Forgiving is not always an easy thing to do. Sometimes we don't even feel like the person deserves to be forgiven and that's a completely valid way to feel. However, holding onto resentment and anger for long periods is not good for our mental health. Therefore, it's important to be able to practice forgiveness for the sake of our own inner peace. It does not mean we have to forget or even have to be involved in the person's life that we felt did us wrong. This is about moving forward from emotion that has been affecting us for far too long. This exercise will help you to do exactly that.

Welcome to this guided meditation based on forgiveness,

Compassion and empathy.

Find a quiet and comfortable space where you can fully immerse yourself in this practice.

Throughout this journey,

We will explore the depths of forgiveness and cultivate a compassionate heart,

Embracing empathy for ourselves and others.

Please close your eyes gently and take a few deep and intentional breaths.

Let each breath bring you into the present moment,

Allowing any tension or stress to melt away.

Feel yourself being supported by the ground beneath you,

Rooted and stable.

Let's begin by repeating some affirmations based on love and compassion.

Please repeat after me.

I am deserving of love and compassion.

I forgive myself for any mistakes or shortcomings.

I release self judgment and embrace self acceptance.

I am deserving of love and compassion.

I forgive myself for any mistakes or shortcomings.

I release self judgment and embrace self acceptance.

I am deserving of love and compassion.

I forgive myself for any mistakes or shortcomings.

I release self judgment and embrace self acceptance.

Now we have primed our minds to embrace the forgiveness in our heart.

I would like you to bring to mind a situation or person in your life that has caused you pain,

Resentment or anger.

Recognize the weight that holding onto these emotions carries.

In this moment choose to release these burdens and open yourself to the possibility of forgiveness.

Repeat these phrases silently or aloud,

Adapting them to your situation.

I acknowledge the pain caused and I choose to release it.

I extend forgiveness to.

.

.

And then put a name or a person after that.

I extend forgiveness to.

.

.

And free myself from its hold.

I aspire to heal and let compassion guide my actions.

Well done,

You've just taken the first step of releasing.

Now I would like you to visualize a stream of warm golden light flowing from your heart center.

See this light expanding,

Extending to others and the world around you.

As you envision this light repeat these phrases silently or aloud.

May all beings experience forgiveness and liberation from suffering.

May the hearts of others be filled with compassion and empathy.

I send love and understanding to those in need.

That's great.

Now I would like you to reflect on the shared human experience,

Recognizing that we all face challenges,

Make mistakes and yearn for love and understanding.

Cultivate a sense of interconnectedness by repeating the following phrases silently or aloud.

We are all interconnected in the vast web of existence.

Our shared experiences bind us with compassion and empathy.

May I deepen my understanding and embrace the oneness that unites us all.

That's great.

And finally I would like you to spend a couple of minutes just being grateful for everything in your life.

When we can focus on what we are grateful for in life,

It helps us to look at the world with a new perspective.

And then we can embrace things that happen to us in a manner in which we are able to forgive,

Be empathic and we are able to understand where people are coming from and the experiences that come to us may not seem like they are against us and we can look at them from an opportunity of growth.

As we conclude this meditation,

Hold on to the intention of forgiveness,

Compassion and empathy in your daily life.

Know that this profound practice has the power to transform not only your relationships but also your own inner landscape.

Embrace forgiveness for yourself and others,

Cultivate compassion in your interactions and extend empathy towards the world.

Carry this sense of interconnectedness and love as you go about your day.
