The Great Gift Of Being Grateful

One of the greatest gifts given us is the opportunity to be grateful for what we have in life. With the gift of gratitude we can see with a higher perspective the truth of how miraculous being here is. this is a talk and meditation on that gift.

A very big aloha.

My name is Reverend Cindy Palos and I wanted to talk about caring and the gift of being able to be grateful.

Now I think they kind of go hand in hand.

There's a great gift that we can find when we care about others.

And it's multi-leveled.

In many ways,

You begin to see that others have the same essence inside as you do.

And when you care about what they're going through,

You can understand a little more about the whole process of interaction in life.

I think that there's this beautiful beingness that we all share.

And it's interesting,

For a while we think,

Well,

We're different,

We're better.

And I see this actually in some cases when you're on the spiritual path because you feel like you're understanding more,

Seeing more,

Feeling more love than possibly others talk about or are going through.

But it comes back to how do you use what you get as you continue to meditate,

As you continue to look within,

As you continue to explore.

And it always seems to come back to this oneness and to caring.

And as you understand that oneness,

You begin to care more.

And you wish to give back more in any way that you can.

Now,

I believe that everyone has different ways that they can share what they get.

And I think that even ties into the seven rays,

The seven different energies,

The seven chakras.

Some people are more artistic,

And some people are more dealing with the scientific community,

And some people are more realistic.

And everyone has their different gifts.

Everyone has a different way of expressing what they're getting.

And it's really beautiful how they all work together in a rainbow,

A beautiful rainbow of color that completes what's going on in this world.

A rainbow is,

Of course,

A magical thing.

Think about the rainbow.

It's the same colors you have in your chakras.

And the rainbow ties heaven to earth.

And when you see a rainbow,

You are stopped in your tracks,

And you have to stop.

And if you're driving,

You might even pull over and try to just watch that rainbow.

Because it touches us in some ways,

Because it does make us remember our connection to the higher forces.

Now,

How do we connect with that higher forces and bring it back into our life?

By caring more,

By giving more,

By being compassionate,

Being understanding.

It's a lifetime process.

It really is.

It's a lifetime process that we begin to go through.

And I think it's sometimes a difficult path,

Because I'm an empath and I feel a lot when I experience what other people are going through.

I sometimes can take that on and feel like that myself.

But the idea is that it's not about us,

You know.

It's not about me.

It's what others are also experiencing.

It's about what we are doing here to try to make our time here better and more of service and sharing what we get.

And it's interesting,

Because I started meditating when I was very young,

About 13 years old,

14.

And there's this path you go through where you get so taken by that amazing energy you go through with the love you experience.

And it's addictive in a strange way,

That love.

You just want more and more and more of it,

Right?

And so it's easy to go into that,

I just want to go into meditation and get high,

You know,

Naturally high.

But then you come to some point where you realize,

Oh no,

It's not about that.

It's about what I get in that place within.

And this is a beautiful process as we learn to try to help and to serve others and to share in this gift of caring,

This gift of understanding.

And we can see many people find a way to do this in such beautiful ways,

Depending on what they have inside them.

I see some people who I know who write music and some who actually create words for the music,

Such as myself.

And some who are nurses,

Doctors,

You know,

Some who are scientists,

Some who are out there,

You know,

In the physical capacity teaching people how to do yoga and work out,

You know.

It's beautiful.

There's so many gifts that are being given back to people in so many ways that we have to really be so amazed and grateful.

I mean,

Here on Inside Timer,

Look at all the people sharing in some special way what they can for others.

And there's this force that directs that,

That beautiful guiding light that is directing that way of giving back that I think is so inspiring.

Because there's been so much challenge going on in the world that we have to keep our spirits up by recognizing the good that is being done by so many in the world.

So let's take some time to go into a meditation here and allow ourselves to sit comfortably and just let the spine be erect.

Just allow yourself to breathe,

Nothing to do,

Just to be.

With each breath in,

Allowing that energy to go through you,

Breathing in and holding at the top of your breath for a second or two or three and just allow the energy to go back out.

Breathing all the way out,

Clearing everything out.

Allowing the breath to sweep your mind,

Breathing in and breathing out.

And you're just allowing yourself to be clear here as you just continue to do nothing but just breathe.

It's a wonderful gift you have this breath,

This breath of life.

So grateful for each breath.

And allowing yourself to go to that place within where you feel comfortable just being here now.

And put that precious,

Beautiful,

Protective white light above you,

Below you,

In front of you,

Behind you,

On either side of you.

Letting yourself be protected by that precious,

Wonderful white light.

Ah,

Feels so good.

Now allow yourself to be conscious of your body and be thankful for your body and all the work it does for you.

We abuse our bodies in many ways.

So it helps to take a moment to be grateful for our feet,

Our lovely feet and ankles and our legs,

Those calves,

Beautiful thighs and the knees.

Oh my gosh,

And the base of the spine.

Allowing the energy to flow freely from the base of the spine on upwards to the crown chakra.

Ah,

Just clearing everything out as you breathe.

Going to that source at the top of your crown chakra.

And just being here and present.

Now there's such a connection you can make as you're aware.

What are you aware of?

Allow that awareness to make its connection to that precious resource within you.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

Bird buddy friend out there just calling out.

Ah,

And allowing that energy field to expand as you continue to be inspired by going to that source of inspiration,

That in spirit within,

That spirit that is feeding your soul.

Allow that spirit to give you what you need.

The energy,

The inspiration,

The vision,

The greatest gift of caring and sharing how you care.

How would you share that gift with others?

What is that gift that you can share with others?

And how would you use that gift in your life?

Allow yourself to come into that consciousness,

That awareness of how precious this gift is.

And let yourself be inspired to the point where you can remember what you have to offer the world.

We each have these precious gifts to share.

And as we allow the inspiration to come to us,

That inspiration will feed our purpose and our soul to give back to others.

Allow that inspiration to feed your purpose.

And slowly come back from that resource of the source of the one light and the one love.

And allow it to come back and guide you.

As you come back to your conscious mind,

Let anything that you might have felt,

Sensed,

Or experienced to be brought back into your conscious awareness.

And I find that the most precious way of doing this is to take a little time and write down.

Even if it's just a word or two or a feeling,

You write down.

Write down what has come to you.

That helps to build that bridge from the higher self within you to your conscious mind.

And as you build that bridge,

You allow more energy to flow through those channels.

That gift of that energy from within,

Inspiring you in your life,

Is a wonderful gift,

My friend.

And I'm so very,

Very grateful for being able to share this energy here with you.

It's a wonderful gift for me as well.

And I am so,

So grateful and thank you so much for being here and being present.
