Explore a self-massage and acupressure microbreak, Kidney 1 Yong Quan (Bubbling sprint can be found at the base of your feet). This is a great practice to do if you’re feeling tired or if you experienced insomnia. Massaging this point draws the energy down, away from the head and the mind, towards the soles of your feet. It brings all that nervous energy down, creating a peaceful, grounded state of mind. This comes from the course, Microbreaks: Ignite Energy and Focus with the Creative Cycle.

For your fourth microbreak to fill your well,

We'll explore a self-massage and acupressure microbreak.

If you're pregnant,

Please skip this microbreak as it may trigger uterine contractions.

In place of this microbreak,

You may wish to follow the first lesson of my other course,

Healing Touch,

Emotional Alchemy Acupressure and the Power of the Creative Cycle.

For this microbreak,

It's ideal to do this barefoot as the acupressure point we're exploring Kidney 1 Yongquan or Bubbling Spring can be found at the base of your feet.

This is a great practice to do if you're feeling tired.

And you can also do this after your Xixihu breathing technique right after you wake up,

Especially if you didn't sleep well last night.

Massaging this point draws the energy down away from the head and the mind towards the soles of your feet,

Releasing nervous energy and creating a peaceful and grounded state of mind.

Start by locating the Yongquan,

Bubbling Spring point at the base of your foot.

This is roughly in the center of your foot where the ball of your foot meets the arch of your foot.

I like to use my thumb to gently massage this point,

But you are welcome to use any finger or any massage tool that feels good for you.

Later when you massage this point,

You'll inhale for three counts and exhale for six counts,

And we'll repeat this for a total of three times.

I like to massage both of my feet at the same time with my thumb of the same hand,

And you are welcome to do so if that feels good for you.

Or if you prefer to do one foot at a time,

You are welcome to do one side,

Pause the audio,

Rewind it back,

And then repeat it on the other side.

I'll guide you through the process.

Let's try it together.

Gently press onto the Bubbling Spring point of your foot or feet as you breathe in for three,

Two,

One.

And now slowly release as you exhale for six,

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Press,

Inhale,

Three,

Two,

One.

Slowly release,

Exhale,

Six,

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Press,

Inhale,

Three,

Two,

One.

Slowly release,

Exhale,

Six,

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Gently circle and massage the point or points,

And then slowly relax your foot,

And take a few moments to notice any sensations in the center of your foot or feet,

In your legs,

And in your body.

If you did this only on one side,

You can now pause the audio and rewind it,

And repeat the same process for the other side.

Feel free to continue to massage the rest of your foot,

Including the balls of your feet,

Including the balls of your feet,

Your heels,

The toes,

And the gaps of your toes,

If you wish.

If you've completed both rounds,

Gently bring your palms together,

And rub your hands against each other.

When your hands feel warm enough,

You can cover your healing hands over the base of your feet or foot.

I also recommend concluding with a warm foot bath that will help you to release overthinking,

And welcome physical and mental relaxation.
