This is a practice in being here,
Wherever you're at,
With whatever you carry.
Some space for you here to put down what feels heavy and to rest for a moment.
To take that moment and create a pause,
An acknowledgement.
You made it,
You're here.
Despite whatever has been difficult,
Caused tension or tightness or pain of any sort,
You are here on this planet at this moment and I'm so happy to share this space with you.
So a moment now to check in,
Your body and breath if possible.
If it's too hard to do that,
You may keep your eyes open a little,
Softly,
Gently turning in.
But if it is comfortable perhaps,
Slowly close your eyes and then focus inward.
Notice no controlling,
Just exploring with curiosity.
Greet yourself,
How are you?
Notice sensation,
Temperature,
Heat and coolness,
Rhythm or vibrations or pulsations.
Light and shadow,
Notice it all.
Being here,
Present,
Practicing.
And this practice is ongoing so try to be patient and kind to yourself,
No harshness.
Instead,
Curiosity.
Curious about this friend you're meeting,
Like you'd meet a new animal friend.
Greeting,
Welcoming it all,
Especially the tight spots,
The tension.
Notice how can we use this,
Learn from tension and work with it to see it as an opportunity to create space,
To soften,
To release what is no longer helpful and make room for something else.
Creating space to begin again and again and again and new as many times as you need.
And this practice can happen anywhere,
Noticing,
Greeting,
How are you?
How do you feel?
Greeting that friend,
Kindly,
Gently.
Noticing with curiosity and then if coming across tension,
Seeing it without judgement.
Maybe even finding a way to see it with compassion,
A teacher,
An encouragement to soften.
You can soften in so many ways.
Maybe you soften by making space.
Maybe you soften by breathing in a way that feels more supportive.
Maybe you soften by trying not to control,
Unclenching,
Physically,
Mentally,
Emotionally.
Maybe you soften by practicing being kind towards yourself.
For acknowledging that you're taking time out right now to use your energy to create new space.
Maybe you soften by remembering that this is always available to you.
The opportunity to create space and to begin again and again and new.
Feel free to stay and soak.
If that's all the time that you have available today,
Perhaps you can give yourself a little smile,
A nod,
An acknowledgement.
If your eyes are closed,
Gently slowly blinking them open.
Another reminder of beginning again,
Seeing with new eyes,
Emerging,
Waking.
We can always start again.
