This blissful practice begins with a breathing practice to watch the breath flow in and out of your lungs and the relationship between your lungs and heart. You will then drop further into your heart, allowing your senses to fully adjust to being in your heartspace. Lastly, you will naturally start to feel gratitude growing in your heart.

Transcript

A blissful gratitude meditation.

Relax your body into your seat,

Gently closing your eyes.

Relax your head and your neck,

Maybe moving your head from side to side.

Relax your shoulders down your back.

Relax your arms down by your side or place them in your lap.

Just finding the most comfortable position for your arms to relax.

Now start to follow your breath in through the nostrils,

Down through the nasal cavity,

Down the throat,

And into your lungs.

Just being aware of your breath in any way you can.

And on the exhale,

Follow the breath out your lungs,

Up the throat,

And out your nostrils.

Notice the expansion of your lungs as you inhale and the contraction as you exhale.

And you may notice that between the lungs,

There's a space.

That's your heart.

You may want to pay attention to that as well.

As you inhale,

Your lungs wrap around the outer edges of your heart.

And on the exhale,

They release.

Notice this beautiful relationship between your heart and your lungs.

And now bring your attention directly to your heart.

You may not notice any feelings right away,

But just stay in this heart space.

You may feel it beating,

You may not,

But settle into this space and be present in the heart.

And now,

Just be aware of your breath and be present in the heart region itself.

Think of it like sitting in a dark room and allowing your eyes to adjust.

Allow your senses to adjust to being in your heart space.

There are seeds of gratitude within your heart that were planted in conception,

And you may not feel them all the time,

But they are always there.

Allow yourself to rest here for a few minutes and see if you can naturally start to feel this gratitude growing without forcing this feeling,

Without judgment against yourself for not feeling anything.

Just allowing.

Letting yourself sink deeper and deeper into this vast field of gratitude and thankfulness until that field grows enough to begin to touch every cell in your lungs.

Immerse yourself in this field of gratitude and gratitude.

Immerse yourself in this field of gratitude and allow it to spread through all parts of your being.

There's nothing you have to do.

Just simply allow it to flow through you.

As you practice this,

You'll find that the more you immerse yourself in this space,

The more you are living with a sense of gratitude for all that is.

It doesn't need to be anything to actually be grateful for.

You just are gratitude.

Your senses become immersed in gratitude,

So what you see,

Taste,

Smell in your life,

There'll be a pervasive sense of gratitude flowing through you and everything you sense.

So as we near the end of our meditation,

Just thank yourself for this gratitude that is already within you,

For connection with your heart space and all that it holds for you.

Come back to this space often and you'll find that you're having to strive for gratitude less and less and simply living with a grateful heart.

This to me is living in bliss.

When you are ready,

Begin to wiggle your fingers and toes,

Waking up your body and then open your eyes.

Beautiful 💕 Thank you. I remember a time I had to try hard to write down 10 things to be grateful for each night so I could read them first thing upon waking. Then, with practice I no longer needed to write things down, waking up in a state of gratitude became natural. Now I do find myself living in a state of gratitude most of the time. Thank you for reminding me of this journey. 🙏 💕🙏
