#41. Spiritual Rise In Abundance, Not Scarcity | Vigyan Bhairav Tantra
Tantra envisions an integrated human being living both in material and the spiritual. The outdated one-sided version of a spiritual person in robes, in renunciation, in abstinence is an outdated idea of Sannyasa. Meditation Technique: Look at an object, then withdraw your sight from it, then slowly withdraw your thought from it. ====== To apply for joining our meditation community, please write me an email introducing yourself, your interest in the community and what can you give back.

Namaste sannyasa family and everyone.
A very warm welcome to all of you in this daily live meditation session with me,
Dhyana Seth.
We're meditating on 112 meditation techniques of Vigyan Bhairav Tantra.
Enough of spirituality being misrepresented by robes,
By only monastic robes,
By abstinence,
By suppression,
By renunciation of the world.
Enough of that representation of spirituality.
All throughout our lives,
All throughout centuries,
All throughout different ways of accessing spirituality.
The message that is given constantly,
The picture that is painted constantly is of monastic robes,
Is of renunciation of the material,
Is of abstinence,
Of celibacy.
And all this creates a skewed picture of spirituality.
It puts spirituality away from life.
It makes spirituality as if it is somewhere outside life,
It is somewhere not a part of the core life,
It is not the practicality of life.
And the rest of the world is run by the materialists,
By everyone who is non-spiritual.
Tantra gives a different vision.
Tantra is a vision of all inclusivity.
It brings both from sex to samadhi,
From all the material to the highest consciousness,
To all the spiritual,
All together as one.
Buddha and other traditions,
They have been talking in terms of renunciation,
They have been talking in terms of celibacy,
They have been talking in terms of taking positions.
They are this or that position.
But tantra,
The vision of tantra,
The vibration of tantra is all-inclusive.
It brings both the material and the highest of the consciousness,
Both together.
It does not give you a justification to move away from the material and move into something that we call as spiritual.
If you see that in this notion of spirituality,
Which is of the robes,
Which is of the renunciation,
Which is of the celibacy,
Where we put someone,
When we see in the robes,
On the highest pedestal,
We find a justification,
We find an excuse to move away from the material.
If we were unable to manage the life and whatever the life brings,
The highs and the lows,
We look for an alternate.
And spirituality becomes an alternate to what you mainstream live,
What you live as the material.
And if you are fed up with the material,
If you are unable to access the material,
Then suddenly you become spiritual.
You look for what you were looking for earlier in the material,
The experiences,
The best experiences of life.
Now that door seems to be closed,
So you move to the spiritual and you say,
Now I will experience in the spiritual the bestest of experiences.
Spirituality will give me those experiences.
This misunderstanding,
This misrepresentation,
This moving in from material to spiritual as a justification to not be able to manage the material is not the right way to access spirituality.
Spirituality is not in scarcity.
Spirituality is not an alternate.
Spirituality is an abundance,
Abundance of everything in life.
Westerners,
When they go to Southeast Asian countries,
India as an example,
They go on the streets or in the villages,
They see scarcity,
They see poverty and they see people still smiling,
Laughing.
They say,
Wow,
What spiritual people are these that are smiling in scarcity,
That are smiling in all the poverty.
That is not spirituality.
That is a complete misunderstanding of what spirituality is.
See that spirituality was born in abundance in India,
In other countries,
Wherever there was abundance in all dimensions of life,
From material to non-material,
To the arts,
To the science,
To all forms of knowledge.
Only when there was abundance,
Then spirituality came into being.
Then spirituality came into the dimension as the dimension of luxury,
Of once you have experienced all through what is possible with the physical,
You want to naturally know what all is out there in the non-physical realm,
In the higher states of consciousness.
So what you experience when you go to India is a hangover of spirituality.
The spirituality was there in India in abundance of when there was abundance.
It is there today as well,
But not in the streets,
But not in the villages,
Not in the poverty,
This is not the place of spirituality.
So see the tantra vision gives you the responsibility.
It takes you out of that irresponsibility of somehow,
For some reason,
Moving away from the material,
Leaving it for someone else to manage,
And you taking only the spiritual,
Where there seems to be no responsibility,
Where things seem to be more away from responsibility.
Tantra gives you back this responsibility by giving you this integrated vision of the material and what you call as spiritual,
All together as spiritual.
And this material world,
It is somewhat difficult,
Maybe difficult to manage,
But this inner world is far more complex to manage,
Far more difficult to manage.
So if you cannot be responsible in the material world,
You will never be able to be responsible in the spiritual world.
See that you have to live this integrated life with the responsibility of the material and thereby learning how to be responsible in the realm of spirituality.
A drunkard,
After drinking all night long,
At 3 am he moved out of the pub,
Went to his car in the parking,
Somehow managed his way,
Was trying to open the door of his car.
A policeman saw him.
He said,
Mr,
I hope you are not going to drive that car.
The drunkard said,
Oh certainly yes,
Anyone can see I am not in a condition to walk,
So I will drive.
If you are not in the condition to walk,
How can you drive?
If you are not in the condition to manage the practicalities of life,
Of the material,
How will you manage the complexities of spirituality of the inner world?
So tantra is giving you this opportunity to once again redefine spirituality for yourself.
Take them away,
Take the idea,
The notion of the renunciation of the material,
Of the celibacy,
Of the abstinence,
Of the scarcity away and rather have this integrated vision of abundance,
Of approaching life in all dimensions with abundance,
Taking responsibility so that the world that we live in is not divided between the materialists and the spiritualists,
Where the materialists are in the leadership,
In the positions of the world,
Driving the world here and there and you can see the outcome.
You can see the experience of the world that we all are living in.
It is because of this division between the materialists and the spiritualists.
The spiritualists are somewhere in the corner preaching their own thing and the materialists are driving the world in the integrated vision of tantra,
The spiritualists,
The materialists,
The integrated man,
The integrated woman who is both balanced with the material and the spiritual,
Who has both the intelligence of the mind and the depth and the love of the heart and respect for the spirit of who we are if that integrated man or the woman is in the leadership of the world,
Then this place becomes the way we want it to be,
A place of love,
A place of truth,
A place of connectedness.
So all those who come in contact with this tantra vision,
With this tantra vibration,
Carry this responsibility in whichever areas,
Aspects of life,
Wherever you are,
Be responsible for both the material,
Both the spiritual.
Do not leave any dimension of life unanswered.
It is such a short life in so many dimensions.
Live it fully in all dimensions.
With that integrated tantra vision,
Let us hear what Bhairava has to say for today's meditation technique and practice this in our own silence.
Bhairava says,
Look at one object,
Then withdraw your sight from it.
Then slowly withdraw your thought from it.
Then.
Let me repeat.
Look at one object,
Then withdraw your sight from it.
Then slowly withdraw your thought from it.
Then.
Here Bhairava is giving you a technique for those who found it difficult for managing the monkey mind,
For who think that their monkey mind is the strongest,
The biggest monkey mind,
Completely unable to control,
Completely unable to focus.
If you just rest,
If you just observe your inner world,
Then there is no rest.
Then there is no way to achieve that focus.
If you are that monkey mind,
If you are that crazy monkey mind,
Where the thoughts,
They don't come to rest on their own,
Then this technique is very helpful because it is firstly externalizing the process of concentration.
It is taking you into meditation from concentration.
It is giving you access,
That entrance into the silence,
Into the thoughtlessness,
Into that inner peace,
Into that silent lake,
But going via concentration,
And not concentration on an inner object,
But on an outer object.
So the technique says,
Look at an object.
It could be any object.
It could be an apple,
It could be a plant,
It could be even a table or a chair,
Any object,
It could be a face of your beloved.
Take any object.
You look at the object so much that you bring all your awareness,
All your focus,
All your mind,
All your thought to that one object.
Use that particular object which draws all your attention,
Which draws all your mind to one single object to make your mind one-pointed.
Then withdraw your sight from it.
Then while you are looking,
While all your energies are engaged in this looking,
In this bringing one-pointedness of the thought,
Of the emotion,
Of the energies,
Of the eyes,
Of the perception at one particular object,
Then withdraw your sight from it.
The first thing that you withdraw is your senses,
Is your sight from that.
The moment you do that,
The energy turns inwards.
The awareness turns inwards.
You are thrown back from the outside.
The intensity that you have created for the outside,
You are thrown back with that intensity inwards.
Not what is still left is the thought of it.
Because you had focused,
Because you had put all your energy on that object,
There is a reflection,
There is an image,
There is some sense,
There is some thought of that object left within you.
Then slowly withdraw your thought from it.
That's what Bhairava says.
Then you are ready to enter into meditation.
So you do this for 5 minutes,
10 minutes,
When you feel that you have a monkey mind,
Bring an object,
Focus on that object,
Bring all your energy,
All your attention,
All your mind,
All your thought to that object,
Withdraw your sight from that object,
Turn inwards,
Withdraw your thought.
And then you will move into silence.
So for today's meditation,
The way we are going to do this in this session,
We are going to use our hand as an object.
Otherwise when you practice this on your own,
You can use any other object,
But for now we will use our right hand or our left hand as the object of focus for the first 5 minutes.
So please raise your right hand,
Put it in front of you in a posture that is comfortable.
And look at your hand,
Bringing your focus,
Your attention,
More and more to your hand.
The palm facing your face.
And you simply looking at your hand.
Allowing yourself to settle your body,
Your mind,
And your awareness on your hand.
Slowly,
You start to see.
More and more of seeing your focus on your hand.
Withdrawing energy from all other places and bringing all your energy to settle your body.
And now you are ready to slow down.
.
Allow your awareness to settle on your hand,
Your thought,
Your one-pointedness,
Your one-pointedness on your hand.
.
Your whole mind is engaged in looking at your hand,
Is thinking to look at your hand,
All energies one-pointed.

Let go of the thought of your hand and stay in this objectless awareness and silence.
Let go of your hand and stay in this objectless awareness and silence.
Don't hold on to anything.
Change anything.
Touch anything.
Simply stay silent,
Unaware,
Objectless.
Let go of your hand and stay in this objectless awareness and silence.
Let go of your hand and stay in this objectless awareness and silence.
If your awareness expands,
Allow it.
If it doesn't,
Stay silent,
Without trying to change anything,
Move anything.
Let go of your hand and stay in this objectless awareness and silence.
Let go of your hand and stay in this objectless awareness and silence.
Stay like this.
Silent,
Centered and aware.
No object.
Let go of your hand and stay in this objectless awareness and silence.
Let go of your hand and stay in this objectless awareness and silence.
And very gently and slowly,
You may open your eyes.
Maintaining this centeredness,
Silence and awareness,
Taking it into your daily life.

I did not understand what you said about India, the poverty and the smiles. Are you saying that the more abound ant in material and money you are, the more you can be spiritual? What if you are poor in money and material all your life, that means that you will never be spiritual? For me that has no sens. Please explain. Thank you.
