Begin this exploration by settling into a comfortable position.

Allow your body to become softly comfortable in a restful state.

And allow the rhythm of your breath to just flow naturally.

If you wish,

Allow your eyelids to close,

And maybe allow a gentle sigh to escape your lips as you release the tensions of the day.

Sink gently into the soft space within your system,

Where you find comfort,

Peace,

And a little sense of being the same you that you were when you were 3 years old.

When you were 10 years old.

The same you that knows how it feels to be you at every age in your life.

Behind or beneath the mental chatter of our day-to-day lives,

Beneath the monkey mind,

The planning,

The work,

There is a you who exists beyond all of the mundane things of our day-to-day lives.

It's a constant that has been you throughout your whole life.

Consider the idea of who it was who observed you when you first ate bananas.

Who was it who observed the action of the first time you rode a bike?

What is the sensation of the you that looks back at you when you look into the mirror?

Behind the thoughts is the truth of who you are,

And this is what they call the consciousness of you,

The silent witness,

The observer.

However,

When you start to differentiate the feeling sensations of being the witness from the feeling sensations of the thinking mind,

You can start to understand that you are not your thoughts.

They may seem to run your life,

But they are not who you are.

So in this moment,

Rest as the silent witness and experience that soft,

Loving,

Peaceful and compassionate sensation that comes from existing as this state of you.

This is the truth of who you are,

And every time you return to this soft feeling awareness,

You build or rebuild your connection with existing as this true self.

So simply move your thinking mind or your awareness softly behind you.

You may want to visualize that there is a part of you that is like an energetic shell that moves backwards.

Perhaps you can move it 3 feet,

10 feet,

20 feet behind you,

And as you allow this thinking mind to ease off from filling every pore of your body,

Bring in the intention of allowing your silent witness to step in.

In truth,

It's already there,

But when we create this intention of bringing it in and allowing it to fill the spaces of your body,

You give your true self permission to be present.

To be the intuition that supports your decisions.

To create synchronicities for you that guide the different facets of your life.

Softly continue to move your mental awareness back,

Farther away,

As you bring in more deeply,

More deeply,

More thoroughly,

More lovingly,

The silent witness into the forefront.

For the next few moments,

Just allow yourself to bathe in the experience of existing as the silent witness.

For any thoughts that come through,

Simply allow them to come and to go.

It is counterproductive to judge yourself for the thoughts that come.

The more we wrestle with them,

The more they persist.

But the less that we run with them and follow them,

The more we can allow ourselves to be free to experience just being.

So just be.

As you continue to softly rest in this state of gentle compassion,

You may wish to ask your higher self a pressing question,

Or you may wish to communicate a curiosity,

And so if you wish,

Ask your true self your question.

Ask it once and then rest as you simply,

Softly allow messages to come through for you.

They may come in the form of words,

Colors,

Images,

Sensations,

Or a simple sense of knowing.

But one of the keys to allowing these messages to come through is to quiet the thinking mind,

Letting it fade into the background,

And holding the intention of only receiving the highest truth.

If you feel that you've received a message,

Feel a silent sensation of gratitude for your higher self,

For the communication,

And spend a few more moments experiencing whatever it is that the witness feels like for you,

Often the sense of peace and quietness combined with an increase in the energy flow in the body can signify that we have let go of some of the monkey mind and are allowing the peace that comes from the universe,

From source,

From beyond our small human selves.

We're tapping into something greater that is intelligent and loving,

That is helping us heal every time we tap in.

The awareness of it allows it to flow through you,

To balance you,

And to help you remember that this is your true and natural state.

Allow your cells,

Your physical form,

Your emotional body,

Your mental body,

Your spiritual self to all remember the truth of who you are and let this new peaceful state become closer and closer to being your default state of operation.

And as you gently receive a deeper and deeper connection with your true self and as it fuses into healing your cells and healing every imbalance that you wish to be healed,

Gradually connect with the sensation of your physical body as it receives this healing and you can wiggle your toes,

Rotate your ankles,

Wiggle your fingers and rotate your wrists and reconnect with the sounds of the environment around you.

Bring this refreshed sense of who you are into your day as you move forward knowing that the peace and joy that you seek is your birthright and already exists within you.
