After I graduated college,

I was absolutely lost and I had to find myself again.

So I began watching hours and hours of personal development videos.

I began listening to speakers,

Attending webinars,

Online events,

Journaling,

And doing everything I could to find myself.

This was a journey that was spiritual and entrepreneurial.

And I can say two years later,

After having worked as a health coach and then starting a product-based business that I launched with my partner,

I feel so confident in sharing these seven tips that I've learned about how to create something extraordinary and really go after your massive vision and take those scary actions.

Hi guys,

Welcome back to my channel.

My name is Katie and this channel is all about helping you step into your power,

Spiritually,

Physically,

Mentally.

So let's just get right on into it.

The first thing,

As cliche as it sounds,

Is you need to see challenges as opportunities.

My favorite podcaster,

Ed Mylett,

Calls this framing.

When you are confronted with something that is challenging to you,

You can either say to yourself,

This sucks,

This is terrible,

I don't wanna do this.

Or you can say to yourself,

This is an opportunity for growth.

This is an opportunity to push my boundaries,

For me to learn,

For me to step into a new version of myself.

Once you realize that everybody that has succeeded on the path that you're trying to go down has had to go through those challenging times,

Learned how to do the uncomfortable things,

Talking to people,

Writing copy,

Making business plans,

Signing up for jobs,

Like whatever it is that you're trying to go after,

Maybe it's just putting on your shoes to take yourself for a walk for the first time.

That was something I struggled with for a long time.

You realize that those uncomfortable things are actually massive opportunities for your growth.

So every time you start to feel uncomfortable,

Ask yourself,

Is this discomfort something that doesn't serve me,

Or am I just feeling uncomfortable because I've never been here before?

The second thing,

And this is hard to hear,

But you need to rest when you're tired,

Not when you're bored,

Not when you're confused.

This is so sneaky,

And I didn't even realize this was possible,

But when you don't want to do something because you've never done it before,

You don't feel safe doing it,

You feel scared of judgment,

Or you don't know how it's gonna go,

You're just feeling anxious or fearful,

Sometimes your body will literally start to make you feel like I'm so tired,

Like I have to go lay down right now,

I have to sleep because I am so exhausted,

But it's a ruse.

It's your mind literally shutting down your body because you've never done it before and it's scared,

And it's a way for your brain to escape the situation.

You might have heard before that our brains are wired to protect ourselves,

And that's why it's so intensely scary and creates so much fear to go after your dreams.

Well,

This is one coping mechanism that your brain comes up with,

And I didn't even realize it for the longest time.

Now,

I'm not saying don't rest.

Resting is critical.

When you nap,

Your brain literally washes itself,

Cleanses itself,

You wake up feeling better.

This is a beautiful thing,

But I'm telling you,

Don't waste your whole day away resting because you think that you're so tired and you don't have any energy,

When the reality is you do,

You're just scared,

And you haven't confronted those feelings.

Also on the topic of resting,

You might be surprised to learn that the people that are ahead of you in life are taking more breaks than you.

And the reason I say this is because when you take a little rest to reflect,

You can learn from what you did in the past,

And then you can also set your intentions for the future.

And you can do that through journaling or just closing your eyes and being with yourself,

Meditating,

So really tune in how you're resting.

When you're tired,

You will know so because you will have done a full day's worth of work,

You'll have done something really cognitively challenging,

You will have done something that will have drained your energy.

Another thing is you might be shutting down because you just don't know what to do.

Like you have this big vision of where you wanna go,

But you haven't broken down the little steps,

And that confusion also prevents you from taking action,

So your body shuts down.

Okay,

Number three,

Reward yourself after you have taken a little action step.

So as I said before,

You wanna break down your big goals into little steps that you can accomplish in bite-sized pieces.

However,

If it's not something that is a fun thing to do that gets you going,

You're gonna need to make sure that you are training your brain,

Literally wiring it to enjoy that process by getting a reward afterwards.

So you can actually prepare yourself by saying,

Okay,

I really want to have a nice warm cup of hot cocoa,

But I'm not gonna get it until I film that video,

I write that email,

I contact that person,

Right?

So you are telling yourself,

I can't have it until I do the thing I need to do,

You do the thing,

And then you reward yourself,

And you feel extra good,

And you make an association in your brain between the productivity and the thing that you like,

And that will help set you up for success,

And it will also motivate you to get the thing you don't wanna do done faster because you have such a strong craving for whatever it is that you want,

Whether it's food or a movie,

Something that is going to light up your brain,

Even if it's a scroll on some short form video feed.

Okay,

Number four,

Push yourself past what you think you're capable of doing.

And this one is tricky,

But you'll know when your brain starts to tell you,

Okay,

I'm done,

I'm tired,

I'm fatigued,

The best way to hear this is when you're in the gym or you're exercising,

You're going to hear yourself start to say,

I can't do any more.

That is when you always try to push yourself to do one more.

So if I'm doing 10 reps,

Go for 11.

That is going to show you that your brain is the most powerful thing,

That you are in control,

Not the thoughts that are rising up.

Those thoughts are,

Again,

A way for your brain to protect you from fatigue and exhaustion and places that you haven't been before,

But you always have one more in the tank.

And then you can take this skill and you can try to transfer it into your business life,

Your career,

Whatever it is that you are working on right now so that you can improve a little bit more.

You can progressive overload your self-development.

So instead of doing an hour's worth of work in one sitting,

Maybe you can do an hour and a half.

Then you'll be able to get better,

Get more comfortable and train yourself to go past what you thought was possible.

And then the second thing is,

This builds up so much more momentum than you think you do.

So for example,

With the gym,

If you did one extra rep every single day,

That could be 365 extra squats,

Extra pushups,

Extra minutes on the treadmill.

Imagine how much further you would be at the end of the year when you have accomplished those things over time.

That is going to put so much distance between you and the person you're competing against,

Whether that is just your old self or somebody that's actually going against you.

If you wanna be stronger,

Put in those extra reps.

If you wanna have more contacts,

Make those one extra contact every single day.

That is how you make that little itty bitty progress.

Always try to do a little bit extra.

Five,

You have to surround yourself with winners because the people that surround you,

The standards and beliefs that they set are the standards that you are going to either rise up to or fall down to.

Peer pressure is such an underrated force in our lives because it drives us to take actions that we wouldn't normally take without other people pushing us to be there.

And so when you surround yourself with people that are also driven,

That are seeking to be healthier,

Happier,

More free in their lives,

Then you are also going to be on that level.

And for me,

This has been such a hard thing to do because not a lot of people are young entrepreneurs starting to create a product-based business,

Working with manufacturers and doing all this crazy stuff,

Taking risks.

And so sometimes it can feel hard to relate to people.

And what I've realized is that the people I'm letting into my life,

It doesn't have to be just people that I normally engage with.

I consider the people I surround myself with,

The YouTubers I listen to,

The podcasters I watch.

Those people have become so ingrained in my mindset.

I think about them every day.

I ask myself,

What would so-and-so do?

And then I use that to help me make better choices.

I consider these people to be my friends.

And as a matter of fact,

I don't care if this sounds crazy.

I like to imagine myself one day actually being their friends,

Being on their podcast,

Going out to lunch with them,

Going on vacation with them.

I see them as people that are on my level because I have to.

If I wanna get where they're going,

Then I have to try to imagine that these people are actually my friends and I am going to stay in touch with them multiple times a week,

If not listen to them every single day.

That way I am in the same headspace they're in.

If they're making millions of dollars,

Then I want my headspace to be where they're at.

If they're going to the gym every day,

I want my headspace to be where they're at.

So keep watching these videos,

Keep showing up in spaces where there's other people that are going to push your standards to the next level.

My next tip for you is by far my favorite,

And it is reverse engineer the life that you want to have.

I once heard something so amazing.

It was,

It is easier to 10X your life than it is to 2X your life.

And the reason being is because if you were to just 2X whatever result you'd have accomplished,

Whether that's like physical or in your career,

You would just do two times as much.

You know,

You could go to the gym or work on your diet twice as hard.

You could work twice as hard at work.

But if you wanted to 10X those results,

If you wanted to be the best of the best,

You would have to see who is that version of myself,

Write down a list of who they are,

And also write down a list of who they're not.

What don't they do?

And then eliminate all of those things.

Do you see how it becomes easier to eliminate the things that aren't taking you where you want to go than just to try to work twice as hard?

I read recently,

It's just as time-consuming and effortful to rent out a building with 1,

500 apartments as it is 50 apartments.

So why would I go for 50 when I could go for 1,

500,

Make more impact,

Make more money,

Help more people?

That is the type of mindset that you need to be in if you want to grow exponentially.

And so that is what I'm always challenging myself to do.

If I'm not perfect and I have moments where it's like,

Okay,

I just binged on social media scrolling or I didn't do what I said I was gonna do,

That's just when you get back up and you go back to the list,

The literal list,

And you figure out what is it that I need to be doing right now.

You see this right here in the background,

This piece of paper?

This is my 10X business list.

This list has on it,

Make a specific amount of money that I've never seen in my life before.

And I'm already making moves on doing these things.

This list,

I probably made this maybe two months ago.

I don't know,

Regardless.

Before then,

I was stuck in a very smaller mindset.

And until I did this 10X concept of who would I be if I was as big as I could be and I made this list,

I mean,

That's just when everything changed for me.

So,

And it pushes you because you have,

It pushes you further because you have a bigger vision of who you could be that is even more compelling.

Now,

I wanna leave you with one last piece of advice.

When you're going for your big dreams,

You should be making decisions that will leave you questioning your sanity.

And I say that because everything that you've done previously has gotten you here,

But you wanna go somewhere else and it's going to feel uncomfortable.

Everything that you do now is probably condoned by your parents or your friends,

But they've probably never been where you wanna go.

So it's going to feel like you were going totally against the grain and you were making the craziest decisions.

It's okay.

It's supposed to be that way.

So,

As I said at the beginning of this video,

Lean into the challenges because they're opportunities.

This is going to make such a fabulous story one day when you're telling your kids about how you accomplished whatever it was,

Losing weight,

Getting the career,

Getting the business,

Finding a partner.

That's gonna be such an amazing story to tell.

Think about every detail you're going through now and how when you overcome it,

It is going to be so inspirational for somebody else.

And if that doesn't get you going,

I don't know what will.

Okay,

I hope you enjoyed today's video and I will see you next week.

Bye.
