This is a union of three hearts meditation.
The union of three hearts meditation is a seated,
Non-moving Qigong exercise meant to quiet the mind and connect with the universal energy.
If able,
This meditation is best done in a full or half lotus position or seated cross-legged position.
If it is more comfortable to sit in a chair,
It is important to place both feet flat on the ground with knees hip width apart.
Sit upright with a straight spine as if a rope extends upward through the spine and head towards the sky.
No matter which position,
It is important to be comfortable and relaxed.
Proceed slowly.
Once comfortable and relaxed in this position,
Perform the Zhong Tian movement.
Put palms together in a prayer-like position at mouth level,
Opening palms slightly and blowing into the opening.
Raise left palm up to forehead level while bringing right palm down to Dan Tian or area below the navel.
Slightly lower the left palm down the center of the body to join the right at the Dan Tian,
Placing palms stacked and facing upward and lying on the thighs comfortably.
While keeping the head upright,
Slightly tuck the chin so that head is aligned with the spine and shoulders are wide.
Touch the tip of the tongue to the upper palate and softly close the eyes.
While gently and naturally breathing,
Become aware of the Dan Tian.
Once fully relaxed,
Begin to visualize the Qi moving upward from the Dan Tian to the point in the center of the head.
This point in the middle of the head is referred to as the Gate of Heaven,
With the Dan Tian being the bottom of the ocean.
Once the Qi reaches the center of the head,
Pause and offer a thought,
Prayer or mantra to whatever you believe to be the highest and most heavenly.
Then move the Qi back down to the Dan Tian.
Continue to visualize the movement of Qi up and down,
Gliding smoothly and with ease,
Moving up with the inhale and down with the exhale.
Everything should remain slow and light.
After some time of this easy glide up and down,
Begin to keep the Qi in the center of the head for longer amounts of time before moving it back down to the Dan Tian.
Repeat.
Prayer or mantra Then,
Let the chi remain in the head,
Connecting to heaven,
Where it will move freely and naturally.
Moving you to a higher level of consciousness.
This spot is the center of the head,
Is where the entire universe exists.
Feel yourself being dissolved into the universe.
Feel yourself immersed in a nurturing and loving energy,
Honoring anything you may see or feel in this state.
If you wish,
Pause this recording and remain in this state for as long as you wish.
When you are ready,
Gradually bring awareness back to the body and slowly open the eyes to return to normal waking consciousness.
Allow the chi to return to the dantian and conclude this meditation with a zhongtian movement that was done at the beginning.
Bringing your palms together in a prayer-like position,
Blowing into the center,
Bringing the left palm to the forehead,
While the right moves down the body to the dantian and the left slowly moves down to join it.
Now bring those hands together again in front of your heart.
Thank you.
