Welcome to your sacred kiss.
This meditation invites you to release the idea that feeling good is the only sign of being aligned.
Close your eyes and breathe and allow the words to remind you that true alignment means being fully present with light,
With darkness,
With all of life.
Alignment is an interesting word,
Often used when things are going well,
When we feel good,
Connected and flowing with creativity.
It is a pleasurable experience,
No doubt,
But let us not forget pain also has its place.
And just because we feel pain,
Just because we are in discomfort,
Does not mean we are out of alignment.
In fact,
It may mean that we are more aligned than ever.
There is both darkness and light in this world.
To deny the darkness within you is to deny parts of yourself that need to be seen,
Felt and honored.
We cannot bypass pain.
Pain is the crack in the shell through which joy pours in more deeply than ever before.
The confusing part is this.
Light and dark both come with stories we tell ourselves.
Here's the common one.
You are in the flow.
You feel spacious and clear.
You have a job you love.
Your love life is rich.
You're healthy.
You have money.
You have privilege.
You have opportunities.
You credit your mindset,
Your meditation practice,
Your diet.
You think when people don't feel aligned,
They should just adjust their mindset,
Meditate more,
Eat better.
Those tools are powerful,
But the judgment is not.
What happens when healthy people get cancer?
When a loved one dies?
When the job you love disappears?
When your country goes to war?
Are you still in alignment?
When you feel pain,
Disappointment,
Fear and doubt,
Are you still aligned?
When you experience trauma and horror,
Are you still aligned?
Yes,
Because alignment is not about feeling good.
It is about being present.
We are aligning with nature,
With the cycles of creation and disillusion,
With the ebb and the flow of life.
Feeling fear,
Sadness,
Rage and grief in all their colors and textures does not disconnect you from your nature.
It is your nature.
Wishing for a different experience creates a new layer of pain,
The pain of resistance.
This resistance is what brings us out of alignment.
We fuel the fire by adding stories,
Memories,
Wishes,
Regrets,
And so pain becomes suffering.
And suffering lingers when we feed our pain with our thoughts about it.
We are in alignment when we are present,
When our awareness is grounded in the here and the now,
With whatever is happening within us and all around us.
So feel what you are feeling.
Period.
Life circumstances will always change.
Ignore your thoughts about it.
Stay present.
Stay aware.
Allow every feeling its full expression.
This is the truth of alignment.
