When your mind feels scattered,

There's always a way to return to a place of calm.

It takes practice to create this space,

And it can evolve and change over time.

But with patience,

You can teach yourself to return to this place whenever you need it.

Let's practice together.

Begin by relaxing.

Take a few soft,

Natural breaths.

Let your mouth,

Your jaw,

And your tongue soften.

Melt away any residual tension in your shoulders,

Neck,

Arms,

Mid-back,

And even your hips.

Allow your body to loosen and make some space.

As you create space in your body,

Notice how you can tune in a little more deeply.

Relax and simply breathe here.

Now start to envision your safe space.

If you've never created a safe space before,

Release any worry about getting it right.

There's no need for this to be exact or final.

It's just a simple practice.

You're using your imagination to retreat into a place of ease.

Your mind might resist at first,

But see if you can gently persist.

Begin to picture a space that is entirely your own.

This is a place you can visit at any time,

No matter what emotions you are feeling.

It can be like a breath of fresh air,

Or maybe a cozy,

Warm hug.

Whatever details start to arise are exactly right.

There's no wrong way to do this.

Simply continue relaxing.

Let your mind wander,

Let your body settle.

The details of your space can come to you in any order,

Without structure.

In fact,

The more you relax,

The more your inner experience can grow richer.

Imagine the colors and textures that would evoke relaxation for you.

Are the hues vibrant or cool?

Is the space warm,

Textured,

Soft?

Sense into the atmosphere fully.

Keep imagining the details that you could truly settle into that would evoke relaxation.

What sounds would you hear in your safe space?

Is it indoors or outdoors?

Is there a stillness to the space,

Or is there a breeze?

Is there a specific climate?

Is there a specific soundscape that would feel like a reprieve?

How about the temperature?

Do you imagine that there's a cozy blanket,

Or warm sunlight streaming through a window?

So is something gently warming you?

Let the details keep unfolding in your mind as you relax into this very moment.

Remember there are no limits here.

You are free to create whatever space feels right just for you.

If your mind has wandered,

Bring it back to imagining your space.

Envision the kind of scenery that might be in view.

Is it in nature?

Are there specific objects?

Are there certain people?

Or is it a wide open space?

Keep allowing your mind to evoke all the details.

If there's a specific geographic location that brings comfort,

Picture this location now.

Feel free to add any elements that might not even align with reality.

This is your space to customize.

Are there any tastes that you imagine?

Perhaps a comforting meal or a cool sip of water?

Maybe there's a scent like a flower?

Perhaps there's a forest?

Or a desert breeze?

Anything that brings you comfort,

Let it arise in your mind now.

Continue to relax,

Letting go of any remaining tension in your body.

What would your body feel like if you were truly in this safe space?

Now that you've envisioned your safe space,

Or even just some of the details,

You have created something truly unique and special.

This is your safe,

Beautiful space.

Can you let your energy downshift?

Allow yourself to fully relax into this scene in your mind's eye.

See if you can let go of any lingering worries or thoughts.

Even if you can create a little distance between yourself,

Your worries,

Your thoughts,

That's enough.

In that pause,

Your mind can find a way to detach from future narratives or past clinging even for a moment.

Still envisioning yourself in the peaceful place,

Release any remaining muscular tension in your jaw,

In your body.

Let go of any energetic tension you've been holding.

Imagine all energetic tension dissipating,

Completely evaporate all tension,

Mental,

Physical,

Energetic.

You've created a safe space in your mind and your heart.

You've relaxed your body and now feel yourself downshift,

Feel the difference as you release and relax.

Notice how your breath feels,

Notice the steady rhythm of your heartbeat.

Relax here as long as you need.

Know that you have your safe space you can return to,

You can reimagine at any time to bring you comfort,

Relaxation and ease.

Stay here at least a few minutes and when you're ready to gently come up.
