On Team With Your Body

A guided meditation to help you move through your physical body, clearing space, releasing excess, and recalibrating into a more balanced state of being. This is one of my personal faves. The visualization will ramp up quickly so allow yourself to go with it. Invite a relaxed body and open mind so you may explore within your imagination to see yourself separate from your body and then join with your body stronger than before.

Transcript

This is a meditation to strengthen your relationship with the physical body that you're living in.

When you're ready,

Close your eyes,

Begin to breathe into your toes,

And start to feel little swirls and whirls of energy in your toes.

Move to the ball of the foot and imagine opening up a portal,

The chakra in the base of the foot.

And as you breathe,

Let any and all excess gunk stuff you don't need from the day just come right out through the feet.

Take a few breaths and allow the clearing.

Now,

When you're ready,

Begin to root through the feet.

See roots growing out through the feet,

Through the toes,

Through the heels,

All parts of the foot,

Going deep,

Deep to the center of Mother Earth.

And imagine the hand of Mother Earth reaching out from the center.

And little branches come out of each fingertip and meet with your roots.

And just like holding hands,

Your roots hold hands with the Mother,

With Mother Earth.

Allow this to bring a sensation of feeling really rooted,

Grounded,

Stable,

And safe.

With your next breath,

Smile with your eyes closed.

And as you exhale,

Relax your whole body,

Relax your face,

Drop the smile.

And as you exhale,

Relax your whole body,

Relax your face,

Drop the smile.

Relax your chest.

Soften through the belly and the hips.

And relax the legs all the way from hip to toe.

Knowing that Mother Earth has got you.

You're here now and there's nowhere else to be.

Now,

As you breathe,

Send that little whirling,

Swirling energy up through the legs,

Into the hips.

Continue to take deeper,

Slower,

More meaningful breaths,

Inviting opening and clearing all through the pelvis.

If you notice any tightness in this area of your body,

Exhale through your mouth,

Blowing out through pursed lips,

Sending that energy all the way out through the feet.

Continuing to ascend up the body,

Breathing underneath the ribcage,

Aerating into the heart,

Feeling an opening through the back and through the chest,

Sending whirls and swirls of air up and under the collarbone,

Into the base of the throat,

Into the whole of the neck,

Finally up into the base of the skull,

Moving up into the areas of the ears,

Filling the entire head now,

And shooting up and out through the top of the head.

Again,

With your inhale,

Smile.

And with your exhale,

Drop the facial muscles,

Blow out through pursed lips,

Relax your body.

And one last time,

Inhale and smile,

Soft and easy.

Exhale,

Relax the face,

Relax the body,

And then slowly,

Slowly,

Slowly,

Slowly,

Relax the face,

Relax the body,

Any excess goes out through the bottoms of the feet.

Invite stillness in this moment.

Bring your physical body into stillness,

Not moving,

No shifting,

No flinching,

No scratching,

Just sitting.

Still,

Comfortable,

Safe,

And rooted.

Now,

Looking up and out through the third eye,

That space right in the center of your forehead,

Your eyes are closed,

And with your eyes closed,

You're sending your focus up and then out through that space.

Begin to see a movie screen in front of you.

And on one side of the screen is your body,

The physical body you're in right now.

And on the other side of the screen is you.

However you picture that,

Maybe it's a ball of light,

Maybe it's an effervescent kind of mist,

Maybe it's a unicorn,

Whatever feels good to you,

Let this be fun and easy.

But choose something that looks different than the physical body that you live in right now,

Because you are not your body.

You have a body,

You live in a body,

But you are not your body.

Take a second to breathe that in and notice how it feels.

Does it feel like truth or do you find yourself pushing against it?

Is it something that feels like,

Duh,

Of course,

Or do you start to constrict?

Whatever your response,

See the rightness and the possibility.

And with your next inhale and exhale,

Imagine that you're shaking it all off,

Imagine that you're shaking it all off,

But your body stays very still.

In your mind,

See yourself shaking it all off,

Relaxing in.

Now look out through the third eye at that screen,

You and your body,

Your body on the left,

You on the right.

And begin to interact with the body,

Reminding it that you're on the same team and you're so grateful to be on the same team.

Maybe you feel moved to apologize for not listening to the body's communication,

Signs,

Aches,

Pains,

Feelings in your body of knowings.

Maybe it feels like a celebration.

Hey,

Thanks body for communicating so clearly.

And I'm so excited to continue to develop and learn this language with you so that we can be the most important part of your life.

The most effective team.

Just spend the next minute or so,

Just a short period of time in conversation with the body.

You'll hear my voice when it's time to continue.

Now in your vision,

Begin to walk towards your body.

Maybe you float,

Maybe you just think of the body and you're there.

And give your body a hug.

And then when you're ready,

Allow your true self,

That light,

Or however you envision it,

To step into the body like a glove and to begin to fit perfectly into every space.

Your light filling the body,

Animating the feet,

Able to move around the knees and the elbows,

Feeling your power center right there beneath the ribcage area of the diaphragm,

Clicking into place,

And feeling very sure of your power in this moment.

Feeling your heart reside,

Beam,

Animating this entire body.

Feeling what it is to have a mind.

And in your vision,

Take your body for a spin.

As if you're discovering it for the first time,

What do you want to do?

Run,

Jump,

Laugh,

Touch all parts of yourself,

Stick your arms out in front of you and explore them.

In your mind's eye,

Get to know this body in a way that may be surprising.

That you've not done yet,

Or noticed,

Or been available to see.

You're doing it exactly right.

Stay with the vision and let it unfold really quickly.

And can you memorize an aspect of this moment?

Some form of ease,

Gratitude,

To be able to have a body,

This particular body,

In this particular moment.

And begin to thank it for letting you swallow.

For letting you have senses.

For letting you move through life.

To have conversations and to feel love.

For letting you move through life.

For letting you move through life.

To have conversations and to feel love.

And you may stay here for as long as you like.

Or if you're ready and you feel united.

You feel embodied,

You feel in this body of yours.

Take three breaths.

From the toes all the way out through the top of the head.

Feeling deeply held again by the earth.

Thanking her for holding this body in place so you could safely explore it.

And then when you're ready,

You may open your eyes.

Grab your journal and take note of anything that felt like you want to remember it.

It's so cool to live in a body.

Enjoy it today.

It's yours.
