Pretty much every day the same thing happens over and over again every single day.

We live our lives basically on autopilot,

Trying to get from one week to the next,

Looking forward to maybe having one weekend off or one week off a year or maybe two weeks if we're super lucky.

But is that what life is all about,

Just two weeks of enjoyment and the rest is just steady hard work and looking forward to retirement?

So you have to ask yourself,

How do we break free from the mundane?

How do we break free from this duality,

This world of dualities where there's good and bad,

Happiness and sorrow,

Highs and lows and it just seems like you're maybe on a teeter totter going from one extreme to the other extreme and bouncing back and forth in the middle,

Never knowing where it heads to.

You're just aimlessly going in any direction that life will take you.

So join me,

Sit back,

Relax and take a few minutes to soak all this in.

I'm going to share one of life's greatest secrets of how to go beyond,

How to experience divineness in this life,

Not wait until you die to experience divineness or heaven,

But how to experience heaven in this life,

This very moment could be heaven.

You may not feel it,

You may not know it,

You may not even understand it,

How that could be,

But just give me a few moments and I'll shed a little insight as to how that can be done.

Quite a few years back I started meditating,

Basically because I had an illness and I was trying everything,

Prayer and all kinds of different medicines,

Chinese medicines,

Western medicine but nothing seemed to be helping me.

So I needed to find something else,

I was just disappearing,

I was just whittling away to nothing and I had to find something to help change me.

I didn't know that,

I didn't realize that when I started meditating that it would change my whole life,

But it did,

It changed everything drastically.

But it wasn't just meditating,

It was active meditation that really jumped forward because when I first started meditating I was living at maybe 75%,

Which is up from like 20% of when I was really feeling sickly and everything.

So anyway,

When I started meditating and adding meditation into my work,

That's when I jumped up to like 80-90% living.

Bringing awareness,

That's the key factors,

Bringing awareness to a focal point,

To one concentrated point where there's no past and no future,

Just that awareness in the present moment.

That's what can catapult you out of the mundane life.

It starts to vibrate and send energy upwards into your chakra system,

Into your aura,

You want to call it.

And when that happens,

The 90% rate keeps working its way upward and upward and upward the more you meditate.

So not only did I meditate while I worked,

I meditated while I played,

If I went surfing.

It was just a form of meditation.

Just waiting for that next wave,

Waiting for the next moment where it was my turn to get up and shine.

And you bring meditation into that and you just concentrate and live like the samurai would in the samurai days where you would move faster than you could think.

You move through your consciousness and you basically awaken an inner being residing in you that's sleepy.

So all the while this was happening to me as I was growing in consciousness and almost living like a Zen Buddhist monk would live where everything he does is a form of meditation all day and all night.

Even sleeping becomes a form of meditation because you can meditate while you sleep.

You can fall asleep and be conscious and then wake up in the morning and still be conscious too.

I know it sounds kind of weird but it's pretty cool when it happens when you start doing it.

But the body can sleep while the consciousness is just pure and present and awake and aware.

I used to listen to my body snore as I'm sitting there in deep meditation and I can hear my body snoring.

I can tell that I'm asleep but it's just one of those things that makes you wonder,

How can that be?

But this bringing meditation into everything you do brings it to a focal point and it gets you up into the 90 to 95 percentile range when you're doing it all the time and just practicing awareness all the time.

But it wasn't really until I had my near-death experience that released me from what I was doing wrong.

It wasn't much.

It was just basically I was living in fear of certain things and then I also had maybe a desire for some future that didn't exist yet.

But those two things were pulling me from being 100% in the now and 100% in the present moment.

But after the near-death experience,

I had an epitome that said,

Life is never going to get any better than this.

This is it.

This is as good as life is ever going to be.

You may not be any younger than you are now and at the moment I was like,

I don't think I'll be able to surf better than I do now.

Maybe this is as good as it gets.

This is it.

This is the epitome.

And when you have a moment like that,

When you have this awakening and this aha straw that broke the camel's back,

Then you live at the 100%.

And unfortunately it's not until you live at 100% that the miracle happens.

That you're catapulted into a new life,

Into a new existence.

When enlightenment happened to me,

It wasn't as if I was being enlightened.

It was as if my eyes were opened to everything else that is already enlightened.

The whole world just descended upon,

This light descended upon all of my existence.

Everything I could see,

Everything I could feel.

This electric magnetic honey,

This essence just totally overcame me.

And I felt like what it was as a Western translation is that I felt like I was being welcomed back into the Garden of Eden.

And I've often wondered,

As all this happened to me,

I wondered why it never happened before.

When I was practicing Christianity,

When I was a Christian,

I had moments of highs where I felt like God was kissing me.

Like it was you being touched and there were these spirit butterflies just make your body tingle all over and you feel so beautiful.

And it's a high moment,

But it's still not enlightenment.

It's like you're basically getting up to the porch of God's house,

But you're not welcomed in yet.

Like the whole teaching,

The Western teaching of Jesus and Christianity is about love and sharing and expressing and growing that love.

But they never said that Jesus meditated.

And I sometimes wondered,

Like,

Maybe they just erased all that out of our history books and the Bible,

That there's a possibility that Jesus was a meditator.

So I've wondered,

Can you do it on love alone?

Is it possible?

Because like I said,

When I was a Christian,

I experienced those moments of beautiful butterflies floating down my shoulders and like God,

You know,

Gracing my presence on the earth.

But like I said,

It's nothing compared to stepping in God's house and meeting God.

And if you meet God,

Then there's not two anymore.

There's only one.

Because the closer you get to the center of a wheel,

The spokes blend together and they come to one hub.

And that's what you're doing when you're living life in a hundred percentile,

A hundred percent in the present moment.

You are moving closer and closer and closer to the center of the hub.

And only one can exist at the center.

So you dissolve,

But God dissolves also into you.

So they say the saying that the drop drops into the ocean and becomes the ocean,

But the ocean becomes the drop too.

In fact,

I wonder sometimes if God just does this to trade places every once in a while,

To live through an enlightened being,

To use his eyes,

To use his ears,

To have this experience in the human form.

Because in the human form,

Everything can seem so beautiful,

Especially from a purified human form,

Somebody who is enlightened.

You hear things differently,

You see things differently,

You understand things differently.

It's very,

Very difficult to try to push a lie or pass a lie through an enlightened being,

Because they have so many nodal points to observe from.

Maybe that's what existence is all about,

That we're this spaceship hurtling through space,

Self-sustaining,

Totally self-sustaining.

And if you think about it,

The Earth is basically a spaceship.

It's just hurtling through space and time,

And this beautiful gravity that we know gives us life somehow.

This miracle exists that we're here,

And maybe we're here to experience.

Maybe this spaceship traveling through time is an opportunity to allow you to experience godliness,

To experience what God is in the human form.

And unfortunately,

The only way to experience it is if you are living a hundred percent.

Like I said,

I kept going up and up and up and up,

But it wasn't enough.

I just wasn't there yet to experience the present moment in a hundred percent capacity,

Until I had the near-death experience.

And then it just freed me.

It wasn't a miracle that I lived through it,

But how it changed me was the real miracle.

That didn't happen until the next day after the experience happened,

When I sat back to meditate and,

Like I said,

Life is never going to get any better than this.

I may never be able to surf any better.

Who knows what future there is?

I just stopped caring about a future.

I just totally stopped caring about any future,

And I dropped the past at the same time.

So those two things coincided,

And that was the straw that broke the camel's back and made me the man I am today.

But also let me keep expressing what I meant to say earlier about why can't love do it alone?

Why can't love,

I mean,

Why is meditation needed to break the door open?

Even love has its duality.

Love and hate are two opposite poles of the same reality.

So love alone,

Maybe if you could love without hate and be just totally loving all the time,

But I don't think it's really humanly possible to do it.

Some people come close.

Some people are very beautiful,

Loving souls.

But you're driving to work in the morning,

You come up to an intersection and there's a homeless person,

A panhandler,

And if you have money to give them you feel great,

But sometimes it feels like you're not loving if you don't share.

They play this guilt trip on you and it's this horrible feeling that you can't help everybody.

You don't make enough money to help everybody and it's not your duty to help everybody.

You do what you can.

And giving in itself is one of the greatest gifts.

But you don't have to just give money.

There are other things you can give.

You can give your time.

You can give your attention or a smile.

Sometimes it's just the little things in life that help people to change and help smooth things out in life to make things easier to cope with.

So I believe it's because of this duality that exists with love and that life has to have some sort of balance.

Even love has to have balance.

And lovers,

Couples who have a love-hate relationship,

One minute they're happy and on high and everything's going beautiful and great,

But sometimes it just takes this one little thing to set that person off and then they spiral down in the other direction towards hate.

And then the couples have a big fight and they spend a little time thinking about why they fought and let the night pass and wake up the next morning feeling like it never happened before.

Like you just let it go and it's in the past.

So yeah,

Love is still in the dualistic world,

In the eyes of the Taoist.

And meditation and awareness take you out of that dualistic world.

And then when that happens,

When you're released and freed from the dualistic world,

Then your eyes are open to a new existence where everything is love.

And actually at that point on,

There's no room in your life for hate.

Hate and love don't exist as separate entities when you're an enlightened being.

They coexist,

But they dissolve into pure love and pure compassion for everyone and everything.

So anyway,

That's kind of deep and I'm very glad that you guys took the time to listen to all this.

But anyway,

Thanks again for joining me and we'll talk again some other time and some other time soon,

Hopefully.

Take care of yourselves and aloha and namaste to all my spiritual friends.

Much love and happiness to everybody and do what you can to try to live 100% in the present moment and see what happens.

Anyway,

That's my insight for today.

Take care of yourselves.

Thank you for listening.
