Welcome to this guided meditation.

I'm your host Kim Shepard and I encourage you to get into a comfortable position to support yourself to physically,

Mentally and emotionally relax.

Whether you're choosing to sit down or lay down for this meditation,

I encourage you to take some deep breaths in slowly through your nose and slowly exhaling out your mouth.

If this doesn't feel comfortable,

Breathing in a way that feels best for you to support your mind to relax and to let go.

Making sure that you're not holding any tension through your face,

Unclenching the teeth and softening your lips.

Closing your eyes and bringing the focus of your eyes up between your eyebrows up to the third eye to encourage your mind to rest.

When we place our eyes in this position it encourages the mind to be able to relax even more and the more we're able to relax the mind,

The more our body will follow its lead.

Taking a few more deep breaths in and out.

Placing your hands over your belly with the longest fingers touching each other.

As you breathe I want you to focus on drawing your breath down to your belly.

As you inhale I encourage you to allow your belly to expand so the tips of your fingers come apart slightly.

On the exhale they slowly come back together again.

Feeling this gentle movement through your belly will encourage your body to release tension that you're holding through your diaphragm and through your belly.

This breath is a powerful breath to remember to use when you are in labour.

When you're in labour your uterus expands out and as we connect into this full belly breath it creates this space for your uterus to expand to support your baby to move down through the birth canal.

As you're connecting in with this breath and focusing on your belly rising and falling with each breath.

Repeating to yourself,

I am grateful for the new life forming within me.

I am grateful for the new life forming within me.

Connecting in with this affirmation.

Feeling into the gratitude of what your body is creating in this moment.

And then repeating I am grateful for my body.

I am grateful for my body with each breath.

Your body is this incredible vessel that is able to bring life into this world.

Your body is this incredible vessel that is able to bring life into this world.

To pause and to reflect in the miracle of life.

Your body is designed to grow and create life.

To bring a new beautiful soul into this world.

Your body is going through incredible changes to facilitate this process.

Sometimes it can be an emotional journey as much as a physical journey as we go through all of these changes of pregnancy.

You might notice the aches and pains of your body.

And in these moments it's an opportunity to pause.

To connect in with that deep relaxing breath.

And to show your body love and appreciation for everything that it is doing for you and for your baby.

And with each breath repeating I appreciate the changes taking place in my body.

I appreciate the changes taking place in my body.

And if you're feeling nervous about giving birth.

Focusing on affirmations to build your confidence helps to focus on your goals rather than your fears.

So with each breath now repeating I can do this.

I can do this.

I can do this.

When we learn to reduce the stress in our mind.

Our body learns to let go of the physical stress.

Birth is a normal and natural process that your body is designed to do.

And whether you're choosing to try for a natural birth or whether you're booked in for a cesarean.

I encourage you to be kind and to connect in with your breath and the affirmations that resonate with you most strongly.

So repeating with each breath.

Birth is normal and natural.

Birth is normal and natural.

Birth is normal and natural.

Choosing to use the affirmations that resonate with you most strongly.

And you might find just listening to these meditations at night time are a great way to give yourself that moment to pause and to help connecting with your breath.

That full belly breathing.

To work with the affirmations to help build your confidence and to have appreciation and love and respect for this amazing body that is able to create life.

You are amazing.

Your body is doing amazing things right now.

Remember to pause,

To breathe and to have gratitude for everything that your body is going through on this journey.

You won't feel this way forever when you have these discomforts.

Before long you'll have your baby in your arms.

And it's all worth the journey and every little feeling along the way.

Much love to you all.

Namaste.
