So what is my take on mindfulness?
Well,
It's the same as Jon Kabat-Zinn suggests that mindfulness is about being in the present moment accepting what is without judgement.
So there is no right or wrong.
It's just about accepting whatever it is as it is.
There are schools of thought that suggest we should do 20 to 30 minutes a day of meditation or mindfulness of being.
However,
In this fast-paced,
Crazy world that we live in it's not very easy to find that much time.
And so I suggest that you start with five minutes a day and those are five separate minutes a day.
Do you understand that?
I share mindfulness as an art,
An awareness of what you hold,
The realisation of what that holding is doing to you in terms of your body and your mind,
And the transformation toolkit which enables you to bring about change,
Bring about five minutes,
Five separate minutes of mindfulness daily into your life.
In the Western world we are materially rich and emotionally poor.
So may I suggest that you look at mindfulness a bit like you do,
Your bank balance.
In order to pay the mortgage,
The rent,
Food on the table,
Holidays and everything else that fits your lifestyle you need to make sure there is sufficient money in the bank.
In the same way you need to look at your emotional bank balance and by topping up that bank balance with five minutes every day your five separate minutes or maybe more when those challenges that life throws at us hits you,
You will be in a more focused,
Stable and grounded position to deal with it.
And that is my take on mindfulness.
