Lesson 173.
Review Lessons 155 and 156.
God is love and therefore so am I.
I will step back and let God lead the way.
There is a way of living in the world that is not here,
Although it seems to be.
We do not change appearance.
We smile more frequently.
Our forehead is serene and our eyes are quiet.
The people who walk the world as we do recognize their own.
Those who have not yet perceived the way will recognize us also and believe that we are like them as we were before.
Saying to yourself,
Say in your mind,
I will step back and let God lead the way,
For I would walk along the road to God.
I will step back and let God lead the way,
For I would walk along the road to God.
The world is an illusion.
Those of us who choose to come to this world are seeking a place where we can actually be illusions and avoid our higher self and avoid who we really are.
Yet,
When we do find our higher self,
It is even here in this world.
We step back and we let our higher self lead the way.
What other choice is really ours to make?
To let illusions walk the head of truth is madness,
But to let illusion sink behind the truth and let the truth stand forth as what it is,
Is merely sanity.
This is the simple choice we make today.
We practice gladly with this thought today.
Say to yourself,
I will step back and let God lead the way,
For I would walk along the road to God.
Ponder on this.
I will step back and let God lead the way,
For I would walk along the road to God.
All illusions walking in the way you traveled will be gone from you as well.
Nothing will be left to keep the truth apart from God's completion,
To keep the truth holy as God himself.
Walk safely now,
Walk carefully,
Because this path is new to you and you may find that you are tempted still to walk ahead of truth and let illusions be your guide.
Step back in faith and let truth lead the way.
You know not where you go,
But the one who knows goes with you,
So let God lead you.
God is love,
And therefore so am I.
Now God asks,
You think of him a while each day.
He may speak to you and tell you of his love.
I will step back and let God lead the way.
I would walk along the road to God.
Steady our feet,
Let our doubts be quiet,
Let our holy minds be still and speak to us.
We have no words to give to you.
We will listen to your word and make it ours.
Lead our practicing,
As does a father lead a little child.
Along a way they do not understand,
Yet do they follow,
Sure that they are safe,
Because their father leads the way for them.
So do we bring our practicing to you.
If we stumble,
We know you will raise us up.
If we forget the way,
We count upon your sure remembering.
If we wander off,
We know you will not forget to call us back.
Quicken our footsteps,
Now that we may walk more certainly and quickly unto you.
We accept the word you offer us to unify our practicing,
As we review the thoughts that you have given us in these lessons.
God is love,
And therefore,
So am I.

In perfect,
The basic thought so often mentioned in the text of A Course in Miracles is,
Ideas leave not their source.
If this is true,
How can you be apart from God?
How could you walk the world alone and separate from your Source?
Now ask yourself,
Who walks with me?
Who walks with me?
This question should be asked a thousand times a day,
Until certainty has ended doubting and established peace.
We cannot walk the world apart from God,
Because we could not be without God.
God is what our life is.
Where we are,
There is that life we share with God.
Nothing can be apart from God and live.
We cannot be apart from our Source.
There is a light in us,
Which cannot die.
There is a light in us,
Whose presence is so holy that the world is sanctified because of us.
This light in us is what the universe longs to behold.
All living things are still before us.
For all living things recognize who walks with us.
The light we carry is the light in all living things,
And thus they see in each of us their holiness.
Ask yourself,
Who walks with me?
As we ask this question a thousand times today and every day,
We let doubting cease.
We let peace be established.
God speaks for you in answering your question.
Say to yourself,
Say in your mind,
I walk with God in perfect holiness.
I light the world.
I light my mind.
I light all the minds which God created,
One with me.
Ponder on this.
I walk with God in perfect holiness.
I light the world.
I light my mind.
I light all the minds God created,
One with me.
In my defenselessness,
My safety lies with God.
Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God.
