I invite you to spend a few minutes with me,
Sitting on a rock alongside the North Sea in sunny Scotland,
Taking a moment to settle into this space,
Imagining placing anything on a shelf that you want to set aside as you let yourself savor and sink into the beauty of this space with me for just a few minutes.
You can take a gentle breath,
Inhaling and exhaling in whatever way feels most comfortable for your body,
Imagining that you're right here with me on these large rocks lining the coast,
Watching the waves of the sea crash into some rocks in the distance,
Jumping and spraying up as they meet each other,
Suspended in the air for a moment before they crash down and spill over those rocks,
Almost like a dance that doesn't have an exact rhythm but falls perfectly into place in its own cadence.
The sun is behind you,
Low and stretching across fields,
Stretching across a coastal path behind you,
Casting long shadows and reflections over pools of water,
Pools of water that were left from the high tide earlier today that are now still only gently rippling when the light breeze brushes against the surface.
The surface of the water is reflecting the stones around it,
The blue sky above with fluffy white clouds that are moving across the sky,
Inching along,
Almost hovering and floating,
Moving perfectly in sync with the breeze.
Down the coast,
There are birds flying above the waves that are crashing into the rocks.
The air looks misty in the distance with the rocks and the waves almost smudging into each other like a painting as far as your eyes can see.
You can stay here as long as you would like,
Pressing pause to extend your time,
Simply savoring this or letting your mind playfully fill in any more imagery or story.
Whenever you're ready,
We'll shift back into the space that you are currently in.
Taking a few moments to start to wiggle your toes,
Ankles,
Fingers and wrists.
Gently rolling your shoulders up,
Back and down.
Maybe stretching your whole body from the tips of your fingers to the tips of your toes,
Lengthening out as much as you can.
And before opening your eyes,
Taking a moment with a hand over your heart,
Abdomen,
Just noticing anything that felt especially sweet.
Anything that you want to take with you into the rest of your day and the rest of your week.
Whenever you're ready,
You can invite one last inhale and exhale,
Re-entering the rest of your day.
