Life is a dance between movement and stillness,
The outer world and the inner.
Take a moment.
Quiet.
Center.
Go in just like your breath as you inhale.
Release and relax as you exhale.
Welcome to a hit of hope.
I have a question for you.
Do you celebrate?
You might immediately think about birthdays and holidays or go through a few ways that you celebrate those kinds of things.
That's wonderful.
And I'm after something else with my question.
You see,
We are all working so hard.
We are all human doing human things,
Making human messes.
And let's not forget,
We are all caught in this worldwide situation that leaves us feeling uncertain and exhausted in the cores of our beings.
Inhale.
Exhale.
So when I ask,
Do you celebrate?
What I'm really asking is do you take the time to mark the good,
Whether that be big or small?
When was the last time you stopped for just a moment and found a way to revel and rejoice?
That might sound like an absurd question.
There's so much to get done,
You might think,
Or what is there to celebrate right now?
Inhale.
Exhale.
And yet if we do not mark the good or rejoice in the little moments,
What is life but toil and drudgery?
And if we keep waiting for this to be over before we find the good,
Then how many small goodnesses are we missing out on?
Inhale.
Exhale.
You are alive.
You are breathing right here,
Right now.
You are okay.
You are enough.
There is nothing to do or prove.
In the very center of your being,
There shines a radiant light.
Inhale.
Exhale.
You are alive.
You are okay.
You are enough.
Revel in that fact.
Rejoice in all the ways your body is working for you,
How your muscles hug your bones,
How your nerves talk to each and every part of your body.
Inhale.
Exhale.
You are alive.
You are okay.
You are enough.
And if you accomplish anything,
Whether that be a home-cooked meal or paying the bills or completing a big project or listening deeply and heartfully to a friend in need,
Those are the things we need to celebrate right here,
Right now.
Celebrate you.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Honestly,
Life can wear you down.
People can put you down,
And there will always be more to do.
Let your next meal be a feast.
Let your next walk be this experience of wonder.
Bring to whatever you are doing a mindset of merriment and joy,
Abundance and gratitude.
Yes,
This is hard.
Yes,
This being alive is good.
Yes,
You are okay.
You are enough.
And in your center,
You shine.
Live light.
