Good evening,

This is Gemma and this is a yoga nidra to support you in winding down from your day gently transitioning into a state of rest or if it comes naturally to letting go into sleep you don't need to do anything at all now except listen and rest anything unfinished from today can also rest until tomorrow it's ok to let go of the day now and simply allow yourself to be if you drift in and out of awareness allow yourself to do so and if you find yourself drifting into sleep you can let go of the practice entirely when you're ready,

Allow the body to settle you may want to lie in a supported position on your back or settle into your most comfortable position for sleep begin with a few deep breaths here a long gentle inhale through the nose and a long extended exhale letting it all out the inhale slow and deep the exhale releasing any tensions from the day time to let go and rest bring awareness to the face allow the forehead to soften the eyes to soften the chin the cheeks ears the jaw releasing the jaw the tongue the right shoulder the left shoulder awareness at the left shoulder elbow wrist and hand notice the chest the ribcage the belly awareness at the right hip knee and foot bring awareness to the left hip knee and foot sense the whole right side of the body sense the whole left side of the body and letting go notice the front side of the body gently rising and falling with each breath and the back of the body sinking into the surface beneath you notice the whole body as one now the whole body heavy and letting go notice the natural breath the natural breath moving in and out with each inhale inviting peace and with each exhale the body softens a little more inhaling peace exhaling softening imagine yourself now on the shore of a wide still lake the sun is setting fading into dusk the light of the day softens and reflects on the glassy surface of the water you feel the warm sand of the shore beneath your feet you look down and see a line drawn in the sand everything from the day stays behind this line and on the other side is calm and stillness you step softly over the line into the quiet evening leaving the day behind you you return your gaze to the lake and notice the moon reflecting its soft light back from the water's surface the body relaxes the mind eases and you are held in this gentle stillness resting here more deeply relaxed with each breath allowing any thoughts or images to gently rise and dissolve like gentle waves on the water at peace
