When it comes to trust,
We often put it into many things and many people.
But we sometimes overlook putting it in the one place that can benefit us the most,
And that is within ourselves.
Early on,
We are conditioned and taught that most of the great ideas,
Most of the great thoughts live outside of ourselves,
In the minds of those who have come before us.
Who may be more wise,
More smart,
More of an expert,
With more degrees and more letters behind their names.
And we are taught that we would be wise to follow their lead,
Their words,
And their thoughts,
And write reports and papers and essays about these great minds and great thinkers of the past.
And as time passes and we continually repeat this process,
It's very easy for some people to fall into the habit of solely relying and depending upon and trusting the ideas and thoughts of others instead of those that originate from themselves.
Because they have this belief that they're not capable of profound ideas and life-changing thoughts.
I met this young man once and our conversation lasted for a few hours and we spoke about a variety of things,
Mostly centered around life and what it meant to be human.
However,
During the entire time that we were speaking,
Anytime I asked him a question about what he thought or what his perspective was or what he believed,
He always gave me a quote from Jesus or the thoughts and words that came from the wise men in the Bible.
He was somebody who had fallen into that trap of relying on outside thoughts and ideas instead of the ones he formulated for himself.
And toward the end of our conversation,
I asked him about this and he told me that he felt the wisdom and knowledge in the mind of Jesus was far superior to his own mind and that the guidance and wisdom that he needed for his life lay before him within the pages of the Bible.
Now to a certain extent,
I definitely agree with him because I do believe that the teachings and ideas of Jesus are indeed sublime and they make great wisdom for anyone who will apply them to their own individual life.
But I do think that he took it to a great extreme.
Now I would like to make this clear before we go any further.
Seeking and following outside expertise has indeed had a tremendously valuable impact on all civilizations and humanity as a whole.
It has helped to move the world forward in many ways and it's kept people safe.
It's kept people from trying to reinvent the wheel in a sense when it wasn't necessary.
But when we automatically seek out and look for the ideas,
The thoughts of others before we give ourselves the opportunity to see what our own minds can produce.
That's when problems can arise because it shows that we have a reluctance to put a trust in our own minds within our own experience and shows a lack of trust within our intuition,
Within our higher self and that infinite spirit of all knowledge,
Of all wisdom that lives inside each and every one of us.
And no matter how wise and great a thinker someone may be,
If we allow them to define the boundaries of our curiosity,
We end up hindering and stunning the growth and development of our own minds and selves.
Now there was a 16th century French philosopher,
Dumontagne,
And he taught us that we were a source of wisdom and insight within our own self.
And if we would attend properly to our ideas and learn to consider ourselves as plausible candidates for a thinking life,
That the same profound insights and thoughts that we find in the ancient books and the minds of some of the world's greatest thinkers throughout history would be available to us in the same degree of quality and quantity.
I'd like to share this with you,
It says,
God has implanted genius within the soul of everyone and all we must do is unearth that inner genius and cause it to shine forth.
Yet we will never do so if we solely look to others for guidance.
Self-reliance is the word to dwell on.
Listen to your inner voice.
It will speak in terms that are unmistakable and trust in your own self for all great men and women have learned to do this.
Every person within their own soul is in direct communication with the infinite understanding.
And when we solely depend on other people,
We simply take their light and try to light our path with it.
But when we depend on ourself,
We depend on that inner voice that is God speaking in and through man at all times.
What a powerful passage that is.
Just breathe in that wisdom and see where it lands for you.
Now understand this,
It won't be easy because like I said before,
We've been conditioned and taught to seek the wisdom and guidance of others instead of exploring the depths of our own being and finding the knowledge that we have in our own selves.
You know,
It's so easy for us to say this is what this expert says.
This is what this wise man says.
This great scholar believes this to be true,
But what do you say?
What is it that you think?
What are your ideas?
Think about that.
Whether you're 25,
30,
35 or older,
You have so many experiences that have helped you become so knowledgeable and wise.
And if you can recall some of these experiences,
Whether they are good or perceived to be bad,
They have developed you along the path that you are on.
They have helped you to evolve and given you wisdom and knowledge and insights that help prepare you for all future experiences and situations that you will face.
But it's only when we will trust and develop a greater loyalty to our own minds that we realize that our mind is full of immense wisdom.
Now I speak a lot about being still and being in silence and using your intuition.
One of the reasons is that it's the path that I currently walk and trying my best to show greater trust and loyalty to my own mind and to my own intuition is something that I am striving every day to do.
And another reason is because in my own personal studies,
The things that I have been fortunate enough to learn from and study about,
They have taught me that the infinite mind and intelligence of the universe speaks to all of us through our ideas,
Through our thoughts and through our intuition.
And that we each have this teacher,
A master that yearns to connect with us,
That yearns to align with us,
To support and guide us every step of the way,
To be the answer to all of our questions that we could ever have,
To be the freshwater spring that fills us with endless amounts of knowledge and ideas as to what to do,
When to do it and how to do it so that we can achieve our highest growth possible in this life.
And as I am learning to walk this path and listen to my own intuition to that inner master,
It's giving me the ideas and thoughts of wanting to educate and empower others to use their own inner light to illuminate their path of self-mastery.
Now let me share something with you that can shine a little more light on that.
In order for the highest wisdom and insight,
We must have absolute confidence in the divine that's guiding us,
But not through the channel of someone else.
If any man lacks wisdom,
Let him go within.
For when we go directly to the infinite source itself,
We're no longer slaves to personalities,
Institutions or books.
Truth is within ourselves and it takes no rise from outward things.
There is an inmost center in us all where truth abides in fullness.
There is no more important injunction in all the world,
Nor one with a deeper interior meaning than to thy own self be true.
So when I speak about having trust and greater loyalty to our own minds,
When I speak about having the trust and loyalty to our own intuition,
This is exactly what I'm speaking about.
That small,
Still voice that is the higher self that speaks through us and that is the light for every person that comes into this world.
But most of us have not had the courage to develop and trust in the power of our intuition.
We have not had the courage and the belief to say that we have access to the same profound types of thoughts,
Ideas of great thinkers and to develop and use our minds in the same way as the Einsteins,
Da Vinci's,
The Mandela's,
The Maya Angelou's,
The Michelangelo,
The Plato's.
But for whatever reason,
They had more belief in their ability to be curious about what's going on in their own minds,
About what's going on with the thoughts and the ideas that originate from their mind than many of the people today.
And they believe that the thoughts and the ideas that originated from their own mind were of just as much value as those that came before them.
And those who were at one point in time considered wiser or more intelligent or more intellectual than they were.
Our minds may not always be the same,
But they are all similar and very capable of producing amazing insights.
It's my belief that those who use their minds with a far greater capacity tend to study their thoughts,
Their ideas more properly,
More intently and more curiously.
Now before I end this conversation,
I'd just like to share one last quote that I feel will be perfect to sum up everything that we've spoke about today.
And it's a quote from the famous Italian artist,
Michelangelo.
The statue is already in the stone.
My work is to liberate it.
I'm so grateful that you took some time to slow down and pause for a moment and have this conversation with me.
I hope that throughout this time together,
You found some things that can empower you and can help you for your self mastery journey.
As I always say,
Take whatever resonates with you and leave the rest.
Be well,
Be safe and be blessed.
Bye.
