Finding peace with fear.
A guided meditation.
Welcome to this space.
Choose some comfort for yourself right now.
Settle in to a position that feels natural and supportive.
You might choose to sit in a chair with your feet touching the ground or lie down on the floor sofa or bed.
Take a moment to adjust letting your body find its place of ease.
Feel supported.
Feel secure.
Feel settled.
And then take a deep gentle breath in through your nose.
Feeling your lungs fill gently.
As you exhale allow your shoulders to release.
Unclench your jaw and relax your forehead.
Continue breathing naturally.
Notice how each breath brings a deepening of relaxation to your body.
I invite you to acknowledge any fears or worries that might be present in your mind or body at this moment.
Perhaps you're carrying concerns about work,
Family,
Health or the future.
Whatever fears are visiting you today know that it's perfectly okay for them to be here.
Breathe gently.
Fear is an ancient companion that has walked alongside humanity since the beginning.
It's a natural part of being human like joy,
Love or sadness.
Just as the sky holds both sunshine and storm clouds,
You too can hold steady for both courage and fear.
Imagine your fear as a visitor knocking at the door.
Instead of rushing to bolt the lock,
Try gently opening the door and saying,
I see you there fear.
Notice what happens when you acknowledge your fear with kindness rather than resistance.
Feel the sensations that fear brings to your body.
Perhaps there's tightness in your chest,
Butterflies in your stomach or tension in your shoulders.
Without trying to change anything,
Simply observe these sensations with gentle curiosity.
And breathe.
You are so much more than your fears.
You are the vast calm awareness that notices these feelings.
Just as the ocean isn't defined by a single wave,
You aren't defined by any single emotion or thought.
Bring to mind a moment when you faced a fear and moved forward.
Perhaps it was speaking up in a meeting,
Making an important change in your life or simply getting through a difficult day.
Feel that quiet strength that lives within you,
Always available like an underground spring of cool,
Clear water.
As you connect with this inner strength,
Imagine it as a warm golden light in your heart.
With each breath,
This light grows stronger and brighter.
Let it spread throughout your body,
Bringing comfort and courage to any places holding fear or tension.
Know that it's possible to move forward in life,
Even when fear is present.
You can acknowledge the fear while staying connected to your inner wisdom and strength.
If worrying thoughts arise,
Notice them floating by like leaves on a stream.
You don't need to catch them or push them away.
Simply watch them pass,
Returning your attention to the steady rhythm of your breath.
Take a moment now to offer yourself some words of kindness and encouragement.
Perhaps saying silently to yourself,
I am okay,
I am strong,
I can handle whatever comes my way.
Let these words settle into your heart.
As we begin to draw this meditation to a close,
Know that you can return to this place of calm awareness whenever you need to.
Fear may come and go,
But your inner strength and wisdom remain constant,
Like the depths of the ocean beneath the surface waves.
You can always pause,
Breathe and create space around difficult emotions.
This is a gift you can give yourself at any moment.
Begin to bring a little movement back into your body.
Perhaps wiggle your fingers and toes,
Gently roll your shoulders or stretch in any way that feels good.
Take another breath in and a long breath out and feel stability within you.
Know that you can return to this practice whenever you need to,
Creating the same space of gentle acceptance for whatever you're feeling.
Your feelings are important and you're worthy of patience,
Understanding and care.
Open your eyes whenever you're ready,
Taking a moment to adjust back to your surroundings.
Perhaps be extra gentle with yourself today.
And P.
S.
I believe in you.
