Welcome to active meditation.
In this exercise we explore a meditative remedy for feeling overwhelmed.
As we settle down to prepare for meditation,
We close our eyes to minimize any physical distractions.
To relax our body and mind,
We first remove all expressions,
Tension from our face.
Then we relax all the face muscles.
And we feel the relaxation move from our face to the rest of our body.
We let go of any current annoyances or worries that occupy our mind.
Let go of any immediate concerns or worries.
I'll pause while you do this.
In the process of self-inquiry and detachment,
We recognize our vehicles of expression that we use and need.
We have a body.
We have emotions.
We have desires.
We have an intellect.
We are aware these are instruments of awareness.
We are more than all of this.
And so we ask,
Who am I?
Each one of us is a center of awareness.
The universal,
Timeless,
Omnipresent part of our being.
A real eye.
A permanent eye.
This center of consciousness truly is our higher self.
The I am.
Our immortal,
Conscious presence.
Let's spend a few moments in contemplation,
Thinking about the significance of the self-inquiry and detachment process,
Recognizing what we are not,
And identifying with who we really are,
Our higher self.
I'll be quiet.
Let's cultivate the right mindset for meditation on being overwhelmed.
By focusing on a memory.
A memory in which you were happy,
Pleased with the outcome of something you did.
Bring to mind now this memory,
With the mood of confidence and enthusiasm you felt and enjoyed.
Let this memory remind you of your ability to be successful in many of your endeavors.
Let this memory now.
Let this frame of mind and this mood permeate your thinking now and expectations.
Now consider what you need to focus on in your life right now.
There may be many projects and duties.
There may be many opportunities that lie before us.
There are many issues from the past that may need our care.
But only a few select tasks need our attention right now.
The rest can wait.
We usually can be more effective and efficient as we give our full attention and creativity to a few select areas.
What I select to do right now is more important than the concerns about my past or worrying about my future.
I am comfortable letting go of other items in order to concentrate on what is most important right now.
As I focus all my attention on the time and intentions I have right now,
I can concentrate my creative energies to be successful.
Let's move our attention to what we have to do right now.
Next,
I concentrate on the major reasons for doing what I am about to do.
I consider why my activities are both useful and helpful.
I know that the more reasons I have to be successful,
The greater the likelihood of achieving this success.
So I briefly review why my efforts are important and beneficial to me and others.
I recognize this value because I can draw power from these purposes to help me start and sustain my work.
And finally,
Having made all these preparations,
I now expect a successful outcome for my activities.
In fact,
I can visualize how my success will appear when it is completed.
I also know that genuine success in any endeavor is often a series of achievements that are linked together.
Each small accomplishment is often part of a larger effort.
A major victory is often a combination of many small successes,
Each one a vital link in a change of activities that contribute to a much larger achievement.
We can rest in these thoughts as we invoke our higher self to help us with the power and purpose of worthwhile endeavors to help us move through all our creative activities.
We are now prepared to do and say what will bring into manifestation what we and our higher self are able to accomplish.
Rest in this expectation now.
Let's return to the regular waking state of thoughts,
Feelings and actions.
Fall in all of our instruments of awareness,
Our body,
Emotions,
Desires and our intellect.
As we reenter time and space.
We know that our personality has made progress in developing a working relationship with our higher self,
The real I Am.
Take a few deep breaths to help establish the waking state and return fully alert and aware of your surroundings.
