There has to be at least one time in your life when you looked up at the full moon and felt peace,
Possibly protection.
I would imagine that almost every person on earth has at least some level of fascination with the moon.
For Wiccans,
We view the moon as a constant reminder of the cycle of birth,
Death,
And rebirth.
We see the full moon glow bright in the sky,
Watch her turn into slivers as she wanes,
See her totally disappear,
Only to slowly and steadily reappear on her waxing return to fullness.
Our beloved moon,
The representation of feminine energy,
Therefore greets us as maiden,
Mother,
And crone.
During each lunar cycle,
Our life cycle is being illustrated for us,
Right above our heads.
Mother moon rules the tides,
Influences our emotions,
She brings the ocean waves to land,
And returns them to the sea.
The ebb and flow is undeniable and incredible.
I invite you to spend a few minutes observing the moon today,
At whatever stage,
And sense her gravitational pull.
The moon is always above us,
Nurturing us.
The moon is always there for us.
The moon shines brightly and invites us to do the very same.
The moon nurtures us,
And asks us to nurture ourselves.
When the moon shines down upon us,
She sees a landscape of plenty.
All of us,
The changing seasons we experience,
And the food we consume,
Are here because of the moon.
Mother moon influences and guides the earth.
She has always been,
And will forever remain,
Co-creative with us.
Without her,
We would be lost.
Without us,
She would have given her guidance in vain.
For Wiccans who practice magic during the full moon,
We draw upon her presence for magnification.
That same magnification is just as there for those who don't practice magic.
The power of the moon is present each time you sign a loan,
Exercise patience in the presence of another soul,
Give someone a hug,
And it amplifies that energy.
As the full moon moves into the waning gibbous stage,
We want to concentrate on protection and detoxification.
During the last quarter,
We will naturally seek rest.
The waxing crescent moon,
Just before the new moon,
Is a splendid time for us to be even more grateful.
At the new or dark moon,
We set our goals.
For Wiccans,
This is a time to cleanse and prepare our altars.
During the waxing crescent moon,
We rejoice as we see Mother returning again.
When the first quarter moon appears,
We focus on love and healing.
During the waxing gibbous moon,
We are still and observant as the moon is about to greet us once again in fullness.
Ponder which phase of the moon inspires you most and how you will choose to relate to it.
There is no right or wrong way to align yourself with each lunar phase.
Perhaps you will choose to practice yoga,
Take a walk in nature,
Read a book,
Or simply meditate.
Enjoying a cup of coffee or tea while absorbing our Mother's majesty is excellent too.
You do you.
The moon nurtures us.
The moon sustains us.
The moon watches over us.
The moon blesses us.
The moon gives us peace.
Take that peace that was given to you by the moon and pass it on to others and always remember that you are never alone when you're looking at the moon because someone,
Somewhere,
Is looking at it too.
The crow flies from me to thee to send the message.
Blessed be.
Namaste.
