Welcome to meditation number 16 for mindful growth.
This is the who do I think I am meditation.
This meditation will help you to break down any limitations that you think you may have,
Giving you the freedom to grow and change how you see fit.
We can begin by setting the intention that we are able to do so both for our own benefit as well as to be able to benefit those in our lives.
We can begin by checking in on our meditation posture,
Making sure that our back is straight but relaxed,
Our eyes gently closed,
And head tilted slightly forward.
And then we can immediately bring our mental awareness inwards and settle it onto the breath.
Using the sensation of our breath to center and ground our mind,
Allowing the usual busyness and distraction within our minds to subside.
And then scanning briefly through our bodies,
Beginning with the awareness in our toes,
And then moving upwards at our own speed.
It's taking the next minute to do this.
And then returning our awareness to the entire body.
And then beginning our analytical meditation.
We can spend some time contemplating who we think we are.
What are the things that define me or I?
And we can check if there is a singular sign that our sense of self can be found.
Is there anything solid,
Consistent?
We can also contemplate how our sense of self has changed over time in our lives.
Once again,
Checking if it is solid and consistent.
And we predict how our sense of self will change in the future.
Returning to this core question of who do we think we are?
And eventually realizing that our sense of self is an emergent phenomenon.
It's not any of the specific aspects that we can identify,
But rather a collection of transient,
Constantly evolving qualities upon which we impute me or I at any given moment.
Through realizing this,
We begin to feel a sense of freedom.
Realize that we are who we think we are.
Which means that we can be who we want to be.
We can keep what we want.
We can change what we want.
Do this over time with conscious effort and training.
No inherent limitations.
Handing in our way.
This sense of freedom,
Our ability to change,
Our sense of self is our object of meditation.
Once you have this feeling of freedom,
Empowerment,
Trying to hold it in placement meditation.
This sense of self is our object of meditation.
Remembering that we are who we think we are.
Therefore,
We can be who we want to be.
Renewing this feeling of freedom,
Empowerment.
To be able to progress,
Grow and change.
However we would like.
And then holding this feeling of freedom for the final two minutes.
We are who we think we are.
We are who we think we are.
We are who we think we are.
We are who we think we are.
And finally we can gradually relax our concentration.
Allow ourselves to arise from our meditation.
