If you've been fumbling or stumbling through your days,
It's okay.
You are loved.
You are loved.
Even when you feel this way.
This meditation is for remembering that love surrounds us all.
When there is upheaval or instability,
Love is here.
Find a posture that allows you to breathe with ease.
And be steady here.
If you've been fumbling or stumbling through your days,
It's okay.
If you're looking for steadiness or control,
It's okay.
This conditioning to search for answers within us all is strong.
It's what we've been taught.
We all search for grounding and steadiness outside of ourselves.
But the answers are not found in someone else,
Or in the stars,
Or in perfecting how we believe life ought to look.
What we search for is already within.
There is love within right now.
You are loved.
You are loved.
Even when you feel this way.
We forget that love within exists when we look to others or when we look towards the future.
We compare,
We consume,
Or we hide in the shadows and we forget that we are this steadiness.
That we are already connected to wisdom and to goodness,
Even if we don't feel it.
Mindfulness is described as a practice of remembering in the Pali language.
How can we remember this ever-present love at the core of us all and of everything?
Even in our darkest moments and most trying times,
Can we remember?
Practice with me now and think of something you like about yourself.
And if this isn't easy,
Then think about what your friends love about you.
Breathe it in.
The mind will try to judge this practice,
But stick with just one thing that you like about yourself.
Or one thing your friends love about you.
Breathe into that which is lovable about you.
And that which is lovable about you.
That which is lovable about you.
When you feel yourself shutting down or disconnecting,
Imagine yourself instead opening up.
Maybe sit a little taller.
Create more space and breathe into this goodness that you are.
Remember what is likable about you,
This unchanging quality of love and goodness within.
And that which is likable about you.
And that which is likable about you.
Mindfulness is a remembering.
It is a verb,
Something that is cultivated and practiced continuously.
Remembering again and again.
When the shame or fear or anger arises.
And when we feel out of control and disconnected from the goodness within.
Let your remembering meet all the years of conditioned negativity.
Give yourself permission to return again and again.
To this love.
To this love.
Now is there a situation that you can envision where you might need to remember what is lovable about you?
When in your life will you want to bring in this practice of remembering your goodness?
You can breathe in this love whenever you find yourself getting lost in the current of chaos or lost from the present moment.
It's okay.
You are loved,
You are loved even while you feel this way.
Remember.
Your truth at your core.
There is always love.
Rather than something to strive for or achieve or win from others.
Give as it is when you will,
And you will gain.
Give as it is when you will.
Be grateful.
Perhaps place a palm on your upper chest and take a few good deep breaths right up into that palm.
Connect to your heart space,
Just savoring in the sensations around your heart right now.
Whatever it is that's coming up,
Or that came up throughout this meditation,
It's okay.
My hope for us all is that we can come back to this practice of connecting to the goodness within and the love within whenever we feel off course or disheveled.
Thank you for your practice.
Namaste.
