Welcome to today's gratitude meditation practice.
Just take a few deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Just filling and emptying your lungs with a new day.
How wonderful your breath.
This process,
Which we don't have to do,
It just happens.
A breath keeping us alive,
Our vital functions operating efficiently.
Enjoy your breath.
Feel the sensation of your lungs expanding with the inhale and dropping back down as you exhale.
Soften your face.
Enjoy the muscles on your face.
Perhaps bring a tiny weenie smile onto your face and enjoy how that changes your face.
How much more relaxed it makes your face.
Bring your awareness to your feet,
However your feet are,
Your base.
Just send them some thanks,
Everything they do for you and everything they will do today.
All the tiny bones and muscles that help us to keep moving in our feet that allow us to go from one place to the other.
Start to make your way up through your body,
Recognising the function of different parts,
Your knees,
So you can bend,
Jump,
Play,
Your hips,
So you can dance,
And your soft,
Gentle belly.
Watch how it moves with your breath.
All the organs in this area that help us to digest,
To detox.
Breathe into them.
Making your way up to your chest,
Where your heart is.
Bring your gaze internally,
Just try and observe your heart.
Bring your awareness to your arms,
Your hands,
Your fingers,
Your nails.
How much they protect us and allow us to create.
Bring your awareness to your neck,
Your throat,
The centre of expression,
Where our thyroid gland sits,
And your head,
Your brain,
Your eyes,
Your lips,
Your teeth,
Your tongue,
Your ears.
Just bring your mind to all the things that you are able to do because of your body,
How it works with its limitations.
And just give thanks to your body.
Notice your body's reaction as gratitude surges through you.
Let your body soak in your gratitude.
Let your vessel feel seen and heard by you.
How grateful you are for everything it does for you.
Start to bring your awareness back to where you are,
Either seated or lying down.
Recognise how wonderful it is to be able to take this time for yourself.
Start to bring your awareness to different sounds,
Feelings.
Bring your awareness to your mind,
Recognising that you have the day ahead and you are set up.
Gratitude filling your body,
Filling your mind,
So that you can go through your day feeling light,
Connected to the light that you are.
