Imposter syndrome is a common symptom among all beings, especially the creative ones. We believe we are nothing, we are nobodies, and why should anyone believe in us. It's disheartening, to be sure, but also highly inaccurate.

Again,

I'm so grateful for your help and all the Patrons.

I'm so so so so happy.

In this video,

I want to speak to you guys about Imposter Syndrome.

It is a fascinating,

Fascinating topic to me because I have gone through Imposter Syndrome so many times before and I see so many people around me who are doing amazing things with their lives,

Building beautiful things,

Beautiful websites,

Beautiful things in general.

Unfortunately,

They still have Imposter Syndrome.

They still feel like a fake.

So if you don't know what Imposter Syndrome is,

It's pretty self-explanatory.

You feel like an imposter.

You feel like no matter what you do,

You feel like you're not enough,

You're not good enough.

And more importantly,

You feel like everyone's going to discover you,

Discover that you have no idea what you're talking about,

That you are not the person that they think you are,

And they're going to discover you and they're going to find you and they're going to tell everyone that you're an imposter and they're going to take you away from all of what you have,

All your positions,

And then you're going to be left alone and destitute on the street somewhere homeless.

I mean that last part is a little bit of an exaggeration,

But that's basically the essence of Imposter Syndrome.

That's one of the reasons why it's such a scary scenario in general is because a lot of people in general,

I think most people on this planet,

Feel this Imposter Syndrome.

Now of course what you do with it is what makes you a success or not.

A lot of people feel it,

But they'll still keep on trudging on and keep on working through it and then they'll come out on the other side where they're able to create amazing things and be successful despite feeling like a fake.

But a lot of people,

And I notice this a lot in my friend circle as well,

And in the people that I'm surrounded by,

They feel like an imposter and they feel this fake feeling that they,

Even though they have all these qualifications,

Even though they know their shit,

They still feel like they don't and they're not good enough and they let it disrupt their work because instead of doing their work they're like well I'm a fake so I'm not gonna put myself out there.

I don't know what I'm talking about.

I'm not good enough.

I don't have the qualifications.

I don't have all these degrees behind my name,

Etc etc.

And they will let it deter them and they will let it break them down and they won't do the work that's necessary.

I'll give you a quick example.

Of course I use my YouTube channel as an example a lot but there's a bunch of people around me who are brilliant speakers and I mean brilliant.

I'm saying that and I'm not that brilliant.

I just learned this as an offshoot of what I'm doing.

It's a side effect of it but they are actually brilliant.

The way they speak,

Just in normal conversation,

I am awed by them.

And so they have good communication skills and I tell them all the time instead of writing,

I think writing is great,

Writing blog posts is awesome,

But I feel like video is the way of the future so maybe you should do a few videos.

Do Facebook lives.

Do something that shares your oration with the world.

But again this imposter syndrome comes up.

They're like what I don't know anything.

I just learned this on my own or I have the qualifications but there are other people who are more qualified than me or have more experience than me or I might know a little bit but I don't know everything and what if someone asks me a question that I don't know anything about and things like that.

And all of this stuff comes up basically all to do with imposter syndrome.

Again a lot of you guys have messaged me saying as well you know how can you do all these videos when you are not a psychologist or you don't have a coaching certificate or things like that.

I mean I'm not qualified in any shape or form to do these videos really.

I have a marketing degree and an MBA so I have a business degree really and so I'm not really suitable.

I'm not a psychologist and I do all these videos because they're fun for me.

I'm doing them because I'm doing them from my heart.

I'm doing them from my experiences.

I'm not doing it because I'm a qualified or a certified psychologist psychotherapist or anything like that.

And so they're like how can you do these videos and I always tell people I'm not doing them as a certified psychotherapist.

There are other people out there who do that.

There are other people out there who will say that they're a certified psychotherapist and that's why they're qualified to do these videos.

Perfect.

I do it from my own life experiences.

I share my stories.

I share my life and I talk about what I learned from it and that's what I'm doing.

So I don't need to be certified.

I don't need to be qualified.

I don't need any of that in order to do these videos.

Another thing that always comes up is all the Udemy courses that I have.

I have a bunch of courses on Udemy and people are always like so how are you qualified to do those courses?

I'm like I'm not qualified.

I just do it based on my experience based on the stuff I've done.

If you want to take my course take it.

If you don't want to and you want to find someone who's more qualified who has some degrees behind their name go find them.

So that's how it is.

You have to get over yourself.

You have to get over this fear of of just being a fake.

Everyone is doing the best they can.

Everyone knows on a different level.

You might be a little bit further ahead than that person and someone else might be a little bit further ahead than you and that's how it goes.

You're never going to be at the top of the top of the top of the tier.

I just don't think it's possible unless you work at it for 50,

60,

70 years and then eventually you'll get there.

So everyone is at a certain level and I am just speaking to those people who are a little bit below me in the levels.

A little bit below me in the tiers.

And I listen to people who are a little bit above me in the tiers.

So I listen to them and I learn from them and then people learn from me and then someone else will learn from you and things like that.

So that's how it goes.

We're just completing the circle.

I learned something from someone.

I share it with you.

You learn something from me.

You share it with someone else and then the cycle continues and we keep on growing and becoming the best version of ourselves in that manner.

But if you let Imposter Syndrome get you then you're not going to do anything.

And I know it because for me I spent years and years and years in Imposter Syndrome feeling like a fake.

Feeling like I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Even though I had read hundreds of books.

Even though I had done so much coaching and I'd done so much self-reflection,

So much work on myself,

I still felt like I had nothing to share.

And that's the reason I didn't start my YouTube channel earlier on.

I regret it obviously.

I wish I'd started early on.

Of course everything happens perfectly.

So I started and eventually I realized I didn't need to be a major expert and I was not a fake.

I was just speaking from my heart.

And I tell people all the time I am not an expert.

So sometimes they will ask me questions about INFJ stuff and I'm like I have no idea.

I don't know.

This person recently asked me about you know how do I think blood types are related to personality types.

And I was like oh my god I have no idea.

Not only do I not care about that topic so I'm not going to do a video on it but also I am not qualified enough to talk about it.

I'm not a doctor.

I am not any.

.

.

I just can't.

I can't imagine how blood types would even be related to psychological types or personality types.

How would that even be connected?

So I don't know enough about that subject matter to talk about it of course right.

Maybe there's someone else out there who's more qualified qualified.

They should be the ones who do a video on it.

I'm not enough for it right.

And so all the videos that I do a lot of you guys will send me topics and I'm like no I'm sorry I can't do a video on it because I'm not good enough at it yet.

Or I don't know enough about it yet.

Or I need to learn more about it so it'll take me a few years maybe a few months maybe a few weeks to get there right.

So again I'm only doing videos that I am comfortable with that I'm qualified enough in my heart to talk about right.

So this video it makes sense.

I've been through embossing syndrome.

I know what it's like.

I've been on the other side.

I've been on this side.

You know I've been on both sides so I know what it feels like and so I can share my experiences with you in a very easy format.

Very easy from the heart right.

I don't have to work at it.

I don't have to try at it.

It's just easy because I've been through it and that's why most of my videos are pretty easy for me because I only do videos on things that I've been through and so I've had all these experiences and I've kind of you know learned a lot from it and then I kind of create a video of it and I'll share it with you.

So that's how I do it.

That's why I don't feel like an imposter when I do these videos because it's my experience.

I'm not saying that I'm an expert in MBTI types.

I'm specifically not saying that I'm an expert in INFJ stuff.

I'm still learning myself and so I don't come across as an imposter to myself right.

Now of course this is just one of the things I do.

There are other things that I do when I do come across as an imposter to myself.

For example,

A very simple example,

I just as I've told you guys I think,

I just started riding a motorbike around in Chiang Mai two months ago and so it's only been two months.

I'm comfortable with it.

I feel good about it.

I feel like I'm getting the hang of it but I still have this kind of nagging voice on the side of my head saying you've only been driving for two months.

You're still an imposter.

Don't get excited.

Don't get confident.

Don't get overconfident.

Still be careful.

Now it's a good thing that my voice is saying that because I don't want to get over confident.

I don't want to get stupid on the roads.

I still want to wear my helmet.

I don't want to listen to music while I drive.

I want to pay attention.

I want to be focused etc.

But again I do feel like an imposter on the road.

I go on the roads and I'm like everyone must be looking at me.

Everyone must know that I've just started driving.

Everyone must know that I have no idea what I'm doing.

Everyone must be laughing at me.

Things like that and that's all to do with imposter syndrome.

It's a very simple example but imposter syndrome affects everyone in every field of life and everything that we do.

A lot of times we're sitting there thinking everyone's laughing at me.

Everyone thinks that I don't know what I'm talking about.

No one's thinking that probably and if they are they have no idea what they're talking about either so you're in the same boat.

But that's again imposter syndrome and a lot of times as I said it can't hold you back.

You have to remember everyone feels it.

Everyone goes through it.

The people who are successful who do things in their life are the ones who let imposter syndrome not who don't let imposter syndrome hold it back.

They don't let them hold them back.

They keep on going through it.

They feel it.

They feel the fear.

They feel the negative feelings and they keep on going and that's what I want you guys to do as well.

I want you to feel imposter syndrome and still keep on working on your goals.

Still keep on working on your stuff because it's fine.

Everyone feels it and they still keep on going.

I hope this makes sense.

If you guys have any questions about imposter syndrome please put them in the comments below and I'll do a further video on it.
