And The Raven Spoke To Me Of Grief
by Judith
The Universe is with you even in the darkest of situations, always present to assist when asked. All it takes is a simple request, sincerely meant, and then listen for an answer that will most assuredly come. And the path will be provided to lead you back into the light again, as long as you trust and ask … and as long as you listen … and, it may also happen when you don’t ask!

Our emotions are our boldest weapon of discovery.
They show us what is foremost in our soul.
Weapons,
Because they affect us often deeply and get our attention,
Protecting us from falling further away from ourselves,
Alerting us to awaken to what we are missing and what is present to discover,
Waiting to be found.
They also point the way to happiness.
Today,
I experienced pure joy in feeding a chickadee.
As Raven's messenger,
It enriched my air element and lightened the earth of my soul.
Pure joy experienced in such a simple gesture of pleasure in nature.
And the Raven spoke to me.
Raven,
As divine light in the shape of Raven's messenger,
Descends and wraps metaphoric light-filled golden wings around the grieving individual and holds them,
Lightening the heaviness of their earthen soul until all their inner darkness is transformed to light.
Ah,
The vulnerability of grief.
The need to play its dark tune when it demands it.
To feel the utter discord of inner notes.
The clashing chords of disharmony as inner harmony and light attempt to be restored.
These moments of utter discord of inner notes are the times we feel the absolute pain and despair of darkness and separation when one has left us in death or in family breakdown or when something equally as painful has happened to us,
Such as the loss of our home and identity through fire or environmental catastrophe.
These tragic moments must be acknowledged.
Allowing light-giving tears to flow is a natural part of healing.
Like a warm compress applied to the entire body,
Tears' natural saline soaks into the parts of us that hurt the most,
Drawing pain to the surface with temporary comfort and relief until the hurt returns and the compress is needed again,
The process repeating itself over and over as long as it is needed until healing can be found and inner harmony can be restored.
Whatever or whomever it is we grieve,
We need to acknowledge it completely by giving ourselves the time we need to heal.
We need to open to receive raven's light-filled golden wings from whomever we have in our life who is sent to us to help us through it.
Sometimes it is a professional counselor and sometimes it is a friend or a family member and sometimes it is a voice of a stranger on a recording and sometimes it is a pet and always nature is present to comfort us.
Healing happens when we open to the warmth and protection of those light-filled wings,
Invisible yet strongly present to hold us physically or emotionally until we can learn to fly on our own again.
Open to our internal sun again and to our eternal light again and again.
Like a pathway along an open field,
The soul winds its way through life,
Sometimes hiding in the bushes that surround the path and other times stepping out into the sunshine,
Taking it all in,
Wearing it,
Sharing it until something causes it to retreat again.
Grief causes the soul to hide.
Grief's powerful energy that is raw,
Unbelieving,
Desperate,
Alone,
Lost,
Paralyzed.
Some or all of these things,
For a time,
Render the soul destined to remain in the bushes,
Hiding from the sunshine,
Unable to take it in,
To wear it,
It seems,
For a time ever again,
Where words like peace and joy,
So foreign to the soul,
Now cocooned,
Entombed,
Frozen,
Waiting for the sun to revive it again.
To emerge from the bushes,
To step back into the sunshine,
To wear it and take it all in,
Healed of this time,
Able to return to the path,
To share it once again.
And the raven spoke to me.
Raven,
As light,
Can remove the darkness within one who is consumed by darkness and fill him or her with light.
What is darkness?
Darkness can be many things.
For certain,
One may have lived it to fully understand it.
Darkness is a term that is being used here to describe a wide range of emotion,
Created by a wide range of causes.
It is a space of depression which can have its origin in many forms of loss.
We tend to associate loss with the grief of death,
And yet grief can follow many realities of loss.
As a timely example,
Climate change has brought many tragic events to the forefront on our planet,
Often leaving devastation in the aftermath of storms,
Landslides,
Floods,
Fires,
Drought,
Tornadoes,
Hurricanes,
Cyclones,
And more,
Leaving catastrophic loss and subsequent grief from lives lost,
Homes swallowed up by swollen rivers,
Mountainslides wiping out roadways and people and cars driving on them,
Fires wiping out towns,
Tornadoes leveling whatever is in their path,
Floodwaters killing farm animals,
Too many to be saved,
And homes,
Businesses,
And farm buildings filling high with water.
Any and all of these realities we now see in the news has the potential to create PTSD and its subsequent darkness from the experience and its reality of loss.
Depression's darkness can also arise out of other forms of loss,
Like the loss of self-esteem from exposure to excessive bullying and social issues of identity,
Oppression,
And racial inequality.
And darkness most definitely surfaces when one feels a lack of love from others or from loving oneself.
Mental health as an issue is finally mainstream in society now as something that is real,
That demands everyone's attention to prevent darkness and its side effects,
The most dreaded and disheartening being suicide.
And the raven spoke to me.
Raven,
As light,
Can remove the darkness within one who is consumed by darkness and fill them with light.
Be the light.
And now the good news.
Whatever the cause of darkness,
Healing can be found even when all aspects of the future are unknown.
Once again,
Raven reminds us to live within the present moment.
This is key to healing,
To acknowledge the pain of darkness fully and allow natural healing tears to flow so the physical and emotional pain of grief can lessen and the energy of darkness can begin to be released.
Mental health treatment may well be needed at this stage in the form of counseling and medication as well as some form of energy healing,
Each with a view to help victims of darkness return to the pathway of healing that leads back into the sunshine again and helps them to remain in the sunshine,
Now knowing how deeply the pain of separation from it can be felt.
And then,
With healing and with a desire to feel better again,
Eventually one's ability to spread their own golden wings will return,
Little by little,
Until they can fly again,
Rebuild and reflect their internal sunshine as they begin to soar once more,
Able to wrap their light gently around others who are hurting also,
To guide them back to the inner harmony of their own light also.
The better angels who have helped them in their own recovery have been silently teaching through example that they are angels for others also because they have been there,
Suffered and survived.
As a very wise healer taught me many years ago,
The deeper the pain of sorrow,
The larger the heart's capacity to love,
Know compassion,
To console and be consoled.
In other words,
To be the light.
The raven,
As light,
Can remove the darkness within one who is consumed by darkness and fill them with light.
Remember this any time your inner light seems to fade.
Help is but a request away.
For the pain that never leaves,
The promises never kept,
The life that would be not,
The trust forever lost,
The light of raven's wings reach out to heal with light,
Light always present to be received,
Light always present to be received,
Light always present to be received,
To be healed,
To be healed,
To be healed,
To be healed.
Light and help is but a request away.
The universe is with you even in the darkest of situations,
Always present to assist when asked.
All it takes is a simple request,
Sincerely meant,
And then listen for an answer that will most assuredly come.
And the path will be provided to lead you back into the light again.
And this will happen over and over during your lifetime,
As long as you trust and ask,
And as long as you listen.
And it may also happen when you don't ask.
Open to receive the light today.
Be the light.
Thank you for joining me on this series of light.
Next time,
Raven will be speaking about peace.
Namaste.
