Welcome to Ipek and Tara's Threads of Light,
A talk series that illuminates the path to a brighter and more meaningful life.
Join us as we set sail on a journey of self-discovery,
Transformation,
And shared wisdom.
Hello and welcome to another episode of Threads of Light.
I am excited to continue with the topic of intuition,
As it is a very meaningful one for me,
And I know it's the same for you,
Tara.
And we love talking about topics that are both fascinating and incredibly relevant to our lives.
Today,
We will be exploring the pathways to intuition.
If you haven't listened to our previous episode about intuition,
It might be a good idea to listen to that one before diving into this episode.
To begin our exploration,
I would like to share a quote that will bring us insights and help us reflect on this topic.
It's a quote from Maya Angelou.
She says,
We all have the ability to listen to the intuitive voice within.
It's a matter of tuning in.
This quote beautifully captures the essence of our discussion today.
It reminds us that our intuition is a profound guide that encourages us to listen to our inner voice as we navigate life's complexities.
As you might already know,
Intuition is often described as that inner knowing or gut feeling that guides us in our decision making.
It's that quiet voice that can lead us to the right choices when we take the time to listen.
Yes,
That's true,
But how we can better connect with this inner wisdom,
Recognize its signals and allow it to inform our choices.
Now let's dive deeper into this subject and see what Tara has to share with us.
Tara?
Thank you for the thought-provoking opening,
Ipek.
I have been reflecting on this very much recently and giving more attention to how intuition flows is indeed very interesting and unique.
Among many pathways,
It's been suggested by others to pay attention to our dreams as a pathway to intuition,
If you can recall them.
But gut feelings or body-based signs and emotions or thoughts are just as important.
So as I explore my personal pathways,
I'm learning that my intuition flows from feelings or senses and thoughts versus dreams.
While my subconscious thoughts and dreams may have messages,
It's very difficult for me at this time to recall,
So I'm listening more to my gut feelings and thoughts.
Our body is truly a complex center of biologic function and energy.
And I was reading recently that the heart and the brain communicate in a two-way dialogue through neurologic,
Biochemical,
Biophysical and energetic means,
And that the vagus nerve carries information from the heart to the brain.
So in the context of pathways to intuition,
I found this very interesting and want to share an expert from the HeartMath Institute.
They state that traditionally,
The study of communication pathways between the head and heart has been approached from a rather one-sided perspective,
With scientists focusing primarily on the heart's response to the brain's commands.
And it's recently been learned that communication between the heart and the brain actually is a dynamic,
Ongoing two-way dialogue,
With each organ continuously influencing the other's function.
Research has also shown that the heart communicates to the brain in four major ways,
Neurologically through the transmission of nerve impulses,
Biochemically via hormone and neurotransmitters,
Biophysically through pressure waves,
And energetically through electromagnetic field interactions.
Communication along all of these conduits significantly affect the brain's activity.
Moreover,
The research shows that messages the heart sends to the brain also can affect performance.
So our energetic field communicates internally and externally.
And while this is a more scientific explanation leading up to intuition,
I find it intriguing because my pathway to intuition seems to be more aligned with this connection and processing of emotions or feelings beyond the mind or rational brain.
This also has me thinking about my gut feelings with a new and different lens.
And as we know,
The gut is often referred to as the second brain,
Which is also connected by the way of the vagus nerve as our internal transmitter of signals.
So that is a lot of food for thought,
Ipek.
But I'd love to hear you share more about your experiences.
Thank you,
Tara.
Yes,
It has been very thought-provoking.
And it's important,
In my opinion,
To talk about how our bodies communicate our intuition.
And thank you for sharing this information with us.
You know,
I've had some eye-opening experiences where my physical sensations really pointed me toward my inner truth.
For example,
I remember a time when I was considering taking on a new project.
At first,
I felt this rush of excitement.
Everything seemed thrilling and full of potential.
But soon after that initial thrill went away,
I started feeling a tightness in my chest.
That was anxiety.
The sensation you feel when something just doesn't sit right.
It was like my body was sending me a signal,
Saying,
Hey,
Slow down and think about this.
I realized my intuition was telling me that this opportunity was not really aligned with my path,
My values,
Or my ultimate goals.
So I made the choice to step back.
It was tough,
But I knew I needed to listen to that feeling in my body.
And on the flip side,
There's another moment that stands out for me.
One where my intuition really guided me in a positive direction.
I received an invitation to lead a workshop on a topic that I was very passionate about for administrative professionals.
A very special group of people near and dear to my heart because of my background as an executive assistant myself for more than 20 years.
As I thought about it,
I felt this warm sensation in my heart,
Almost like a gentle hug.
It was like this wave of energy was saying,
Yes,
This is absolutely right for you.
That feeling reassured me that this opportunity truly resonated with my passion for teaching and connecting with those amazing administrative professionals.
And after reflecting on it,
I realized that leading this workshop aligned perfectly with my values and goals.
So I jumped in with both feet.
These experiences really highlight how intuition can communicate through our bodies.
When I feel tense or uneasy about a decision,
It's often a sign that I need to pause and reconsider.
But when I feel relaxed and uplifted,
Like I did with the workshop,
It's a strong indicator that I'm on the right track.
So how do we tune into these messages from our bodies?
For me,
Creating a bit of space for reflection has been key.
Simple things like taking a few deep breaths or even just pausing for a moment can really help.
It's about allowing ourselves to be present and listening to what our bodies are telling us.
For instance,
When I'm faced with a decision,
I'll often ask myself,
How does this make me feel in my body?
I pay attention to any sensations,
Like butterflies in my stomach or that familiar tightness in my chest.
It's amazing how much insight we can gain when we take a moment to check in with ourselves.
And I've also found that regular meditation really helps me create that space to listen to my inner voice.
In addition to meditation,
I have started to embrace the practice of mindful movement like yoga or even a simple walk outside.
Moving my body helps me connect with those subtle cues.
And when I'm walking,
I pay attention to how I feel with each step.
If something feels off,
I take note of it.
If I feel a sense of ease,
I embrace that as a sign I'm on the right path.
As we dig into this topic today,
I encourage our listeners to think about your own experiences with intuition.
What kinds of physical sensations have you noticed when faced with a decision?
How does your body communicate when your intuition is guiding you?
After asking these questions,
I'm passing the mic to you,
Tara,
For you to share your closing thoughts and insights.
Thank you,
Ipek.
My experience with intuition is evolving.
And as I pause and get quiet,
My discovery and awareness increases.
The innate power of the heart plays an integral role in shaping intuitive feelings.
And I think this is truly what I call mind bending,
Both literally and figuratively.
This perspective opens the door to the idea of our collective connection,
Which tunes into energetic fields coming from cellular levels that transform into the signs and signals we can think of as intuition.
And I just realized in this whole exercise how much I use the word think versus being.
And on that note,
I offer a personal affirmation.
My intuition comes from being in sync with signals from my heart.
So beautiful.
Thank you for this,
Tara.
Thank you for listening.
We hope you found this episode insightful.
If so,
Please share it with others.
Until we reunite under the cosmic embrace of our next episode,
May your days be filled with the brilliance of your unique light.
Take each step with purpose and let the threads of light guide you.
