Welcome back!

My name is Samantha Linden,

Also known as the Blissful Soul.

This is our series,

Happy Hormones,

A 30-day gut reset for women.

If you haven't started from day one yet,

I highly recommend doing so to maximize your success and understanding.

Yesterday,

During our talk,

We discussed progesterone.

As we mentioned earlier,

Progesterone appears between the 21st and 30th days of your cycle.

To support progesterone production,

It's important to avoid fasting because it can increase cortisol levels.

While fasting can be beneficial for giving your body rest,

Removing toxins and sugars,

And repairing cells,

It can also stress your body and potentially disrupt hormone balance when fasting for too long during the wrong time of your cycle.

During this phase,

It's essential to be mindful and limit activities that could spike cortisol.

Instead of intense workouts,

Engage in relaxing activities like taking a walk in nature,

Practicing yoga,

Or meditating.

It's also okay to indulge in healthy starchy foods during this time.

Your body craves them,

And embracing these cravings can help your hormones function properly.

Think of it like fueling your car with the right type of gas.

Instead of grabbing a sugary drink,

Give yourself what your body needs at each stage so your hormones can flourish.

Often,

We get caught up in high-intensity or low-carb diets.

However,

It's important to listen to our bodies when they ask for things like sweet potatoes.

Your hormones are communicating their needs,

Signaling that you need rest and relaxation.

We do not want to ignore the signals our body is telling us.

Enjoy that starchy meal without feeling guilty.

Treat your body and hormones like friends who need comfort and support.

Listen to their guidance and respond appropriately to help them balance.

In return,

They will support you and make you feel great over the long term.

For too long,

We have been told we need to eat the same foods all the time,

And it has made our bodies suffer.

Embrace your body with the right nourishment and self-care.

We often are afraid to slow down or say no.

However,

This is the time of the month when it is more important than ever.

If you need extra time for yourself or another meditation session,

Take it.

If you need a massage,

Schedule it.

You deserve it.

I hope this explains why different foods are better suited for different times of the month.

Tomorrow,

We'll discuss when estrogen levels start to decline and why you might consider taking action.

In the meantime,

Continue nourishing your body and perhaps try a new recipe you've been thinking about.

I'll be back soon to chat more.
