

Clarity.

As we finish this meditation,

You're left with the radiant pearl of white light resting and radiating in your crown chakra as a connection to the space element within you.

At any point in your day,

If you feel like you really need that sense of space and letting go,

Remember that you have this energy and the drop of pearlescent white light within you at all times.

You can just connect to it and allow its radiance to shine,

Helping you to feel spacious and open.

The space element is one of the five elements that lives within your inner psychological world as well as your outer world.

The other elements are earth,

Air,

Water and fire and there's a very natural dynamic play of the elements within you.

Some we'll find are very alive within us and we have a strong connection to.

And others we may feel like we have a lack of.

If you're interested and you'd like to learn more about each element,

How it lives within you and the dynamic play between all of them,

You can take a look at my course,

The Elements and Chakras Within You,

Brought to Life with Sound,

Where I one by one explore each element,

Helping you to connect to them and get an insight into how they live within you.
