So welcome everybody,
Welcome to tonight's stream.
My name's Philip Waite from North Yorkshire in England.
I'm broadcasting from the home of the Universal Studio.
Tonight's stream is all about spiritual inquiry.
I've used the term satsang.
I don't tend to use the Eastern terms very often,
But it's probably a well-recognised word.
But really,
I'm dedicating the stream to the spiritual inquiry questions,
And there's a number that have been posted in the group,
And I'll get to those shortly.
But before we get going on responding to those questions that people have raised,
Let's just have a few moments,
A few minutes of meditation just to bring us into a space of awareness,
And then we'll get to the questions.
Okay,
So if you want to just close your eyes now for a moment and just simply become aware of what's here now,
And just totally and silently accepting that without any judgement,
Just simply,
Silently,
Non-judgementally witnessing whatever's here,
And just resting in this,
Just being open from your heart to connect with the energy of the spheres,
The energy of the spheres.
Nothing to visualise,
Nothing to do,
Just be open.
From this energy of the spheres,
I also call spheres of light,
Akin to the pure,
Universal state.
I am the non-personal,
Universal,
Infinite.
I am this pure being.
And knowing now,
Even as subtle as this may be,
This state,
It can be sensed or witnessed,
What I call a silent witness,
Merging with this witnessing presence that sees all the phenomena appearing.
And even this silent witness is like a sliver of ice in an ocean of water,
And it's dissolving,
Melting,
Becoming one with the water.
And the water is like an ocean of infinite silence,
Infinite awareness.
In silence we trust.
In silence you will realise your truth.
In truth you will realise you are silence,
Infinite silence.
This rarefied atmosphere,
Silence,
Transforms,
Transmutes,
Disarms,
All that you are not becoming one in,
As,
And through this infinite silence.
Be still,
Know this infinite silence,
Untouched,
Unmoved,
Unblemished,
Eternal,
Infinite silence.
Knowing now,
One can rest in this,
Through this,
As this,
Always.
In a moment now,
I'm going to ring the Ting-Shar Bells three times,
And as the sound of the bells gently fades to silence,
Aware of your body,
The chair you're sat in,
Or whatever you may be laying on,
Aware of the space,
Just simply aware.
And when the moment's right for you,
If you haven't already done so,
Just gently opening your eyes.
Good.
Good.
I'm glad you found that relaxing blossom.
So,
To the questions that have been posted in the group,
And if there's any other ones posted in the comments,
I'll try and pick up on those if we've got time.
The key thing about spiritual enquiry,
And all of the questions that people ask,
And as I've said,
I've answered thousands of the years,
I have a live stream replay focusing specifically on this.
I think there might be two of them actually,
I can't remember the numbers of them now.
But they all come down to one question.
Who am I?
Who am I?
So if you want to explore that in depth,
Listen out for those live stream replays.
There's definitely one,
And there might be two with that in the title,
Where I explain in depth why that question's important.
But the key thing about spiritual enquiry,
And the whole process of Self-Realisation,
Is about recognising who you really are,
Which is so much more than this body-mind experience.
It is in fact infinite silence,
Or infinite awareness,
Or infinite consciousness.
And this body is something that you have,
But it is not that which you are,
In the same way that you might have a car.
A car is something that you have,
But you're not the car that your body's like.
In the meditation we've just done,
I do that in such a way to open you to start to recognise you,
That there's an awareness that is always untouched,
Unmoved,
Unblemished,
By whatever's appearing in front of consciousness,
Or on the green screen of consciousness,
As I like to call it.
Just like in the movies,
The big mistake and the only block to Self-Realisation is belief.
Belief in and the case of mistaken identity.
And that's,
For the purposes of our questions tonight,
Is a small I.
The ego I,
The identity I.
And where it is,
What we're looking for,
Is the infinite I,
The infinite silence,
The infinite consciousness.
And it's always,
Always,
Always here,
Never not here.
And what we did there was a version of the infinite silence meditation to help you open to that.
And there are seven lengths of that on my profile on InsightAnna,
From a quarter to an hour,
To an hour and a half,
In the increasing gaps of silence.
And when the one that has the questions is the identity I,
The infinite I,
The true essence,
The true Self,
The realised essence,
The infinite I,
Has no questions.
So it's always important to consider our perspective when we're talking about the questions and which I are we coming from.
All the questions are important,
There are no bad ones.
And that,
You know,
Everybody's journey and what I found over the years is one person's question is everybody's question.
So even if there's a question you haven't thought of,
It's likely that you'll get something from that.
So the first question tonight actually is from Nicole.
And it's actually to do with children and teens.
And she's saying this is the age group that she communicates with most.
I hear a lot of people lately saying we need to build resiliency or grit in children.
Words like that will toughen them up.
My first thought is the heart will always want to be open and soft,
Not tough.
And meditation on true self is the true resilience builder.
Any other thoughts on helping children and teens?
The first thing for me to share there Nicole is in relation to your own insight,
You know,
About the heart remaining open,
Gentle and actually that's exactly what we're looking for.
Because what happens with identification with the body mind eye,
The identity eye,
Is we cover the heart with identity.
And that results in us building up,
Which I've explained at length on previous streams,
The emotional body,
Otherwise known as the pain body and so forth,
Through experiences in childhood,
Even previous lives or that's another stream altogether.
And through traumatic experiences and experience of life and we build up the emotional body.
And that overlay of identity,
The ego mind identity over the heart space creates the experience of the emotional body in brief.
Again,
For a full exploration of that,
Look at my previous live stream replays.
But actually it turns out,
Although we use language like broken hearted and so forth,
Actually the heart can bear it all.
That which it turns out is broken and is suffering isn't the heart at all.
It is in fact the identity eye,
The small eye,
The ego eye,
The ego mind eye.
Because that's always in a journey of self,
More or less self preservation,
Protecting its belief system.
And belief is like an armor that it puts in front of itself.
When it comes to children and teens,
We've all seen,
I guess,
That children,
Very young children,
They're filled with joy and they're not so focused on this small eye.
Identity haven't necessarily gone through as much conditioning as somebody who's 30,
40,
50,
60 years old.
And they tend to be very in the moment children.
But as they move into teenage years,
It's quite typical,
As I'm sure we've all seen,
To kind of go into a bit of an identity crisis,
Trying to figure out who they are in this world with information being thrown at them from a largely unconscious world.
They're saying,
You are this body mind,
Whether it be female,
Male,
Or whatever identity you want to choose.
And that can be a very confusing state for children moving into teenage years and then into early adult years.
That kind of ego identity structure is very much in formation at that stage.
And he's being informed by the experiences that they go through.
So I agree completely with you,
Nicole,
That the true resilience actually,
I'm just going to look at your sentence here now.
The true resilience,
The true self is the true resilience.
And that is exactly it.
You see,
That which we truly are,
The infinite awareness,
The infinite consciousness,
The infinite silence,
As I was pointing out in the meditation,
Is always irrespective of whatever's happening in life.
Untouched,
Unmoved,
Unblemished,
Regardless of the circumstances of life.
And that has infinite power and needs no protection.
It is,
If you like,
Infinitely resilient.
So in terms of children and teens and the Southpaw,
The greatest resilience builder is always going to be connecting with the awareness,
The untouched,
Unblemished awareness that's within.
And meditation,
Awareness-based meditation is the solution for that.
Toughening people up,
So to speak,
Is an illusion.
All that's doing is adding to the pain body,
Creating the so-called thick skin.
But that thick skin is just a belief-based armour that ultimately is fragile and is subject to constant attack,
So to speak,
From a world that is largely unconscious.
But it's also subject to questioning and identity crises from within.
So this idea of grit and toughening people up is a delusion about the world would have you believe.
I'm sure that we all recognise that,
Really,
But actually that true resilience is only,
Only,
Only going to come from within.
So if we can encourage our children,
Our teens,
Right from an early age to be open to simple forms of meditation and connecting to that inner space that's always untouched,
Unblemished,
That's going to help them so much as they come into the teenage years,
Into early adulthood and throughout their whole of their lives.
Unfortunately now,
Certainly here in the UK,
And I know you're in the US,
Perhaps that's happening in some schools there,
There are an increasing number of examples of exposing young children to simple meditative practices.
I remember coming across one a few years ago,
They called it the peace button,
Which was your navel or belly button,
And they were getting,
Which is also an energy centre in the body,
And they were getting the children to connect with that space through simple meditative practices.
And even at the ages of six,
Seven,
Eight and more,
The children were recognising the benefits of that and that they felt calmer,
They felt steadier,
Could cope with issues in the playground,
Etc,
Etc.
Through that process,
Just through very simple and brief maybe five,
Ten minute meditations at the start of the school day.
I've also heard examples,
This came to me when I first saw your question,
Nicole,
Where in some schools they do something called circle time,
Where all the kids in the class sit in a circle,
And for the very young children they have a circle time TED,
Quite a cute little idea,
And the TED gets passed around and each child is allowed to speak what's here for them,
You know,
Just like a minute or so as they go around the class in the morning.
And everybody has to listen if you're holding circle time TED.
And the power of that process is beyond words really because it helps also people become,
Children become much more aware earlier and much more emotionally intelligent earlier.
This is much more effective than the idea of if you don't stop crying I'll give you something to cry about and toughening you up.
That's only going to lead to a build up in the emotional body and suffering in later life.
So the more we can expose our children,
Teens and so forth to meditative practices and eventually spiritual inquiry,
The more resilience we will build,
The calmer they will be,
The more enlightened and aware society will be.
So that's what comes to me from your question.
I'm just going to look at your responses there.
Good,
So you're saying you've been telling my kids that the heart can take it and they love it.
Excellent.
And then you then go on to say they naturally understand this.
And of course they do.
It's a bit like Joseph,
Age seven,
Who's been on with Maria on a few of the streams and mostly gets completely what I'm pointing out because that overlay of identity isn't so strong in the early years.
So I'm glad that you've been sharing that.
And what else is Nichol saying?
Yes,
I've changed all my mindfulness based meditation with teens to awareness based meditations.
Excellent.
We do awareness based listening to a friend every day and it is powerful.
And I'm sure it is.
And that sounds a little bit like the circle time I was talking about one of the examples I heard of many years ago,
Because that not only will develop listening skills,
It will develop awareness skills,
It will develop the inner resilience and a connection with that which can stay with them for life.
And it will also lead to a natural compassion and compassion is actually a natural perfume of the infinite silence,
The infinite awareness.
So I'm delighted to hear that.
On the same subject,
Alan is just adding,
I remember as a child,
Having an early identity crisis,
The main question being what exactly separates me from the rest of reality?
Not stated like that at that time,
But that was the core.
Indeed,
It was Alan,
As an adult,
You're able to articulate and express that.
Because again,
Because the overlay of identity is not so strong in children,
They don't see the world in the way that adults through which is through the lens of belief,
Identification and attachment.
And it's belief that is the big separator beliefs.
Listen to this beliefs divide,
Silence unites,
Beliefs divide,
Silence unites.
And I could also change that word silence for awareness.
It's beliefs that create divisions,
Awareness or infinite silence is unity.
Stefan's asking,
Could I clarify the difference between mindfulness based meditation and awareness based meditation?
I'm actually not trained in mindfulness practices.
So you might want to speak to Nicole about that.
Really,
All meditation is,
Is awareness.
Awareness is meditation.
Awareness is the essence of meditation.
Awareness is that which you are.
Everything else is a stepping stone to meditation.
And it's not true meditation.
That's all you need to know.
Awareness is the essence of meditation.
Awareness is that which you are.
Awareness is infinite silence is life.
I can see a couple of donations have come through from Lee and Ruth.
So thank you very much for those.
They're much appreciated.
In fact,
I was just going to say to you that we put the last,
I think it's about 40 or 50 donations through from insight timer to the flooding appeal in Pakistan.
You may have heard there's been some serious flooding there.
So I decided to put the donations to that.
So I think that equates it to about the last 40 or 50 donations.
So thank you for that.
That's gone to the disaster,
The emergency committee,
Which is a charity that coordinates response to disasters like that.
Just looking at all the comments on this before I move on to the next question,
Ben is saying,
I believe infinite silence cannot be found in thought,
But sometimes it feels as though thought is trying to realize the silence.
Yes,
That would be a delusion.
That second part,
You will not get to awareness through mind and thought.
Only awareness recognizes itself as awareness.
And I think there's one other comment.
Alan said,
Just reaffirming he did indeed only when I started meditation,
Was I able to experientially have a glimpse.
The answer is nothing.
Nothing separates me.
I am just all of it.
That's true.
That's true.
Okay.
So I'm going to move on to Nicole's question,
Which she wasn't sure if it was a question.
It's just a kind of a series of things,
But I actually wanted to comment on it because actually there's something important in it that I wanted to draw out.
So she's saying,
I'm not sure if it's a question,
But basically Nicole saying a recent excerpt from New York Times,
Gravity rules outer space,
Shaping galaxies and indeed the whole universe.
Whereas quantum mechanics rules inner space,
The arena of atoms and elementary particles.
The two realms long seem to have had nothing to do with each other.
This left scientists ill-equipped to understand what happens in an extreme situation like a black hole or the beginning of the universe.
But a blizzard of research in the last decade on the inner lives of black holes has revealed unexpected connections between the two views of the cosmos.
The implications are mind bending,
Including the possibility that our three dimensional universe and we ourselves may be holograms like the ghostly anti-counterfeiting images that appear on some credit cards and driver's licenses.
In this version of the cosmos,
There is no difference between here and there,
Cause and effect,
Inside and outside,
Or perhaps even there and now.
And I wanted to read that out because that actually,
That science beginning to catch up with where spirituality has been for thousands of years.
And one way of looking at it,
You know,
I've used a lot,
The term a lot on live streams.
Everything appears within the field of awareness in front of awareness or within the field of awareness.
And I also use the term the green screen of consciousness,
All phenomena,
Just like in the movies appear on the green screen of consciousness.
And just like in the movies,
Anything can be projected onto a green screen.
And it looks very real,
Feels very real.
And that's what consciousness is like.
It's like a green screen.
All of our,
All of the phenomena from our beliefs and our identifications get projected onto that.
And this has direct parallels with the holographic model of the universe that's being pointed out there.
And in fact,
Nicole,
And I cannot remember the guy,
The name of the author now,
But there is a book that you might be interested in reading.
I came across many years ago,
And it's called the holographic universe,
The holographic universe.
And it's a really excellent insight.
And so when we're experiencing like in what appears to be this very solid reality,
It looks and feels very solid.
But science has known that,
You know,
This chair I'm sat on,
It's something like 99.
49% space.
And even the 0.
0001% that's supposedly solid,
Isn't actually solid at all.
It's got atoms,
Which are made up of protons,
Neutrons and electrons.
And they're not solid either.
They have,
We go through what's called the wave particle duality.
Nobody and science has not yet found matter,
Something that is completely solid.
It's all energy in very condensed forms.
So this book,
The holographic universe is a good reader,
I recommend that you have a look at that.
But this pointing that science is moving towards now,
Is very close,
Starting to get much closer to this green screen of consciousness idea.
Most of science is still very locked into the materialistic paradigm.
But the quantum world,
As that was started to be discovered in the last century,
Started to change that picture.
But science is still catching up with where spirituality is.
So I just wanted to offer you those observations on that,
Nicole.
So look out for that if you feel called that book.
It's a very interesting read.
It's probably 12 years since I was inside,
Last looked at it,
But I remember it being really interesting and a good read.
And it fits,
As I recall,
With all of the insights that have emerged since the real,
Yeah,
Michael Talbot,
That's the one.
Michael Talbot,
Thank you for that,
Ruth.
It fits with all of the insights that have come directly since realization.
So science and spirituality becoming closer and closer together and realizing that they're not two separate things,
But actually one.
Actually one.
I'm going to move on to a question from Blossom now.
So Blossom's question is about shadow work.
And I noticed there's a lot of buried and unresolved emotions in my body.
She's asking basically,
I'll say this before I get to the two parts she's put here,
Which is the most natural way.
So I'll now read the two parts.
One,
Do you deal with these emotions only if they resurface and to sit in stillness to feel them and sit until they dissolve on their own?
Or,
She adds,
I have seen other ways,
Such as to think of a past event,
Let emotion surface to write everything down and let them go.
And hence they are no longer trapped in the body.
And she's asking which is the most natural way.
I've seen both of these approaches in action and there are plenty of tools out there.
And there are many versions of your option to blossom.
But really,
When we're coming at it from the space of self-realization,
And we deepen into awareness,
Such as using the infinite silence meditation,
Which is awareness meditation,
Which came directly from the realization,
Then trusting that and trusting only that life is going to present all of the necessary opportunities for all of the issues that are stuck,
So to speak,
In the emotional body to arise.
And in fact,
The meditative journey itself will bring that about naturally,
That was your word,
Naturally.
And yes,
There may be trigger events in life that bring them to the surface unexpectedly.
And again,
Using awareness,
We can dissolve that.
And for that,
My live stream replays that are most relevant are transmuting fear into love,
That's transmuting fear into love,
Emotions and blocks.
And from triggers to treasures,
And also from coping strategies,
From coping strategies to inner peace.
Those four streams deal with in great depth,
Moving from tools,
Techniques,
Processes,
To awareness being the infinite power and tool that we have within.
So that leads us to that is the most natural way.
And ultimately,
That is the only way that you're going to get to the root source of the emotional body,
Which stems from the belief in the case of mistaken identity.
It's not that the tools,
Techniques,
Strategies and processes are wrong.
Actually,
Many of them can be very powerful and very helpful.
And I've experienced this many years ago.
And they are ultimately as I explain in depth,
In the from coping strategies to inner peace live stream,
I walk you through that journey in that stream replay,
And that's available,
All of those are available as replays.
Ultimately,
All of those tools,
All of those processes,
All of those techniques are simply stepping stones to awareness.
They are not wrong or right.
They are stepping stones,
The golden thread that draws them all together is awareness.
And awareness is infinite silence is infinite,
Powerful,
Infinitely powerful.
And it's that which you are.
That is the most natural way blossom simple,
Right?
Simple.
I can see blossom saying thank you for it very clear now much appreciated.
Okay,
I'll just pick up on that comment because it's relevant to what I've just been pointing out from my Rita.
When people came to our the passenger retreats and had been to a six week course in mindfulness,
They suddenly experienced emptiness and were very scared.
Nobody has told them that there could be things popping up through the health business.
There was no follow up.
There's a few things that you want to draw out that I don't really know.
I'm not training my phone this I don't know but but anyway,
In any event,
That fear that Marita is pointing out there with this stuff coming up,
As one deepens into meditation,
The stuff in the emotional body or pain body or whatever it is,
Can and will naturally arise.
And it's through the processes or the apparent step that I described in depth in those four live streams that I explained to you that that you can become aware of trusting the awareness to dissolve all of this inner trauma.
The big fear pointed out there about the emptiness that Marita points out that this what this does is brings up the biggest fear of the identity.
And the biggest fear of the identity is the fear of its own demise,
Dissolving into emptiness because all of the effort all of the energy has been put into believing for many years all I am is this body mind.
And as an aware an experience of emptiness starts to arise,
The identity starts to see the writing on the proverbial wall,
So to speak,
And this it does not like one bit,
This it fears the most.
But this fear equates with this dissolution of the identity and equates that with actually physical death.
And it's not physical death,
It's actually a dissolution of the identity.
So all of that is a natural part of the process.
And I explore that in greater depth in those live stream replays.
And in fact,
In various ways across all of the live stream replays,
The whole process of spiritual self realization can in a way be captured in these three words.
Listen to this carefully,
It might sound a bit strange when I say it at first,
Life is death,
Life is death.
Now I don't mean here death of the physical body.
I mean,
Death of the identification,
The attachment to and the belief in all that I am,
Is the body mind.
And the dissolution of that core mistaken belief is what the total dissolution of that is what leads to the realization of the self.
It may happen in stages,
Life is death.
When that belief dies,
What's left is that which you truly are and why is life eternal as infinite silence or infinite awareness or infinite consciousness.
So thanks for sharing that Marita.
Okay,
So I'm going to move on to the next question.
And it says,
My question for you is,
Do you feel silence can heal and resolve physical issues?
My intuition says yes.
But I don't know if that's just wishful thinking.
So there's a number of things I want to say here.
I'm going to sort of preface that a little bit.
The ultimate answer to that question,
The infinite silence,
The infinite awareness,
The infinite consciousness is just like that word is infinite and therefore infinitely powerful.
And since everything stems from that and returns to that,
It therefore follows that even that which we call the physical domain can be resolved and dissolved by that.
Which means that yes,
It is possible for physical issues to be resolved by that.
Like I've said on many a stream,
It's not about believing anything I say about this.
It's about coming to this realization for yourself.
Now,
We need to go a bit further because there may be many reasons why physical illnesses,
Manifestations,
Issues occur.
But at their root will be spiritual,
Mental,
Emotional,
Physical causes that are the basis of that physical manifestation.
And there could be many reasons why that is in place in your life right now,
Whether it's something that's developed over time.
And all of these issues,
Whether they be mental,
Emotional,
Physical,
Are indicators from the perfect system of the body mind to communicate something that is out of balance in your life.
And therefore,
There's something that needs to be listened to like a messenger.
Now,
I've seen and witnessed many a miracle over time.
I've actually helped people,
Friends in the USA and so forth,
Actually look at even cancerous tumors from the space of awareness and completely and utterly dissolve those.
That has happened.
I've seen that and many other examples.
It may be still relatively rare for such a miracle,
So to speak,
To occur,
But it is possible.
It is possible.
And again,
You don't have to believe me on that.
There are people that I know that would testify to that experience.
All of the physical manifestations that we experience,
They're all here for a reason.
We might believe that it's this,
You know,
If you sort of come at it from different angles,
This is some kind of punishment or whatever.
It's not that.
There is always some underlying reason behind whatever's presenting.
Now obviously,
If somebody's born into life with some physical conditions,
You might say,
Well,
Why has that happened?
Now we need to then look at life in a bigger picture because although there is a physical manifestation here now,
In truth,
The journey of our life is one of many lifetimes.
And again,
This is a whole other subject and you don't need to believe me.
And that process carries forward through to each lifetime.
And there may be reasons that are not immediately obvious as to why things are manifest in the way that they are in our physical life now.
And there may be some reason behind that,
That is communicating something.
These things from an alternate level are neither right nor wrong,
But they are a kind of messenger.
And if you just using that cancer example,
Again,
I've heard so many stories of this now that,
You know,
Obviously isn't something that you would wish upon anybody.
Well,
I've seen endless examples of where people have gone through that and those fortunate enough to come through the other side of that.
I've all said something like,
Actually,
Or many have said,
Not all said,
Many have said,
Actually,
It was the best thing that could have happened to me because it completely made me reevaluate my life.
So there could be many reasons for these physical manifestations.
And yes,
It was awareness is possible to address all of it.
It is infinitely powerful.
That does not mean that we should not seek medical help.
If you just had a road accident,
A car crash,
And you're there injured,
Lying on the road,
It's a good idea to get in that ambulance and go to hospital.
All of this is part of consciousness.
None of it is separate.
So yes,
Whilst these miracles are possible,
There may be cases where we turn to traditional and conventional medicine to help ourselves.
It's very,
Very important that we take a practical approach to this as well as being open to the infinite power within.
And in fact,
Actually,
I was reminded of this story.
You've probably all heard a version of this story,
But it's very relevant to this situation.
A question that can come up.
So I'll share the story.
And then I'll point out what we're looking at here spiritually speaking,
Because people have used these stories in many ways.
But I'm going to use it from a self realization perspective.
So the story goes is that there is a flood occurring in this village.
And there's a gentleman at his house and the flood waters are rising rapidly.
And a canoe comes along,
The waters are surrounding the house now and the person in the canoe says to the man in the house,
Come on,
You better get in,
This flood's gonna get bigger.
You need to escape now.
And the gentleman in the house says,
No,
No,
No,
God will save me.
So off goes the canoeist.
And then a little while later,
A boat comes along and the flood waters are now sort of pretty much well up the sort of top part of the house.
And the man in the boat says,
You better come in,
You know,
You're not going to escape unless you get in the boat.
And the man now on the top floor of his house says,
No,
No,
God will save me.
Flood waters rise higher and higher and the guy had to climb onto the roof of his house.
And he's literally clinging on,
He's almost on the ridge of the house.
And a helicopter comes along and the helicopter puts down the winch and says,
Climb up,
You know,
You're going to get drowned if you don't.
He says,
No,
No,
God will save me.
Anyway,
He doesn't get on the helicopter.
He dies in the flood,
Goes to heaven and meets God.
And he says to God,
Why didn't you save me?
He said,
Well,
As I recall,
I sent a canoe,
A boat and a helicopter and you refused them all.
What else do you expect?
Now,
I don't use the word God very often,
As I've explained on previous streams,
Because the word is loaded.
And depending on where you are in the world,
It could mean many different things to many different people.
And also over different periods of time.
God equals infinite awareness,
Equals infinite silence,
Equals true essence,
Equals source,
Equals the universe in my language and in the context of spiritual self-realization.
So for the story,
Although I use the word God,
Read infinite awareness.
And for the story,
God is a canoe,
The boat,
The helicopter.
These are the practical tools.
And in the case of,
You know,
Urgent and serious physical conditions,
Then this would be conventional medicine.
It has a role,
It has a purpose,
Is all part of the grand plan and grand scheme of consciousness.
So it's important for us to embrace what's here.
And we will use those tools until and,
And such times as we go beyond all of that.
Yes,
Miracles are possible.
Of course,
I've seen them.
There's even,
You know,
Stories of people I know,
And one of those was the cancer one I just talked to you about that,
That have guided through that process.
But relatively speaking,
That's still relatively,
Relatively rare.
And that's in part because of the state of consciousness that we're coming from.
So the short answer to the question,
Yes,
It's possible.
But all the great gifts we have within our grasp,
Then we should embrace them.
So hopefully that has been useful.
I think it was Rosemary that asked that question.
Yeah,
So when Marianne was saying when I left my victim identity behind,
My fibromyalgia was,
Oh,
Yes,
It was less of an issue for you.
Good.
Good.
And I think many people would,
Would say similar things as they deepen into awareness,
The physical issues start to become less,
It may not be that the physical condition completely disappears,
It is possible.
But there may be other reasons for that to do with our journey to self-realization.
So we don't need to get attached or identified with that.
What we're opening to is the infinite awareness.
Okay.
And Plossum's affirming that to do with a friend who had fibromyalgia as well.
So I'm going to go to the next question.
Right.
Okay.
Quite a long question here.
I'm going to try and summarize it a bit so I don't have to read all of it.
Basically,
This person is continuing to deepen into awareness and feeling more connected.
And sound is a helpful tool for them to calm,
Help calm them down and so forth.
At times,
Though,
They still feel uncomfortable feeling and trust pops up for me with a message to let go.
In recent years,
I've experienced the witnessing the realization that we are not our physical bodies.
And I know that good,
Good.
I'm using sound to support me to deepen the connection.
And there's been some lovely spaces.
And I want to share this with others basically is what they're saying.
But there's a confidence issue.
And about fear about others,
Whether others will connect with that goes on to say that I think the fear is the inner hurt that I carry that seems to linger around in the background.
I'm just wondering how to allow to pass how to allow this to pass on the inner hurt.
Well,
Actually,
I've already touched upon that.
And those four live replays explain that in great depth.
But the key thing whenever that inner hurt is here,
And it surfaces,
It shows itself by particularly by a trigger event.
Don't take that trigger event as a challenge,
Something to be run away from,
But simply allow it to be seen,
Allow it to be felt,
Allow it to be witnessed by the unchanging awareness.
Trust that and trust that alone.
And in the witnessing of that and the accepting of that fully and the feeling of that fully with the total trust in the awareness,
It will dissolve of its own accord.
And the example I've used many times on that,
Just using these Ting Sharp bells as an example again,
Just listen to this.
Now,
An emotional trigger in brief is like what's just happened there.
There was silence,
A trigger event occurred,
Emotion arises,
Inner hurt arises.
Now,
If you don't put any more energy into it,
Like I didn't with the Ting Sharp bells,
If that inner hurt,
That emotional trauma or whatever it is,
Is allowed to be felt,
Fully accepted for what it is,
And total trust is placed in the awareness,
The infinite silence,
What's going to happen of its own accord is it will simply dissolve to silence.
It will be transformed and transmuted.
Thought cannot heal your pain,
Presence will transform it.
Thought cannot heal your pain,
Presence will transform it.
That presence is the infinite silence,
The infinite awareness,
The infinite consciousness.
So that would,
There's more to this question.
So I'm just summarizing that first part there.
So that's how to allow it to pass on.
See those four replays or listen to those four replays for greater depth on that.
Goes on to say this person,
I see it as part of physical life.
I feel it on a physical pain at times,
At other times it feels emotional.
It feels very sensitive,
Sorry,
I feel very sensitive to all of it and I feel very vulnerable at times.
Yeah,
All the identity will do that.
The question is,
Is it possible to move on from it?
Short answer,
Yes.
Short answer,
Yes.
The process,
Or it appears like a process is the one I've just described,
Or how can I feel into it so that it passes and I can move on again back to what I just described.
It is moving and I feel a clearing,
But in witnessing it brings an uncertainty and I question the feelings.
It seems to come back to trust.
How to deepen into that trust?
So the uncertainty that's arising there for you is all coming from the mind,
All coming from the identity.
Always that uncertainty is coming from identity,
Attachment and belief.
In the case of mistaken identity,
It is all that I am is this body and mind.
And uncertainty is really just fear by another word,
If that makes sense to you.
And still certainty is just fear by another word.
So that uncertainty,
That fear,
That emotion,
That feeling is an appearance in front of or within the field of awareness.
It is seen just like the sound of the Ting Sha Bells appearing,
Like a wave.
It is felt,
It is accepted,
It is watched,
It is witnessed.
And in that process it will naturally and effortlessly dissolve and transform of its own accord.
The question you then asked at the end was how to deepen into this trust.
Now I happen to know that you have experienced this transition,
This dissolution more than once.
Now once you've seen that happen once and experienced that happen once,
It's a bit like that saying,
You know,
A picture paints a thousand words and an experience is like a million.
If it's happened once,
This is a game changer because essentially that shows you the power of awareness in action.
And the key therefore is to come back to that.
If it happened in that situation,
It can happen in this situation and every situation.
And trusting that awareness then becomes natural.
And we move,
And this is important,
When it comes to trust,
The question I'll always ask is what is the highest form of trust?
What is the highest form of trust?
For those of you who have listened to the previous stream,
You'll have heard me say it many times now,
The highest form of trust is not having to trust at all.
The highest form of trust is not having to trust at all.
What that means is it has become a knowing,
A realising.
And earlier in this question you talked about a recognition of this awareness,
A sensing,
A knowing of it.
That's the knowing that I'm talking about.
And you'll have seen,
And it's important therefore to recognise,
With that awareness,
That knowing is always untouched,
Unmoved,
Unblemished by whatever's appearing in the physical body from the emotional body or the pain body.
So we go on this journey of trust,
Initially in baby steps,
We have these dissolutions,
These processes,
And eventually we can come to see that actually that knowing,
It can be completely and utterly trusted because it is the knowing.
It is the knowing.
And it's therefore no longer having to trust,
But just knowing that awareness will deal with it.
This is how we deepen in the trust.
We take baby steps through the process of this transmuting for interlock process I've described and go into great depth on the streams and it becomes the knowing and then we're at the highest form of trust and therefore the trusting process,
Shall we say,
Has come to its natural and highest form,
Which is the knowing.
I trust this makes sense.
For full exploration of that transmuting for interlock,
Emotions and blocks,
From triggers to treasures and from coping strategies to inner peace.
Those four are the key live replays.
All of those are available on my profile on Insight Timer.
Yes,
Marita says ego doesn't like effortlessly.
Indeed,
It doesn't.
Because your ego identity has been conditioned into steps,
Processes to get from A to B or to Z.
We go through B,
C,
D,
E,
F and G.
And what self-realization says is actually you're already Zed.
In fact,
You're the whole spectrum already.
And the power of the infinite is effortless.
So that goes back to our highest form of trust,
Which is the knowing,
Not having to trust at all.
Yeah,
Tara's adding there,
Allow the sound to play its tune without trying to change it.
Hear the beauty of your own song.
That's a beautiful way of putting it,
Tara.
So thank you for sharing that.
And that fits perfectly with the Tingsha bell example.
In fact,
Actually,
The next question here,
I think I've probably already answered.
I'll just read it out though.
It's from Rosemary.
My question for you is how can we best trust in silence with confidence when we see intense suffering with those close to us in the world?
Well,
In many ways,
I've already answered that,
Rosemary,
As I think you've already commented on.
And as we witness that transition within ourselves,
We come to recognize the unchanging nature of silence,
Infinite awareness,
Infinite consciousness.
But just to take it a little bit further,
Something I've explored at length on previous streams is this pointing,
This insight.
You cannot have sound without silence.
Just reflect on that for a moment,
Folks.
You cannot have sound without silence.
You can have silence without sound.
Now,
Sound is a vibration.
And therefore,
Because to have sound,
We must have silence.
Every vibration and all phenomena are vibrations,
Require the backdrop of infinite silence,
Infinite awareness,
Infinite consciousness.
These are all one and the same.
And since silence is always silence and always unchanging,
Untouched,
Unmoved,
Unblemished by whatever appears in front of it or within it,
Then it must be that all phenomena return to that.
It makes sense.
So,
Hence the title of the last stream,
Which I have actually put up now as a replay on Insight,
And you might want to go back to this,
Rosemary.
In silence,
We trust.
In silence,
We trust.
I use that line in the meditations.
All of the troubles and the chaos we're seeing in the world right now,
Just looking a bit more at some other aspects of your question,
All of that,
All of that comes from the belief in the case of mistaken identity played out to its extremes,
Whether it be from disputes with siblings through to international scale war.
To explore that in depth,
Go to my live stream replay Beyond Belief,
Beyond Belief.
So,
We see that silence,
Awareness,
Infinite consciousness is ultimately trustworthy because it is the only essence that doesn't change.
Everything else is impermanent.
Silence is permanence itself.
Infinite silence is a more accurate term because it is infinite.
It's an infinite field of energy,
An infinite field of awareness.
What else doesn't change in life?
And you will see that everything,
Everything else changes.
Only silence is permanent.
Only silence is permanent.
And it turns out we are that infinite silence,
Infinite consciousness,
Infinite.
It is that that we are seeking and it is that that we realize we are.
No need to believe me because truth is a realization,
Not a belief.
Did you get that folks?
Truth is a realization,
Not a belief.
It is the unchanging nature of silence which makes it infinitely,
Ultimately trustworthy and you will see that you are it.
Hopefully that is helpful to you.
Rajmeet,
Are you saying thank you so much?
So that was it in terms of all the questions I've got posted beforehand.
Hopefully that's been quite a nice little journey through for you just to kind of recap the whole essence of spiritual inquiry.
The whole process of spiritual self-realization is the resolution of the question,
Who am I?
Who am I?
And I have this little pointing that I'm going to share with you now.
Just listen to this carefully.
Who am I?
The question dissolves the questioner and the self is realized.
Who am I?
The question dissolves the questioner and the self is realized.
This self being the true self,
The infinite silence,
The infinite consciousness,
The infinite awareness,
The unchanging essence that we are.
The question dissolves the questioner.
The questioner is the identity I which is an appearance in front of awareness on the green screen of consciousness.
There's nothing wrong with it but it is an appearance.
We are in this world and not of it.
And the beauty of this physical appearance as Rosemary,
As Philip,
As Blossom or whatever is that the universe gets to come to know itself in its own experience.
Comes to know itself in its own experience.
And that's only possible because we create the opportunity of space,
Time,
Form,
Being and contrast.
Contrast is very important to experience.
And through that we come to know ourselves in our own experience.
The universe if you like has chosen to express itself in infinite variety.
One of which is your form.
In the domain of the absolute,
The infinite silence,
There is no time,
There is no space,
There is no being,
There is no form,
There is no contrast and thus in the traditional sense there is no experience.
So we have this universal piece of mystical creation that creates the experience of these other domains that allows itself to come to know itself in its own experience.
And thus is the importance and beauty of your form.
How wonderful is that?
For more on that one look at my live stream or listen to my live stream replay,
Life,
Purpose and Meaning.
Life,
Purpose and Meaning.
One phrase that came to me about this in the many meditations since Realisation was this,
You might quite like this.
And I think it probably relates,
It's just been reminded of it by Marita's comment there which I'll come to in a moment.
It goes like this,
The creator of cosmic mysteries am I.
The creator of cosmic mysteries am I.
And this I is the infinite I,
The infinite awareness,
The infinite consciousness.
In that short sentence is a kind of capture of what the process we're going through there.
So what did Marita say?
I listened to a song today called With My Maker I Am,
One with Eric Bibb.
I listened to it over and over and all of a sudden the lyrics hit me and the heart just flung open.
Who am I?
Great,
Great.
Thank you for sharing that Marita.
So I want to say thank you for all the people that have asked the questions.
Thank you for the donations tonight.
As I said,
The last 50 or so including tonight's have gone to the Pakistan Blood Appeal,
The Disaster Emergency Committee.
So thank you for that.
We've passed on that to them to help those people,
People in Pakistan.
I thank you for all of you for joining these streams over the last part of 2021 and 2022.
I hope that you found them beneficial.
Thank you for joining.
It's an absolute joy to share this message with the world.
If you'd have asked Philip 23 years ago when he knew nothing about meditation that he'd be doing this then,
He probably thought you were mad.
But there you go.
The universe acts in mysterious ways.
So thank you for joining us.
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for all your comments,
Questions and support to each other.
I'll see you on another live stream at some point in the future.
Look out for the notifications in the group.
Enjoy the replays.
Many blessings to you wherever you are in the world,
North,
South,
East,
West.
Thank you so much for joining us.
See you all again at some point in the future.
And I'm always with you.
We're always with each other at home in the infinite silence.
Bye now.
