To prepare for something is a mental idea. It keeps you away from the real, waiting, in rehearsal, in an assumption that you don't know. Life and death don't need any preparation. Namaste sannyasa family and everyone.

A very warm welcome to all of you in this daily live meditation session with me,

Dhyansay.

You're meditating on 112 meditation techniques of Vigyan Bhairav Tantra.

In this day and age,

We contemplated upon life as an illusion.

And the transient nature of this life,

Of this illusion.

This short lived impermanence that we all experience as life,

As illusion.

In this contemplation,

A question arose for one of our sannyasa family meditators.

A question arose,

Let us go into this question,

Contemplate over it,

And go deeper into this transience of life.

The meditator asks,

Is meditation preparation for death in showing us how to truly live?

Is meditation preparation for death in showing us how to truly live?

This idea of preparation,

This idea that we are preparing for something,

Not just death,

Any kind of preparation.

This is a mental idea.

This is an idea that arises in the mind.

It is something that keeps us always away from the reality.

We are always in preparation of something,

In rehearsal of something,

As if whatever is is at a distance.

And we have to wait,

We have to prepare,

We have to rehearse for something in life.

Life and death,

These are subjects which do not require any preparation,

Which do not require any rehearsal.

This idea is just simply a waiting,

Simply remaining passive,

Not jumping into life,

Not getting into the flow which is there available to us,

But rather remaining at a distance,

At a distance in the mind,

In the preparation,

As if this life,

You are not yet ready for it.

The moment you are born,

The moment you are thrown into life,

You are ready for life.

There is nothing more needed to be in life.

But this idea of preparation towards something always gives you this chance to not fully participate in life,

Not fully participate in the flow of this energy that is passing by.

You are missing something,

You are missing this life if you remain in preparation.

Move from any kind of preparation to be in the life,

To go live every second.

Otherwise you are just for few moments of life in life,

Otherwise you are only living the idea of life,

In the preparation of life,

In simply just at a distance from life.

See that no preparation is needed for life,

No preparation is needed for anything that is alive,

Anything that is of nature,

That is of truth,

That is of reality.

But we remain in preparation.

Three young boys,

They were playing with their toys.

The first one was playing with a car,

A small toy car.

The second one was playing with a rocket,

With a spaceship toy.

And the third one,

He was quietly sitting and apparently reading a book.

He was hiding a playboy magazine in a book,

In his school book,

And quietly reading that,

Looking at that.

The caretaker of these three young boys came,

Just wanted to talk to these boys.

He said,

So what do you want to become when you grow up?

The first one said,

I want to be a Formula 1 driver.

Look at me,

I'm preparing to be a Formula 1 driver and one day I will become the fastest car driver in the whole world.

The caretaker asked the second one,

So what do you want to become when you grow up?

The second one said,

I want to be an astronaut.

I want to join NASA and that's why I'm preparing to go into the spaceship one day,

How the spaceship works.

I want to be an astronaut and go into space where nobody has ever gone.

The caretaker looked at the third one,

Quietly sitting,

Reading.

He said,

What do you want to become when you grow up?

He said,

I want to grow up.

I'm preparing to grow up.

Stop preparing for life.

Stop preparing for subjects that are belonging to life.

You already know how to live.

You already know how to be in the subjects of life.

Anything that is concerned with life.

See that life and death,

This question is about death.

That is meditation preparedness,

Is preparing for death.

See that life and death are one and the same thing.

They are one and the same energy.

They are not two things.

They are the same energy.

Life and death.

We try to hold on to life and we try to run away from death.

We try to create this duality.

We live this duality.

We live this separation of life and death.

But this life and death are the same energy.

They are in fact one and the same thing.

They are not even two different things.

If you observe carefully.

If you observe meditatively this life.

When you will observe life,

You will come to death.

When you observe death,

You will come to life.

You will see that the more you observe,

The closer you go to life.

You will see that it is death.

The more closer you go to death,

You will see that it is life.

They are one and the same thing.

But we live this duality.

We create this separation and we constantly try to grab hold on to life and somehow live in this fear of death that the death should not ever happen.

Who is really in this fear if you ask yourself of death?

Is it life that is in fear of death?

Or is it something else in you that is in fear of death?

If you will look closer,

If you will look in the light of your consciousness,

Of your awareness,

What you will find out is it is not life that is afraid that is in fear of death.

It is your ego that is in fear of death.

It is the ego that is opposite to death.

It is the ego that is constantly avoiding death,

That is constantly in that process also not accepting life.

This ego is what is opposite to life and death.

This ego is opposite to life.

This ego is opposite to death.

Life and death are not opposites.

They are one and the same energy.

They are one and the same thing.

So as you are in meditation,

You observe this life,

You observe this death,

You observe this flow that is there in front of you and you see that they are one and the same energy and there is no preparedness required for that.

You simply jump in.

You simply live.

As long as there is life,

You live when there is no life,

Then who cares what is afterwards.

There is nothing afterwards.

There is only an unknown afterwards.

See in this process of life and death,

In every moment of something being created and something dying,

Something being born and something going back into this vast unknown,

You are experiencing this birth and death in every second of this continuity.

As much as you can,

As much as you are aware,

You can see that there is this continuity of life and death in every moment.

And as you come closer to this continuity,

You observe that in every moment there is life,

In every moment there is death.

So if there was,

Just for the idea of it,

If there was something that meditation brings to life,

It is this clarity of what life is,

Of what death is,

Of showing you that in every moment there is life,

In every moment there is death.

There is the death of the past and then there is this birth of the future of the very present which you experience in every moment as you sit in silence,

As you sit in awareness.

So the only thing meditation does is to take you out of all the rehearsals,

Out of all what the mind is keeping you busy with and throwing you back into this flow of life and death that is happening at every moment.

If you call that as preparedness for death,

You may call that.

If you want to take it as that it is showing you how to live life fully,

You may also see it like this.

But meditation is simply a jump into life,

Into awareness without having to have any preparation,

Without having to think about life,

About the idea of life and rather simply living it whatever it brings in its transience,

In its short-lived impermanence.

With that let us move on to the technique from Vigyan Bhairavtantra for today.

What Bhairava has given to us in 112 meditation techniques.

Bhairava says,

By freeing the mind of all support,

The self becomes one with the Supreme.

Let me repeat,

By freeing the mind of all support,

The self becomes one with the Supreme,

With the Supreme Self.

By freeing the mind of all support.

The technique here is to take all the support away from the mind.

As you sit in silence and you see that there are a thousand and one thoughts and you are constantly involved,

Distracted,

Unable to come out of this thinking process,

Out of the monkey mind,

All you have to do is withdraw your support to the mind.

You might be surprised to hear this because you are holding the mind.

It is not that the mind is holding you.

You are holding the mind all this time.

All this time while you feel that you are constantly in distraction,

In the thoughts and the thoughts are not stopping,

All the images,

All the ideas,

Everything that is going on in your mind is not stopping and you are trying to stop it,

You are in somewhat of a conflict,

Somewhat of a fight with it.

See that you are actually supporting the mind and you can withdraw that support from the mind.

You are holding on to the mind.

You are letting the mind to be the governance of your body,

Of your energies,

Of your system.

It is similar,

Not exactly the same,

It is similar to the governance of the government.

We are somehow living an idea that we need authority to govern us.

We need authority,

A system in place which has authority so that we are all in order.

We are living an assumption that without the authority there will be no order and therefore for us to live in that order,

To live in that authority we have created this system.

Mind is also somewhat similar where we are under an assumption that mind and the authority of mind is required to create an order in us.

But while you are in meditation,

You see it is exactly the opposite.

No mind is needed for an order of your energies,

For an order of your life.

You can live without the authority of the mind,

You can live in awareness which is self-regulating,

Which is self-disciplining.

You in your awareness,

In your spontaneity are always doing the right thing.

But the mind gives you this idea that you need someone to control,

Someone to authorise,

Someone to say what is right,

What is wrong,

Someone to keep you always under control.

And as you give this support away,

As you take this support away from mind,

Suddenly you see mind loses its energy in the awareness,

In the silence of meditation.

As you take the support away from the mind,

All the thoughts,

All the contents of your mind,

They lose their energy.

Mind loses its shape,

Mind becomes no mind,

It slowly melts and you are in pure awareness,

In pure consciousness,

Sitting in silence and life flowing with you,

In you and not at a distance,

Not as an idea,

Not as something to be ready for,

Something to be prepared for.

Let us sit in silence in meditation and practice this simple technique where you will just simply withdraw your support from the mind.

Whatever the mind does,

You withdraw your support from it.

Please close your eyes and take a posture that is comfortable for you.

With your body upright,

Relaxed yet alert.

A posture without any support,

Not leaning forwards,

Not leaning backwards,

Nor sideways,

Not forward,

A posture nearly supportless.

.

As the body finds a restful posture awareness inwards.

As the body finds a restful posture awareness inwards.

In your inner space,

In your mind,

There may be thoughts,

Ideas,

Images,

Whatever contents of your mind,

Withdraw your support from the mind.

Not fighting with the mind,

Not trying to suppress it,

Simply withdrawing your support.

.

.

.

.

You move in silence.

Letting the mind lose its energy on its own.

.

.

.

.

.

Letting the mind lose its shape,

Lose its form,

Lose its energy as you withdraw all support.

Sitting in restful awareness,

In silence,

In awareness.

Inhale.

Inhale.

Inhale.

Inhale.

Inhale.

Do not touch the mind.

Remain in silence,

In awareness.

Inhale.

Inhale.

Inhale.

Inhale.

Inhale.

In the silence,

Yourself merging in the supreme self.

In this silence,

No sense of self,

Only awareness.

In the silence,

You are only in the sense of self.

In the silence,

You are only in the sense of self.

In the silence,

In this silence of awareness,

Is life.

Very gently and slowly,

You may open your eyes,

Maintaining this restful awareness,

Silence,

And being in life,

Not at a distance,

In life,

In awareness,

Not in the mind,

In awareness.

On your spiritual journey,

If you wish to go deeper in your silence,

In your truth,

In your life energies,

To live life out of your spontaneity,

Out of your truth,

Out of your love,

And connectedness to everyone else,

You are more than welcome to flow with me and with other meditators in a Sangha,

In a sannyasa family,

In a community.

If you wish to do that,

Please apply by writing me an email with your introduction,

With your spiritual journey,

With your calling for a community,

A Sangha,

A sannyasa family,

And what can you give back.

Thank you very much.

Namaste.
