Let's do a self-inquiry meditation on the difference between concentration,
Choiceless knowing and attending to the totality without a centre.
For this meditation,
You will need a hand mirror and a red coloured object or cloth.
Some red coloured item.
Keep both the hand mirror and the red coloured item in front of you on a table.
Let's sit comfortably and let's close our eyes.
Attempt to turn towards the sense of I i.
E.
Beyond the closed eyes and beyond the mind.
Relax there,
Allowing the I to collapse.
That which is beyond is the Atma.
That is your true nature.
Abide in your own nature.
When the I shifts from the body-mind to the Atma,
That is true freedom from ignorance.
Attempt to abide as the Atma without the interference of thought.
When there is a realisation that the Atma and the one attempting to take the stand of the Atma are one and the same,
In that moment,
Thought cannot interfere.
In that interval,
The mind is quiet.
Memory is in abeyance.
There is no interference of thought.
Abide as the non-duality itself.
In the abidance of the Atma,
There is no difference between eyes closed and eyes open.
The division drops away.
Let's open our eyes and recognise the non-duality.
Let's pick up the hand mirror and let's look at the reflection of the face in the mirror.
Is there a recognition that the reflected face is somebody else and not I?
Has the I shifted from the body-mind to the Atma yet?
Can you,
The Atma,
Abide as the Atma without distraction from the thoughts regarding the reflected face in the mirror?
When there is involvement in the thoughts of the reflection in the mirror,
That is concentration.
Concentration will not allow you to take the stand as the Atma.
That is because you are focusing on something from a localised centre in concentration.
Atma is not the centre.
Atma is not even the periphery.
You are focusing on something from a fake and pretentious,
A created,
Localised centre which you have named as I.
Atma is not the centre.
Atma is not even the periphery.
Atma is the totality.
Quit concentration.
Defocus from the reflection in the mirror because focusing on it is creating a divide.
Remind yourself again and again.
Let me abandon that which makes the reflection in the mirror appear as if it is me.
Abandon that idea.
Abandon ignorance because ignorance creates a divide,
Duality,
Vaitam.
This reflection in the mirror is not me.
It is only an idea of self.
It is not self.
There is no self.
Self-abandonment with passion is a prerequisite to realise advaitam.
In the absence of division,
The totality is revealed.
Be with the totality.
Be with the totality.
The totality will reveal that everything is merely its content and the content is made of the same substance as the totality.
Don't get distracted by choiceless knowing.
Choiceless knowing is that when you don't want to know something.
For example,
The red colour of the cloth sitting on the table in front of you.
You don't want to know but you know that it is red.
The label red appears and disappears.
This is choiceless knowing.
Don't get distracted by choiceless knowing.
All labels fall under the umbrella of choiceless knowing.
You have not chosen to know.
Yet,
In your peripheral visual field,
There is the mirror,
The reflection,
The red cloth,
The table,
The door,
The window,
The room,
The walls,
The furniture,
The sounds from near and far,
The smells from the kitchen,
The flavour of the saliva,
The sensations arising and falling,
Feelings arising and falling.
All labels,
All labels,
They are simply choiceless knowing.
Discard the labels and be with the totality.
Be with the totality without the interference of labels regarding the totality.
This means be with the entirety,
Not the parts.
Let the observation be diffused,
Not localised,
Not concentrated,
Diffused.
Be with the whole,
Without a central observer.
Be without a focal point.
Be without a decision or a decision maker.
Be without a will.
Let the observation be diffused,
An observation devoid of an observer.
Here,
There is simply the totality,
Without an attender to the totality.
The energy is 100% as none of the energy is wasted in labelling.
There is no I here to limit the attention.
In the absence of a limitation,
The totality has complete space.
When there is complete space,
Then the labels start emptying out.
Thought had put together these labels and a false reality had been created.
That falseness starts shedding away.
Allow it to empty out,
Leaving behind only the true silence of emptiness.
That is true meditation,
True Samadhi.
Simply being the silence of emptiness.
The emptiness that comes about by the shedding away of the false and actual seeing of the reality.
This silence of emptiness is not an induced silence.
It is not a practiced silence.
This silence comes from simply seeing reality with total attention.
Where there is attention without an attender.
Where there is no localization.
Where totality has the complete space.
Enter it.
Establish it as the I.
Enter it.
Establish it as the I.
Enter it.
Establish it as the I.
