Let's do a self-exploration meditation on the True Inner Guru,
The Sadguru.
A self-exploration meditation is a self-inquiry.
To do a proper,
Thorough self-inquiry,
One must remain alert and awake and must avoid slipping into a trance or into sleep.
Relax the body,
Sit comfortably and close your eyes.
Take a step beyond the body to the thoughts in the mind.
Don't jump in and shake hands with any thought.
Simply stand at a distance and notice it pass by.
You are beyond the thoughts.
You are beyond the feelings.
You are simply standing at a distance,
Observing the thoughts and the feelings pass by.
You are the witness of the thoughts and the feelings passing by.
Now,
Take your focus away from the thoughts and feelings and turn the focus towards yourself,
The background,
The witness consciousness,
The sense of I am.
Notice the sinking back that happens automatically when you move the focus away from the thought towards yourself.
To recognize the sinking sensation,
Again,
Focus on the thoughts or feelings and then turn the focus away from the thought and feeling onto yourself and notice the sinking or melting away.
There is no real physical sinking back happening here.
It is simply the result of letting go of the thought or the feeling.
When you feverishly hold onto the thought,
It becomes a desire.
Desire creates an uneasiness.
When you unhook from the thought and simply turn towards yourself,
The thought dissolves.
The feverishness or the uneasiness associated with the thought also dissolves.
Everything gets sucked into the black hole of nothingness.
Let's explore this in silence for the next few minutes.
Number one,
Recognize the feverishness associated with holding onto a thought and turning it into a desire.
Number two,
Recognize the sinking back sensation or the melting away sensation or the relaxation that happens by releasing the thought and letting the nothingness take it away by turning towards your own self.
Now you recognize that the witness goes both ways.
It can go outwards towards the mind,
Get entangled into a thought,
Create a desire out of it and assume doership or experiencership.
This is called Raga.
On the other hand,
The witness can simply sink back into nothingness of consciousness and allow itself to be sucked into the black hole of nothingness simply by renouncing the thought and turning towards itself.
This is Tyaga.
The witness can go both ways.
Raga and Tyaga.
Raga brings restlessness,
Feverishness.
Tyaga brings peace.
When you recognize the ability of the witness to know both the person as well as nothingness,
You have recognized the true inner guru.
That is the Sadguru.
Once you recognize the true guru,
You become spiritually independent.
The Sadguru is sitting on the fence right in the middle.
The Sadguru,
The witness,
Is sitting on the fence.
This consciousness,
The sense of I am,
Whatever name you may call it,
It is sitting right in the middle between the person and nothingness,
Between Raga and Tyaga,
Between suffering and peace.
The inner guru guides you to turn your attention away from every thought,
Every feeling,
Every sensation and every perception.
Turn the focus towards the inner guru.
When the focus is turned towards the inner guru,
The inner guru holds the hand of the thought,
Feeling,
Sensation of perception and disappears along with it into the stillness,
Into the emptiness of the pure consciousness.
Into shunyata,
Nothingness.
Notice that the Sadguru also disappears.
He disappears into the innermost core of your being.
He shows you the final truth.
The Sadguru appears when you are ready.
The Sadguru disappears when you are ready.
Let the Sadguru disappear.
Don't hold on to him.
In fact,
You dissolve along with him into the shunyata,
The void.
Become spiritually independent.
Dissolve.
Dissolve.
Dissolve.
Hold the hand of the inner Sadguru and dissolve.
