So welcome to this short,
Sweet,
Little grounding meditation.
Make sure you are as comfortable as you can be right now.
If you need to shuffle around a little bit then do so.
Just be as calm and have it as comfortable as you can.
And if you haven't done so already you can close your eyes if that feels comfortable to you.
And wherever you are you can start to notice where your body is touching the chair,
The sofa or maybe the bed beneath you.
Just feel all the points where your body is touching a surface.
And also you can notice how your breath is right now without trying to change anything.
Just allow the breath to be exactly as it is.
Just allow the breath to be exactly as it is,
With no judgment.
And now let's take a few deep breaths.
Breathe in through your nose and fill up your body with oxygen and energy.
And as you exhale make that long as well and see if you can almost feel how your body is sinking in to the ground beneath you.
And just keep breathing in this deep,
Slow way.
Deep breath in through the nose,
Filling up your lungs and then letting it go back out and allowing your body to sink down into the surface that is touching you and holding you.
And one more time,
Deep breath in through the nose,
Filling up your lungs and then letting go.
You can also do this with a little sigh as you sink and feel how the surface is supporting you and almost becoming part of you.
And now you can send your focus down to your feet because the feet are the body part that is most in touch with Mother Earth.
So connecting to our feet throughout the day can be very helpful to ground us,
Especially if we're troubled with a busy mind.
Because also the feet are the furthest away from our brains.
So just be in your feet,
Feel,
Feel them.
Investigate.
Can you feel each individual toe?
Can you feel underneath your foot?
Can you feel the top of your feet?
Do they feel warm or cold?
Maybe there's a tingling or other kinds of skin sensations.
And can you feel inside your feet?
And now as we are in connection with our feet,
We can call upon Mother Earth for support.
We can allow her to send her nurturing energy up through our feet,
Up into our ankles,
Our calves,
Knees,
Up into our thighs and up to the seat,
Our pelvic area,
Into our bellies and lower back,
Up through the stomach and diaphragm area,
Into our chest and upper back,
Into the shoulders,
Out into the upper arms,
Our elbows,
Lower arms,
Wrists and hands,
And up in to our neck and throat,
Into our jaws,
Lips and nose,
Cheeks,
Ears,
Eyes,
Forehead,
The back of our head and the top of our head.
And just allow this energy to connect upwards as well,
Up out of your crown.
And now just know that this energy from Mother Earth will be with us as long as we have our focus on it and it's with us anyway,
All the time,
Always supporting.
So it's just for us to remind ourselves throughout our day and just connect with our feet,
Touch the ground and remember all the support that we have around us.
All the time.
And with that you can now start to wiggle fingers and toes and when you feel ready you can gently open your eyes again.
